Chapter 101 - Zhou was Wronged
Chapter 101: Zhou was Wronged
Shen Chengjing stood quietly in the living room, admiring an oil painting.
“Sister-in-law.” Wang Chenghao took the initiative to greet her, as he couldn’t care less whether or not Moh Yanchen minded.
“Hello.” Shen Chengjing heard him and turned around.
But when she saw him, she was shocked!
“It’s you?!” She blurted out. That day at the mall, when she was in trouble, he was the one that happened to save her. She never expected him to really know Moh Yanchen.
“Looks like it’s fate. I’m glad to have already met sister-in-law. I didn’t expect Brother Chen to have such good taste,” Wang Chenghao said teasingly.
At that exact moment, as Shen Chengjing stood at a slight angle, the sunlight shone through the glass cascading onto her body, leaving her enveloped in a golden halo and causing her to appear as an indescribable beauty.
Even her soft, yet firm voice gave people a real good feeling, and there wasn’t a trace of pretentiousness at all.
“Thank you for helping me out that day.” Shen Chengjing took the initiative to approach him.
Actually, Wang Chenghao was somewhat gloating seeing Zhou Yuncheng’s situation who had flirted a bit too much with Shen Chengjing. He wanted to see how that guy would solve it.
“It was nothing,” he generously said.
He noticed Moh Yanchen was bringing over a glass of warm milk.
“Brother Chen.”
Moh Yanchen nodded slightly to him in acknowledgement, but he then walked up to give the glass of milk to her before saying, “Have this to warm your hands.”
“Thanks.” Shen Chengjing accepted the glass of milk and took a sip.
At that moment, she also saw a smiling Zhou Yuncheng walk towards them, however she felt a bit guilty. She pursed her lips when she looked at him as she felt that the world was really small.
“Brother Chen, and sister-in-law, why are you both here?” He pretended to not know anything.
‘Damn it. In the future, I’d better investigate before taking any action. Otherwise, just like today, I might suffer the consequences of my actions. It wasn’t worth it!’
“Hello.” She nodded politely.
Zhou Yuncheng frowned when he looked at Wang Chenghao. He then turned to look at Shen Chengjing with a smile, before saying, “Sister-in-law, I let you down the other day, and as I haven’t apologized yet, let me say it now here at the door: I’m really sorry.”
“You should come closer if you want to apologize properly,” Moh Yanchen interjected.
Zhou Yuncheng’s heart skipped a beat. He had a bad premonition. He put on a cheeky smile before turning to him to say, “Brother Chen, I have something to tell you.”
“Sister-in-law, let me borrow him for a little bit,” as he spoke, he pulled on Moh Yanchen’s arms and forcibly dragged him to the study.
Wang Chenghao watched this scene with his lips pursed into a smile. He did not say a word. “Sister-in-law, don’t mind him. That’s just how he is.”
“Mm.” She nodded slightly, but didn’t know how to reply. Wang Chenghao looked at the painting in the room before casually saying, “From your expression just now, you seem to be very interested in this painting.”
“Indeed. This painting is different from other oil paintings. What the artist wanted to express was quite profound, especially here in this forest,” she said while pointing to one side of the painting.
“Indeed, Brother Chen’s paintings are rare.”
“It’s Uncle’s painting?” Shen Chengjing was a little surprised. Moh Yanchen actually knew how to oil paint?
This painting was of a person standing on a high place, looking around. It was dusk, so the sun was already setting on the ground. The person’s gaze was looking at the forest to the side, which was full of blooming flowers.
“Yes.” Wang Chenghao confirmed with a deep voice, his eyes filling with pride. Out of the three of them, Moh Yanchen was the one they were most proud of.
At that very moment, his phone rang. He looked at her apologetically, before saying, “Sister-in-law, I’ll be taking my leave now. Please help yourself.”
“Okay.” She chuckled softly as she watched him walk into the study in a hurry.
She walked around casually before realizing that the environment here was extremely elegant, like peach blossoms in full bloom. The patches of rare flowers and plants in the backyard were especially so.
