Chapter 43: Should Be Under the Car
Chapter 43
None of Song Jixing's suggestions were adopted by the crowd.
She took a look at the image of the island, and asked the tour guide, "Is naming the island urgent?"
"No rush. This is a gift for you. Feel free to use it whenever you've decided on a name," said the tour guide.
Song Jixing nodded. "Then let me think about it some more before deciding on a name."
And so, the show was perfectly concluded.
The crowd exchanged contact details and said their goodbyes at the pier, looking forward to the next gathering.
At the parking lot, Song Jixing bumped into her agent, Feng Juechen, who had a similar elite style as Xu Kai.
"Hello, hello! You're Song Jixing!" Ren Xun walked up and greeted Song Jixing with a handshake.
Ren Xun had heard all about Song Jixing's name through the grapevine.
However, it was only recently that he found out Feng Juechen's "Song Jixing" was the Song Jixing under Lan Ying Entertainment.
Not only were their names identical, but they were the same person.
Wasn't Song Jixing supposed to have the image of an inspirational actress? Raised in an orphanage and still managed to get into a top university?
How did Feng Juechen become her brother?
Ren Xun remembered Feng Juechen's explanation that one took the father's surname and one took the mother's.
Meeting Song Jixing for the first time and noticing their identical temperament, Ren Xun really doubted they were siblings.
"Hello! Thank you for taking care of my junior," Song Jixing greeted politely.
Junior?
Despite his many doubts, Ren Xun still smiled and responded, "No problem at all. It's my duty."
After Feng Juechen got in the car, Ren Xun sat beside him. He first pulled up the small door between the driver's compartment before turning on soft music. He then probed Feng Juechen about his sister relationship with Song Jixing.
"You two aren't biological siblings?" Ren Xun asked gingerly.
Feng Juechen sat upright on the white sofa seat next to him, lazily scrolling through his tablet. "No!"
"Then one took the father's surname and one took the mother's?" Ren Xun asked.
Feng Juechen: "Yes! My master has her own parents, and I have my own. Is that strange?"
To come into this world, one must first have parents of their own.
"Then...how did she become your guardian?" Ren Xun's tone grew increasingly cautious.
After Feng Juechen explained, he put down his tablet and looked at Ren Xun. In a slightly low voice, he said, "My parents passed away a long time ago."
It was the year his parents passed away that his master found him and took him under his wing.
Upon hearing this, Ren Xun wanted to severely reprimand himself. What was he thinking just now?
A minor child losing his parents early and having a master willing to be his guardian was not easy at all!
"You two are master-disciple siblings of the same sect. Are there others in your sect too?"
Feng Juechen nodded. "Yes, many. But my master and I have the closest relationship."
Just as Ren Xun was relieved, he became anxious again upon hearing this.
A close relationship? How close for her to become his guardian?
Ren Xun felt he was not playing the role of a strict parent. But as Feng Juechen's agent, he had to pay attention to his artist's love life.
Especially since Feng Juechen was still a minor. Having scandals with adult female artists would not bode well.
For now, Ren Xun only had concerns and guesses.
Even so, as a professional agent, Ren Xun still reminded, "You're a rookie still underage. It's not suitable to be involved in scandals with other artists now. You..."
Feng Juechen: "What are scandals?"
Ren Xun sighed. "Being caught intimately with a female artist you're not blood-related to. Bad for your career and future prospects. It affects your income!"
After some thought, Feng Juechen roughly understood what scandals meant.
He nodded. "It's fine. The money all goes into my master's card anyway."
Ren Xun nodded and then froze!
Something was off! This seemed like an even bigger problem!
Feng Juechen was only handed over to Ren Xun after signing the contract and finalizing all preparations.
Initially, Ren Xun greatly admired Feng Juechen, thinking he was excellent stock with a smart mind that picked up things quickly. With his fair, cold features, getting the C position right off his debut was no issue at all.
Just as Ren Xun was thinking of having his new artist appear on a talent show to gain some exposure, the company directly ensured Feng Juechen a spot on a new variety show alongside other up and coming artists.
This greatly exceeded Ren Xun's expectations. Upon hearing about Feng Juechen's contract terms,
Ren Xun even felt it was unlike a proper artist contract. It was more like Feng Juechen was the boss's son coming to play in the entertainment industry and could leave anytime.
But after hearing about his ties with Song Jixing, Ren Xun began rethinking his assumptions.
If Feng Juechen was the boss's son, why was Song Jixing at a different company?
Previously, he thought Feng Juechen had the boss under his spell. But after analyzing their entanglement, it seemed like Song Jixing was the one who had the boss and Feng Juechen under her spell.
Why didn't Song Jixing charm her own boss instead?
The more Ren Xun thought about it, the more confused he got. He decided to just let it go.
As long as there was no unlawful or unethical conduct, and schedules were properly completed, he didn't care about Feng Juechen's private life.
Speaking of which, Ren Xun urged again, "Are you really not considering the apartment the company arranged? It's easy to be photographed by paparazzi living outside."
"No need. I have a place to live," Feng Juechen directly rejected.
The van stopped outside Hong Chaoyang Residences. After Ren Xun escorted Feng Juechen a few steps, he noticed another similar-sized van parked nearby.
The door opened and Song Jixing slowly emerged.
Ren Xun's eyes widened as he shifted his gaze between them. "You two live together?"
Feng Juechen candidly admitted, "Yes, we've always lived together!"
Ren Xun suddenly felt his heart ache. He needed to leave for a bit to collect himself, so he hurriedly bid Feng Juechen goodbye and got in the van.
Right after the van door closed and the engine started,
Ren Xun caught a glimpse of a girl with a ponytail running out from the residence entrance towards Feng Juechen and Song Jixing. She happily rested a hand on each of their legs.
The girl was petite with fair, cute features.
Gripping the door frame tightly, Ren Xun was utterly confused by the sight, like a Siberian brown bear.
Could it be what he was thinking?
No way, right?
Maybe he shouldn't be in the van but under it instead.
