Chapter 43 - Master, I’m Getting a Divorce
Chapter 43: Master, I’m Getting a Divorce
The atmosphere turned awkward. Du Jiuyuan remained silent. The only sound in the room was the chewing of Yin Hua’s pastry.
Du Jiuyuan’s expression turned serious. “Master, I’m getting a divorce.”
Yin Hua put down the pastry in her hand, a little surprised. Then, she stood up. “I’ve said it before. Marriage is the tomb of love! Where’s Ji Jingchen now? I’m going to settle the score with him!”
Du Jiuyuan’s eyes were filled with tears. She sobbed and explained, “I was the one who initiated the divorce.”
“Back then, I wanted to send you overseas to study. You refused to go no matter what. Your mind was filled with that rascal, Ji. You stepped into the ‘grave of love’. Why are you suddenly enlightened now?” Yin Hua was stunned when she heard Du Jiuyuan’s words.
“Back then, I was blinded by love. I was too hot-headed and didn’t listen to your warning. Now, I’m just like a lost lamb. Please give me a chance to turn over a new leaf,” Du Jiuyuan lowered her head, wiped tears from the corners of her eyes, and said sincerely.
Back then, her master wanted to send her to study abroad, but her eyes were filled with Ji Jingchen only. She refused to go and even had a big fight with her master. Because of that, her master unilaterally cut off the master-disciple relationship and didn’t open the door for her for several years. They have never seen each other since then.
Today, she finally told her master that she was getting a divorce, thus her master had to stand up for her. For the sake of Ji Jingchen, Du Jiuyuan didn’t look like herself anymore. She had let down her master, who had been fully dedicated towards her growth.
“I know that you are the kind of person who won’t turn back even if you hit a brick wall. Don’t you know what kind of place is the Ji family? You know full well that it is as dangerous as a dragon or tiger’s den, yet you still dared to dig into it. Are you stupid?” Yin Hua sighed, the anger she felt toward Du Jiuyuan had long disappeared, and what replaced it was feelings of disappointment.
“Yes, Master. I have fully realized my mistake. Please don’t be angry with me and refuse to see me anymore,” Du Jiuyuan said in a fawning tone.
Yin Hua slowly picked up a piece of pastry and tasted it carefully. Then, she wiped her hands and said, “Tell me! What kind of clothes do you want?”
Du Jiuyuan took out her phone and searched for a photo of Luoluo, showing it to Yin Hua.
“This is a mischievous little girl who likes new things. She’s quite popular lately. The clothes are for her to wear to a banquet,” Du Jiuyuan told Yin Hua about her evaluation of Luoluo after seeing her.
Yin Hua took out her reading glasses and looked at the picture carefully. “She’s not bad looking, but she doesn’t look as good as you.”
“Master, please don’t tease me. She’s a popular celebrity. I’m just a village girl from the countryside who recently got divorced.”
“Weren’t you very confident and determined to defeat those other women before marrying Ji Jingchen? What happened?” Yin Hua was worried for Du Jiuyuan. Back then, she couldn’t persuade Du Jiuyuan to forget about marrying Ji Jingchen no matter what.
“The past is like the wind. Master, please don’t mention it anymore. This is her body measurements.” Du Jiuyuan found a pen and paper and wrote down Luoluo’s size.
Seeing that Du Jiuyuan didn’t want to reminisce about the past, Yin Hua didn’t say anything more. She first let Du Jiuyuan draw a few design drawings and made some changes herself. The two of them worked until late at night and completed three design drawings in the end.
“Fortunately, you didn’t forget what you learned. Go and cook for me. I’ll finalize the draft.” Yin Hua finally had a smile on her face. Looking at the three design drawings in front of her, she instructed Du Jiuyuan to cook.
“Alright…”
It wasn’t that Du Jiuyuan was lazy, but she only had a week. If she wanted to make a set of pure handmade banquet attire, she could only turn to her master. The relationship between the two finally eased, and it also made Du Jiuyuan feel a huge weight being lifted off her heart.
Three days later, under her master’s unique sewing skills, the banquet gown she made for Luoluo was completed. These few days, to make it convenient for her to stay at her master’s place, Du Jiuyuan was responsible for cooking and doing some small chores.
Luoluo also made a phone call that day. Her words implied that Loki’s side was already prepared. Du Jiuyuan asked for the address and prepared to go with the clothes.
Before leaving, Du Jiuyuan hugged her master. “Master, thank you. I won’t let you down this time.” After saying that, Du Jiuyuan let go of her master’s hand and left.
“Silly girl, you will always be my most outstanding disciple.” Yin Hua stood where she was and watched Du Jiuyuan’s gradually disappearing figure. Tears flowed from the corners of her eyes as she muttered to herself.
…
Ling Jin had set up a studio for Luoluo specifically so that she could do whatever she pleased. When Du Jiuyuan arrived at the studio in her eye-catching car, Luoluo and Loki had been waiting for a while.
“You’re finally here.” When Luoluo saw Du Jiuyuan, a smile immediately appeared on her face. She had been looking forward to Du Jiuyuan’s arrival.
“Miss Luoluo, this is for you.” Compared to Luoluo’s tone, Du Jiuyuan’s tone was far calmer.
“I can’t wait to try it on. I’ve already tried on the clothes Loki designed for me.” Luoluo seems to be already very close with Du Jiuyuan.
Du Jiuyuan glanced at the gown Loki designed from the corner of her eyes. Her confidence increased.
