Chapter 286 286: The End Of The Abyss Starts Now [Pt3]
"Did you hear? The Rocx academy, the resistance, and the remaining tower is planning an attack on the abyss. Do you want to join them as well?"
The King of the western empire asked his loyal advisor and the duke who had been loyal to him forever. The news of the abyss's collapse had reached their ears as well and most of the nobility in their kingdom had freaked out.
It was such a tough time when no one knew what to do. No one had ever thought that a day like this would come.
"...."
The duke remained tight-lipped, his eyes not meeting his king's. He wanted to join that central alliance but he did not want to betray his king for his wish.
"I know you want to go Noctis, so you should head out. Be careful out there and come back alive."
Noctis flinched at being caught by his king with his thoughts but he had finally gotten permission to go out.
It was time to head out now and the king watched his loyal duke head out to a certain death. He had seen a lot in the future and it was only after a certain point in time that everything went hazy.
The future of earth was still uncertain for now. But there were only two possible outcomes for them.
"I wonder what choice Aurora would choose. In the end, the fate of this earth might come down to her and her final wish."
The king retired to his room, not too bothered with leaving his room. If the earth ended up being destroyed then there would be no place humans would be able to escape.
With the magic becoming thinner in the atmosphere, the whole world structure would start to collapse soon. The king was responsible for the Western empire so he needed to hold the grounds.
The floating island should not fall until the very end and their king would make sure that it stayed afloat.
"This is goodbye for real. Win or lose, I will not live to see the end."
Things were finally ending and it could not have gone in a worse direction than this.

"More and more people are joining our alliance every minute but I still feel uncertain. I don't know why I feel like I am forgetting something."
No matter how much Rita thought about it, she could not find it in herself to chase her feeling of curiosity.
The world felt grayer without Aurora in it. All the fun had been drained from Rita's world and even the desire to breathe was getting harder.
"Don't let Aurora's loss hinder your thought progress or you will lose her forever. Think of it as a mission and you will be ready to go."
Rita knew that Quince was right and he was only trying to cheer her up. But his words irritated Rita a little.
"You will be going after the southern district's head, right? Aurora's mother?"
Rita asked as she tried to reel her disappointment and frustration back. She will channel it all once she was in the abyss.
"She is not Aurora's mother. I am sure that Lady Dheva knows something about the abyss since she played a huge role in finding the final door of the abyss. It was also she who created the administrator a long time ago."
Clove's words were soft but they were impactful. Rita wanted to ignore her for what she had done to Aurora but it was impossible.
The more Rita tried to ignore Clove, the more her attention was being diverted toward the blond. She had seen how Aurora had spoken to Clove and despite the age difference, something was going on between them.
And Rita did not like that fact at all. She had loved Aurora first and she was sure that Aurora felt something for her as well. So she would not allow a new entry like Clove to butt in.
But it was all secondary to getting Aurora back first.
"Anyway, we all will be going after Lady Dheva first since she is in the abyss as well. You both are going to follow your roles and not go off on your own, did you hear me?"
Quince warned the two females and they looked away from each other. Their relationship was getting worse with their every interaction.
Ideally, it would be best to separate them but they could not afford to shift the groups. Their group was marked for offense and effectiveness. They could not afford to miss even a single person right now.
The trio fell silent and the door was shaped open by Astoria and Rex. they were heading this small group and the only one not here right now was Alexander.
"Remember, this is our last stand. Win or lose, this will be the end of everything. So go out there and exert all your effort."
Rex stood in front of the door with his head held high. He was ready to head out and save Elysia.
"I know that many of you have your grievances and a lot of problems with each other, but you all should keep your problems to yourself. Do not bring your fights into your mission."
Rita and Clove looked away as they both felt eyes on their actions.
They were not the only ones who were fighting but they were the only ones whose fight was so forceful and loud.
"Let this attack begin."
They all headed out toward the abyss. The gate was closed in front of them but that was not going to stop them.
Rex inserted the key he had stolen from the southern empire but the gate refused to give way. It was a huge problem that they had not seen coming.
"Fuck, now what should we do?"
Quince asked as he looked at the door. It was a tall and imposing wall in front of them that was not reacting at all.
"Everyone, change in plans. We are going after Lady Dheva first and force her to hand over the key to us."
Everyone cheered hearing his words. A lot of people in the group had their lives changed irreversibly by Lady Dheva's actions so they did not like her. It was a chance for them to take revenge.
The side castle where Lady Dheva was situated was located on the outside. It was a short walk but dangerous nonetheless.
The group only had a limited amount of magic left in between them and they had to use it wisely. Not everyone can use the right kind of magic as well.
"Those who do not want to die, stand out right now."
No one stepped back from this fight. It was the most important fight for most of them and they were ready to lay their lives down.
"Then, let's hurry up and get rid of the last obstacle in our way. It is Lady Dheva first and the abyss later."
Rex sounded confident but he was a little conflicted right now. Out of everyone unaccounted for, the one he was most concerned about was his stepmother and her involvement.
She was a wild factor in this fight but who knew what side she will take during this fight?

"Everyone is so noisy today. I cannot believe that they think they can win over me. I will need to beat it into their head so that they cannot go against the abyss."
Lady Dheva was in a half-dazed state, her being filled with power.
Since she had contributed a lot to the outcome, the abyss had bestowed her with power. It had not given her a core but the authority Lady Dheva had gotten had made her feel whole for the first time in her life.
The world was bright and full of color for her now.
She was connected to the outside of the tower and had been tasked to ensure that no one could enter her. So far, she had taken her duty seriously and allowed no one to enter the abyss.
And these people will not be able to make her step back from her duty. She would kill these people and offer their bodies to their bodies to the abyss.
"Time to head out and take care of some pests. Soon, the abyss will leave this world and take me with it."
Lady Dheva had no name and identity if not for the abyss. The abyss was what made Lady Dheva and it was also the abyss that would become the reason for her living.
Lady Dheva raised her hand and the shadows rose from the ground. It was a display of power that left most people reeling back.
Since the world was losing more and more magic, to be able to mutter up even this much was nothing less than a miracle.
But Lady Dheva was being backed by the abyss and she had access to a huge quantity of magic at her disposal. It would help her win this fight.
