Chapter 239: Fault
Chapter 239: Fault
But Camy didn't respond and was laying still. She shook her and even waved her hand in front of her eyes to wake her up from her daydreaming but to no avail. She was now sitting down in front of Camy and was calling her repeatedly.
When she finally looked at her, her gaze was different. She was not her old Camy. She was indifferent, cold and her eyes were blank like a dead sea. It didn't contain her usual twinkle in her eyes.
Seeing her gaze, the realization hit Ceil, that Camy was not a human anymore. She was a vampire. Ceil started crying vigorously again. She was remembering how Camy got bit by a vampire and the turn of events from then.
--
Arthur had been careful earlier when he killed Dennis. Shoving his body under the desk, it made it impossible for anyone to see. You could only tell something happened here if you had a strong nose to detect blood. And luckily, most of the blood was just spilled on Dennis' own body.
Luck you say, skill would suit here.
"Oh yes. He stood up and waltzed to her. Grabbing her by the waist, he started dancing with her as his flirting continued, making the little maid all flustered.
"Lord." She choked in fear.
"What is it darling?"
"You, you need to tell me that Lord. What is it?"
"Don't mind me. I was just bored so I wanted company for the night. Was just the feeling of chatting with someone and you just came to my mind."
"Aaah!"
"So, tell me, did you sign up to be a maid in the castle for yourself? I just discovered that I know nothing about you, so care to fill me in"
Laura who was treading on thin ice, at this moment was all charmed by Arthur.
How can one not be?
He was handsome, flirty and so good at impressing anyone. Resisting him was hard, and as a maiden, it was near impossible.
"Head butler Dennis took me in. He saw me at a market and pitied me for my miserable life. He was a kind man, who groomed me, helped me, and did everything for me"
"Dennis was a good man"
"He was"
"So that's how you ended up being made in my castle?"
"Yes lord," she nodded.
Arthur continued with his dancing as well as flirting and led her to his bed. Pressing her body with his weight.
"So, you wanted a peaceful life. Am I right?"
She smiled in response, sucking a deep breath as Arthur kissed her neck. His hot breath tickled her insides, as something inside her ignited. Her whole body was on fire.
"Lord" she moaned.
"So, why did you tie the talisman around Camy's neck?" The moment he said this, her body stopped moving. All the pleasure evaporated as it felt like someone threw water from a cold bucket on her.
She met Arthur's eyes and they were cold, filled with malice.
"What...?" She played dumb but in no time, he grabbed her neck, choking her.
"Don't. Just don't dare to test my patience and play dumb. Tell me, why did you do that? And who asked you to do that?"
Cough cough.
She had a cough when he released her neck. Gasping for breath, her face turned red. Arthur stepped down from the bed as he waited for his answers.
"He asked me to do it"
"Who?"
--
"Hector, the dark triad member. I didn't know who he was earlier but after the attack on the castle, I got to know who he was. He came to meet me inside the slave establishment. He said he has a way to get me out of here. Believe me, lord, the Slave establishment is a place where you wouldn't want to go even in your worst nightmares. It was hell, maybe calling it a hell would be an understatement."
"He promised me, and I couldn't resist a flying ticket. In return, all I had to do was tie a necklace around Miss Camy's neck" She went on.
"As he instructed, I played along. I met Dennis and as Hector promised, I was set out free and led a life that I always wished for."
"Who was the one that gave you the talisman? And when?"
"It was Hector, during the attack on the castle. He sneaked inside and protected both Dennis and me and gave me a talisman. He said if I don't keep my promise, he will take my freedom back. I had no choice. I told Dennis everything. He was enraged at first but then agreed to help me. And we went on with the plan"
Ha!
"So that's what happened. What a lame trick but I have to admit, you caught me for my carelessness Vladella. Sneaking in a witch-bitch in my castle"
He dragged her near his study table and showed her the dead body of Dennis.
"Recognize him? It's your dear Dennis"
"No" She screamed loudly as tears fell from her eyes.
"I beg you, I beg you, I beg you. Please don't kill me"
"Alright then, I will send you to your home, slave establishment. How does it sound?"
"Pretty good right?"
"No, don't kill me" Her whole body started shaking when she heard the word 'slave establishment'. No sane person would make a choice to go there"
Arthur scoffed.
"Don't want to?"
Laura refused as she cried vehemently.
"Then tell me what more you know"
"I don't know anything," she cried.
"Oh, you don't? Then let me tell you something."
"I hate traitors. And you being someone from which bloodline, screwed up big time. It makes me extremely pissed off. "
"Please don't be mad at me lord. It wasn't my fault. I didn't have much of a choice" She begged.
"What if I told you, there is a way. I could forgive you, but you need to answer my question first"
"I will answer anything but please just spare me"
"Alright. Then tell me what you will choose. Do I spare your life, or should I kill you and let Dennis come back to life?"
