Chapter 76 - The Truth That Could Not Be Found
Chapter 76: The Truth That Could Not Be Found
After Wu Hao hung up the phone, the people from the Civil Affairs Bureau immediately called Shen Zhicai’s assistant.
Shen Zhicai went back home to look for the household registry, but it had disappeared.
“Damn it! It’s over.” Shen Zhicai didn’t believe that the registry could have been stolen. “It seems she already knows everything. I didn’t expect her to be so scheming at such a young age. We have to be on guard.”
“Dear, what should we do?” Pan Ru was a little afraid.
After all, she was only a woman. She couldn’t withstand any storms or waves and all she knew was to enjoy prosperity and wealth.
“I’ll take care of this, so you don’t have to worry.” Although they were husband and wife, there were still some things that should be kept secret.
At that moment, his phone rang. It was his assistant.
“Director Shen, the Civil Affairs Bureau had called. They said that Miss Shen Chengjing’s household registration is currently unchanged and that she is still unmarried,” the assistant reported respectfully.
Hearing this, Shen Zhicai hung up the phone.
He was puzzled. If she wasn’t getting married, why did she take the registry?
“Dear, how is it?” Pan Ru asked anxiously.
“She’s not married yet. Find an opportunity tomorrow to find her and get the household registry back.” Shen Zhicai held his phone with his eyes full of cleverness.
He never allowed anyone to escape his control, especially for someone like Shen Chengjing.
“Okay, that’s good. I’ll leave at dawn.” Pan Ru was afraid of losing her status, so she kept nodding her head.
Birds could be heard chirping from outside the window during the early morning in Moh Park. After Shen Chengjing awoke, she got up and walked towards the French window. She opened it to look upon the scenery, trying her best to forget what happened yesterday.
At that moment, her phone rang. It was Agent Bai. “Hello, Sister Bai.”
“Miss Shen, I apologize. Because the production team was in a mess last night, I heard from the director that he had to reschedule the shoot, so, for that reason, I’m specially giving you three days off. I also heard that you weren’t feeling too good, so please rest well and recuperate. I’m hopeful for your complete recovery.”
“Thank you, Sister Bai.” When she heard Agent Bai’s words, she heaved a sigh of relief. She also wondered if she should treat her to something, as her emotions were definitely unstable right now, so it would be very difficult for her to get into the mood to shoot. Even if she tried her hardest to forget, it would still take some time.
After hanging up, she changed into a new set of clothes before preparing to look for Liu Sijie to distract her.
Pan Ru did not sleep well that night. She was thinking of ways to look for Shen Chengjing when she realized something she had missed. Where did Shen Chengjing live? She was busy with her acting right now, so it was impossible for her to be in school. It wasn’t easy for her to obtain Shen Chengjing’s film crew’s number from Shen Ziqian, but then she found out that they were going on a three-day break.
She could only resort to finding Liu Sijie’s place, in the hopes of dragging Shen Chengjing out.
“Cheng, come quickly! A crazy woman has broken into my house this morning,” Liu Sijie said over the phone. Shen Chengjing could vaguely hear sounds of fighting.
She didn’t hesitate much before immediately heading downstairs to prepare to go out.
“Madam.” At that moment, a simple-looking, dark-skinned, and burly man stood outside, as if he had been waiting for her all along.
“You are?” She asked, puzzled. ‘Where did this person come from?’ She looked at him warily.
“Madam, you can call me Ah Ze. From now on, I’ll be your chauffeur.”
‘I’m also your bodyguard,’ he didn’t say this out loud as he was afraid he’d scare her.
While she was puzzled, he continued, “Because Moh Park is quite detached from the outside world, it’s troublesome for you to take the bus, right? So, Brother Chen had asked me to be your chauffeur. Do you think Ah Ze is too stupid?”
He scratched his head in embarrassment as he did not dare to look at her.
“Who said anything about being ‘stupid’?” When she heard that he was Moh Yanchen’s man, she stopped arguing.
“Ah Ze, drive me somewhere.”
