Volume 2 Chapter 15: Finding New Ingredients
"Is it really alright for me to go out?" Keith tilted his head. It has been a day since he worked on the resting area.
He was inside a carriage instead. Derek smiled, "It's fine. You handed the blueprints to Michael. There's no need to worry about it."
"Young Master shouldn't be focusing on that work," May added.
Michael told them to go out. He and the knights would finish the resting area. It was going to be training for the knights.
"You're right." Keith was detailed when he drew his blueprints. But he felt slightly off as he let Michael do it with the knights. It didn't seem right with him. While Keith sighed, Fira had an eager expression as she swayed her body back and forth.
"Gonna see some new veggies." The only thought in her head was to grow new vegetables. And for Keith to cook them and make something good.
"Fira, remember to hide in my collar."
"Understood!" Fira had to hide in his shirt. What would happen if they saw a spirit? The Samui was already a thing.
Keith watched the carriage enter the town. When the two got out, Keith smiled as the townspeople greeted them,
"Greetings, Young Masters!"
"It's great to see you!"
"Hello, everyone!" Keith waved his hand. He had become a staple around the town. He had been coming in and out of town that it became the norm.
"Let's head to the vendors!" They need to search for new vegetables.
"Mmhmm!" Like that, the group started to move. As they moved,
"Hello, Young Master!" Keith turned and returned his greeting, "Hello, Sasha!" She was the owner of the restaurant where Keith handed the recipe.
Because of it, his fame shot through the roof.
"Are you out for ingredients?" Keith noticed the two large bags in her hand. Sasha nodded, "Are you here to buy more ingredients?"
"Mmmhmm! Going to search for new vegetables!"
"What dish did you cook up?" Sasha laughed as she stared at his grin.
"Michael told you?" Keith shook his head. He already knew who was the one who revealed this.
"You can't blame him. Do you understand how much he and the rest of the knights talk about your cooking?" It wasn't just one person who was doing this. Well, Michael was the main culprit. But May and the others were adding wood to the fire.
They kept talking about Keith's cuteness. What was more, they always talked about the food he made. After William and the rest of the Freed household ate, the rest ate.
Some people didn't believe it at first. The knights were talking so much that it seemed unbelievable. But when they tried the orc steak Keith made, they shut their mouths.
"The town is calling you the genius among geniuses!" Sasha laughed.
"I'm glad people like my cooking. But I think it's overkill to call me a genius." Keith never thought of himself as one.
"Either way, some are hoping for a new recipe. Michael and the rest kept talking about the foods they ate at the Freed Estate. The townspeople were jealous. Also, pop by my restaurant. I'll serve you up an orc steak!"
Sasha said as she walked away from them. Keith turned to May, "So you've been talking about it, huh?" He knew May was a part of this group. She would go with the other maids to the restaurant to eat.
May scratched her head, "I couldn't help it, Young Master! Whenever we talk about food, we always bring you up!" There was no way they couldn't bring him up. Keith was the shining jewel of the estate! Not talking about him would be blasphemy!
Keith laughed, "Alright, but don't talk about me so much. It's embarrassing." Those were Keith's final words as he walked towards the vendors.
"Owner! What kinds of vegetables do you have for me!" Keith shouted toward one of the vegetable sellers.
"Young Master, I have a large selection this time!" The owner had a grin on his face as he showed the new fruits that he brought over. Keith looked over them as he wondered.
Fira, what do you think about these vegetables?
These fruits were picked too soon. They haven't had enough time to ripen. And not enough mana as well.
So you understand. Keith understood these vegetables didn't have enough mana. But these are good vegetables to have. He could grow them in his garden.
He recognized one.
Cucumbers. There were also other vegetables Keith had never seen. One of them was shaped like a rectangle. The other is a star.
Fira, can these be grown?
MMhmm! I can finish growing them in about a week. Fira was confident.
"Alright, I want these. Also, do you have the seeds for them too?" Keith asked.
"I have it here, Young Master." This case was the drill between them. Keith would ask for the seeds as well. The vendor handed the pouch over to him.
"Thank you." Keith nodded his head as he looked through the other vendors. There was no stopping him and Fira from finding more vegetables.
