Meeting
Meeting
Byron stayed and chatted a bit longer after that before heading back to the city. I on the otherhand stayed here preparing the food for when my pokemon return from wherever they were. I simply prepared the prey hunted by them the previous day and roasted it over the fire at an angle so it didn't burn while turning it every now and then to get an even cook. It was a simple dish true but there was nothing that said simplicity couldn't be delicious. My pokemon, the meat eaters that is, appreciated this meal all the same after all.-
Over the next few days I and my team waited patiently in this way until it was Wednesday and my steel type training was scheduled with Byron. In the morning after breakfast I balled up my team minus Hades as per usual and headed back to Canalave. The city was a sleepy as ever with few people other than trainers out and about. I drew the attention of these trainers as some recognized me and others simply noticed the abnormally tall muscular man with few clothes on and a long glowing spear on his back.-
Not drawing attention was in fact quite hard for me if I didn't actively attempt to do so and even then it was an uphill battle given my hard to miss characteristics. I like usual ignored this attention and made my way to the gym where there was some trainers rather upset that Byron wasn't taking challengers today. "What do you mean he has other commitments!? Taking challenges is literally his job as a gym leader!" one clearly entitled guy shouted at the receptionist who was maintaining their professionalism quite well.-
"Unless the gym leader has scheduled something else with ample time in advance." I said calmly as I walked up. "What?" the guy questioned angrily as he turned around to probably lay into me only to freeze at my form that towered over him. "You seem to forget the rest of the rule regarding gym challenges so I was correcting you. The full rule is that a gym leader may not reject a challenge UNLESS they have scheduled something else with ample time in advance. In this case Byron has had this day scheduled for nearly a week now and thus hasn't failed in his duty." I said calmly.-
"And who are you supposed to be, some sort of league expert or something?" the guy demanded once his over inflated sense of importance snapped him out of his fearful state. "Alexander Drake, Elite trainer and currently the only variant specialist in the world. I am also the prior commitment that Byron had scheduled for though I am not here to battle him." I introduced myself casually. The guy scowled "So you are the reason I can't get my badge today! I demand that you cancel your appointment with the gym leader at once so that your betters can go about their business unimpeded." the guy said seriously.-
I flared my aura and suppressed him with it immediately forcing him to his knees. "Listen closely and listen well because you don't want to find out what will happen if I have to repeat myself. I don't care who you are related to or how important you think you are. You are too week to demand anything of me or Byron or anyone working for the league for that matter and if I catch you doing it again I'll discipline you like your parents clearly failed to." I said firmly before retracting my aura and nodding to the receptionist before walking through the doors leading back.-
Entitled little bastards like that needed a reality check to be set straight and since I didn't give a shit about offending most people I was the perfect person to do so. I had already caused a serious wound to the Joy clan because of what happened in Hoenn and I VERY much doubted that the guy was related to one of the maybe three people in the world who I actually might hesitate to offend if it came to it.-
The first person was naturally Professor Oak who despite not exerting his influence often definitely had enough to make me public enemy number one if he wanted to. You think that wouldn't be enough for someone like me to care about but you should keep in mind if enough ants come together even an elephant will fall. I was strong but against the worlds population I would be nearly helpless. The second person I would prefer not offending is Arceus for reasons that should be obvious. Yes I considered Arceus a person, why wouldn't it be when I considered even most normal pokemon people?-
The final person I'd prefer not offending was Giratina since I was sort of carrying around a blessing from it that let it low jack my ass so there was no escape if I made it mad. That was it as far as people I actually would care about offending indirectly like this and I VERY much doubted at guy was related to any of them. Hell the only human related to Giratina as far as I am aware of at this time was me and last I checked I was in the gods good books.-
As for Arceus and Oak one was asleep if my lore wasn't wrong and the others connections were public knowledge, hell even the trainers sponsored by Oak held a special status in the leagues eyes and thus were regularly showed off to the public. Professor Oak had long since proven that he had a gift for sniffing out talent and potential and had a shining record of backing some seriously important people in his life. Anyways my footsteps echoed off the metallic floor as I walked to the back of the gym where Byron was waiting.-
"You sure do make things interesting don't you? Can't say I disapprove how you handled the boy either as from what I saw he had it coming." Byron said with a smile as he leaned against a large Aggron that watched me with sharp blue eyes. I shrugged "Entitled dicks like that need a reality check every now and again and he was unlucky enough that I was around to give it to him. Mind if I let out my team?" I asked and he shook his head "Nah, go for it." he said casually and I wasted no time doing so.
