Volume 2 Chapter 38: Greeting Party

During breakfast, Keith had made hash browns, scrambled eggs, and some boar belly and chicken breast for everyone to eat. It was a feast. While they all ate,

"Grandpa, you should eat more earth chicken. It's packed with a lot of protein." Keith smiled.

"Sure." Lionel smiled.

"Grandpa?" Sophia and William tilted their heads.

Sophia questioned, "When did the two of you become so close with Keith?" It was only a day since they came here. Yet, these two were so close with the child.

She could tell there was a strong closeness the two had with him.

"Is it strange that we, his grandparents, aren't close with him?" Camelia questioned. She turned to Keith,

"Am I right, Keith?"

"Yeah, Grandma." Keith laughed.

William and Sophia tilted their heads, wondering what happened. But there was one thing they tied it to. The Keith effect. It was not a surprise when it came from him. After finishing breakfast, Camelia turned to Sophia,

"Sophia, I was thinking we should have a greeting party."

Greeting party? Keith tilted his head. He looked at Sophia, and her expression was dark. She sighed,

"Mother, why do I have to do that?"

It was clear to Keith that she didn't like doing it. It was a hassle.

"You have to do it. It's a good way to make connections with other nobles." Camelia declared calmly,

"Also, It's a great way to showcase my grandson's abilities."

"!"

Camelia continued, "Don't you want those nobles to be jealous of us for having Keith?"

"Eh?" Keith let out a weird sound when he heard that.

"I'm in!" Sophia didn't hesitate to say that. Camelia clapped her hands together. She turned to Keith,

"Keith, can you make cookies and other dishes for the event?"

"Sure! I got an idea of what I want to do?! Can I also design the tables and the other things too?!"

Keith looked excited. This would be the first time he would feed others besides his family.

Everyone looked at the excited expression Keith had. What is he going to do? They wondered what was going to happen.

...

I know what I need to do. Keith was lost in thought as he was drawing something on some parchment. Camelia and Sophia watched over him.

But he was too focused on drawing to notice it. He looked up at Camelia,

"Grandma, can I get something like this for each table?" Keith then showed her a drawing.

"Oh, this could be made." Keith smiled, "Alright. Now I need to think of the dishes to cook."

"Pace yourself, Dear." Sophia was worried.

"Don't worry, Mother. I'm fine! I'm going to make it perfect!"

"Thank you, dear," Sophia smiled when she heard that. Her son was too thoughtful!

...

While Keith focused on designing the area, Sophia and Camelia weren't doing nothing.

They were sending invitations to everyone they knew.

Many noblewomen became interested in this. That was because the Grand Duchess was the one who did it.

But the other one was Marchioness Freed.

She was rare.

She lived in the cold region, so there wasn't any contact with her. And in the royal castle,

The queen, Thalia, stared at the invitation she received. It's definitely the grand duchess who did this. She and Sophia were friends. And she knew Sophia wasn't the type to invite people.

It would be great for her to meet other nobles. Thalia had other thoughts about this.

...

On the day of the party, many carriages arrived in front of the Grand Duchess's estate.

"Greetings, Grand Duchess, Marchioness. It's an honor to meet you." The noblewoman greeted Sophia and Camelia as they entered. Sophia and Camelia were dressed up,

"It's nice to meet you all. Please follow our butler and maids to the venue." The noblewomen and their daughter followed the butler and maids to it.

"Sophia, keep your expression up."

"I know." Sophia's expression was falling apart as she greeted them. It was hard keeping up this mask.

"Don't mess up Keith's hard work." Camelia lectured.

"I will never let anything happen to Keith's work." Sophia's eyes were lit with fire. She won't let anything happen to him! As more and more people started to arrive,

"It seemed I'm the last one to arrive." Thalia smiled as she got out of her carriage.
