Chapter 12: Chapter 12: Bridge's Initial Contract
Seeing their hesitant nods, the worker decided to still coach them through the contract.
"To ensure that the contract is concluded, there must be no resistance from either party. Therefore, either both parties agree to the contract, or the unwilling party is unconscious when commencing the contract. Thankfully, as I've mentioned C0039 is very agreeable and should not refuse to form a contract with you.
"At your level, a medium is needed to establish a contract, typically blood. Technically, any bodily fluids can achieve this effect, but considering most individuals do not have an abnormal inclination to swap spit with their contract, blood is typically used as the medium. You will then use your spiritual power to help guide your contract's spiritual power to your star, its future home.
Once the contract is concluded, she should appear in your star, and the environment of said star should begin to alter to better suit her needs. Understood?"
"S-sounds straightforward," Bridge said after giving a large gulp.
"Excellent! Let's get started. Please stretch out your hand." Bridge did as directed with his eyes tightly squeezed shut.
Slash
Bridge gave a flinch at the sudden cut, before opening his eyes. "That didn't hurt so much."
The breeder then bent down to open the Huricanine's cage. "Come here sweety! Now give me your paw. Excellent! You're such a good girl!" After making a cut on the pup's paw the breeder stood up and backed away to give Bridge space. "Make sure that the incisions are making contact"
Bridge did as directed, and immediately let out a muffled grunt.
"Very good! She'll likely need your help to direct her spiritual power to the right location"
Bridge, while still holding onto the paw, bowed his head while sweat began to form on his brow.
'It looks like forming the contract is not as easy as we thought' Kain thought while watching from the side.
After nearly 10 minutes, the pup let out a white glow before disappearing and Bridge straightened up while panting heavily.
"Great job!" Said the breeder, "The first contract is usually the most difficult. After all, it's not an easy task for students to guide another's spiritual power with their crude control. You may proceed to checkout, when you are ready to leave. I've already gathered your requested materials at the front desk."
The two nodded before turning to leave when they suddenly felt as though it was hard to breath. This was the pressure of a 2-star beast-tamer's spiritual power.
"Also, don't forget to tell the front desk that Merida was the one to assist you. If I lose out on my commission I do know exactly where to find you" came a chilling voice from behind them.
The two nodded quickly before dashing towards the front desk once the pressure was alleviated.
