A Child Turned Into A Soldier

Chapter 31: The Flame of the Kennings

Chapter 31: The Flame of the Kennings

POV: Blaze Kennings

"Do you want to die?"

These words which were said by a monster echoed in my head. The lady who led me to such a monster had said to be careful and even apologized to me. It seems those words were just a front, because no good person would throw a kid out in front of a being who wants him dead.

"No." Is all I could muster to say, I wasn't brave enough to plead my case. Maybe saying no would be just enough for this freak to spare my life.

"I see." Is all that the freak said.

We continued to walk for quite a while through the ghetto, after a bit we arrived by a car which was totally blacked out. Not once did me and the freak speak to one another, all we did was walk.

"Get in the car." I followed his order and opened one of the back doors and slowly got in.

I noticed that there was someone in the driver's seat, he was a man who looked quite tall and also contained a terrifying aura to him. It seemed like my life was really going to hell all in just one day.

The freak also got in the passenger's seat without saying or even looking at the driver.

The driver stared at the freak and after he started to drive spoke to him.

"Wow Azrail you weren't lying when you said this kid was a prodigy, hell this kid is an anomaly with those energy levels. How did everything go at the police station thoughhhhh." The driver said with quite a rude tone and a big smile on his face.

"Fuck you, training my ass you bastard you did not help at all nor teach me."

"Awhhhhhhhh are you upset? Look you did such good job on your own and how the hell was I supposed to know the mission would get aborted not even a day in huh?"

"Fuck. You." It seemed the freaks name was Azrail and hates the driver a lot. I'm shocked the driver isn't scared at all though, how strong is that guy?

"Well anyway, you back their what's your name?" The driver asked me, I guess I have to tell him since my life is in his hands.

"Blaze."

"Blaze huh, how generic. Well you do have red hair, so I guess naming you wasn't all that hard."

His words really pissed me off, my mother gave me that name and it's the only thing I can treasure. It's the only reason I decided to live in the first place. My name is the only thing I have and I will make everyone respect it.

These people keep saying I'm special, so that means I have value. I will take my special treatment to forge myself into a new human, then I will show everyone what the name Blaze truly means.

"What are we going to do with this kid now?" Azrail asked the driver to which the driver paused for a while before answering.

"Honestly I have no clue, a lot has happened today which has caused a lot of plans changing. The first being the war with Maru coming to an end. The second was your actions today which has not only put you under a scope, but the VIA as well. Then there's the third which is having a prodigy seemingly pop out of nowhere.

The academy has also dropped a bomb on us stating all our students that we are sending have to show up a week before school starts. That means we quite literally only have 6 days left to train you." The driver stated which not only caused a great shock to me but also Azrail who looked to be lost in thought.

".... Wow today really has been quite the day, but how did the war end without me noticing and it seemed like the citizens did not know as well?"

"Well that information has yet to be made publicly, it'll happen in two weeks and by then you will be long gone. That really isn't the important part though, us having only 6 days to train you is. All of my plans having literally gone in the dumpster in the time span of twelve hours."

"Is there anything you can really teach in that timespan though? Even with the two weeks I had that was still really pushing it."

The two continued to speak about this topic for quite a while, I didn't really care that much so I was left with my own thoughts. My mother's dead body was still stuck vividly in my head so closing my eyes was not an option.

I didn't even have time to grieve for her. It seemed like the higher ups in Volestia had plans for me and there wasn't anything I could do to go against them.

This was not my first time losing someone close to me, I have been down this road before, but someone was always there to cheer me up. Now I have no one but myself and quite frankly I didn't like myself to begin with.

My only goals are to get stronger and learn what my surroundings are. Once I know what everyone's true goals and desires are is when I can really decide what I want to do.

I can either become the flame that destroys everything or be the flame that gives everyone light.

Currently with the way things have been going I want to destroy everything just like what the world did to me. Why would I give people hope when they kill mine. I hope that one day I can find an answer to this question.

I'm not dumb enough to think everyone is bad but are people good enough to make me not kill them is the question.

Although my thoughts have gone to an extremely dark place these two have not seemed to have noticed and there arguing has not stopped. I wish I could make these two shut up, but I am nowhere near strong enough to do so.

Thinking about it now, it would be nice to someday boss around people like this, it would really give me some joy.

'I wonder, should I become a King?'

After having this crazy thought, I started to feel myself smile which might have given me my answer.
