After Having Everything Taken Away, She Returns As A God

Chapter 29: Hold Up The Sky

Chapter 29: Hold Up The Sky

Zuo Xianyu had gone to great lengths to gather information related to Heavenly Doctor Ghosthand, but her search yielded no valuable leads.

It was evident that either the information had been encrypted or entirely erased.

Regardless, it only further emphasized the elusive and extraordinary nature of Heavenly Doctor Ghosthand.

Through her network of contacts in the city of Yan, she learned that not only the Ning family but also the Mo and Ji families were desperately searching for this mysterious figure.

Despite the collective effort of these prestigious families, no one had a single clue.

Hope had started to wane in Zuo Xianyu's heart.

Four years ago, any information on Heavenly Doctor Ghosthand in the Central Plains had surfaced only because the miracle doctor had deliberately revealed themselves.

It was rumored that someone had obstructed their path, and in their haste, they revived a patient who had been on the brink of death.

Everyone whispered that the Ghosthand had an eccentric temperament and should not be offended.

"Oh?" Si Fuqing chuckled, lifting her chin. "Such an childish name. Why should I care?"

Zuo Xianyu felt her breath catch. "You—"

Why was she even discussing this with Si Fuqing? It was like playing a lute to a cow.

Si Fuqing was just an ordinary person and had no reason to be involved in such matters.

Taking a deep breath to calm her rising anger.

Zuo Xianyu turned her head away, refusing to look at Si Fuqing.

"You're done for, Si Fuqing!" Zuo Qingya laughed maliciously. "If you insult Heavenly Doctor Ghosthand like this, forget about maintaining a good relationship with Young Master Yu."

Si Fuqing raised an eyebrow. "What's it to you?"

She cursed at herself, why would anyone care?

"I'll definitely tell Young Master Yu. Just you wait," Zuo Qingya sneered.

Si Fuqing acknowledged her, nonchalant.

Nearby, Yu Yao and some young masters he knew were standing together.

"See, Yu Yao, I told you, Si Fuqing is an ungrateful person," one of the young masters sneered, lifting his chin slightly. "She even attended the funeral without wearing mourning clothes, despite how highly old Master Zuo regarded her."

Yu Yao didn't even raise his head; he was clearly uninterested in discussing Si Fuqing.

"The Zuo family will certainly annul their adoption agreement with her," the young master continued. "But I doubt it'll be easy; she'll cling to the Zuo family no matter what."

The entertainment industry was a cruel place.

Although Si Fuqing had been marred by scandals, she had at least managed to secure a mentor position on the show "Youth With You," thanks to the Zuo family's support.

Without their backing, she was doomed to be consumed by the industry.

Yu Yao didn't want to listen to anything related to Si Fuqing

Frustrated, Yu Yao adjusted his tie and turned his gaze away, only to notice two oddly dressed young men approaching Zuo Tianfeng.

"What is the meaning of this?" Zuo Tianfeng frowned, clearly annoyed.

"We are Masters of Yin-Yang, disciples of Master Fujisan Shizuka," one of the young men replied, handing over a business card. "Our master was deeply saddened to hear of your father's passing."

"However, our master is currently tied up in East Mulberry, so he specifically asked us to attend the funeral and pay our respect."

Hearing this, Zuo Tianfeng's face lit up. "Master Fujisan Shizuka?"

Although Zuo Tianfeng hadn't heard of Fujisan Shizuka, he was familiar with the Fujisan name.

They were a well-known Yin-Yang family in East Sango.

A Master of Yin-Yang was a person even the great families of Sijiu sought to curry favor with.

Having a Yin-Yang Master anchoring the family was a guarantee of years of prosperity and wealth.

Left dumbfounded, Zuo Tianfeng realized he hadn't known that his late father had ties to the Fujisan clan—a prestigious Yin-Yang family in Dong Sang.

"Ah, you've caught us off-guard. My apologies for the oversight," Zuo Tianfeng's expression surged with enthusiasm as he addressed the two young men.

"We, too, arrived only today; our intrusion is most abrupt," one of the young men replied, a smile curling his lips. "May we pay our respects to the late patriarch?"

"Of course, of course. Right this way," Zuo Tianfeng gestured eagerly, his eyes glinting.

The scene didn't escape the notice of many.

Si Fuqing's ears perked up, her fox-like eyes narrowing slightly.

Snatching away someone's fortune wasn't like catching a cold; there were no symptoms.

If she were to claim that the Zuo family had taken her good fortune, she'd be dismissed as insane.

But she remembered a dream.

A Yin-Yang Master told her she was running low on life's luck.

She suspected that there were more hands in the pot than just the late Zuo patriarch's.

Just Old Master Zuo would not be able to hire a Master of Yin-Yang that could alter people's life.

These two young men might very well be tied to the Yin-Yang Master who had stolen her good luck.

Si Fuqing touched her chin, her eyes shimmering with a tinge of mischief.

Pshhh.

It had been a while since she'd visited Eastern Mulberry. Her fingers were getting itchy.

The funeral concluded swiftly.

Eager to establish ties with the Yin-Yang Masters, Zuo Tianfeng departed first.

The crowd dispersed one by one.

After paying his final respects at the tombstone of the late Zuo patriarch, Yu Xiheng finally turned around.

"Master Yu!" Zuo Qingya seized the opportunity and called out to him. "My sister and I were discussing Heavenly Doctor Ghosthand, and that wretched Si Fuqing dismissed the name as childish. Her ignorance is staggering."

A change finally overtook Yu Xiheng's expression.

The significance of Heavenly Doctor Ghosthand to him was monumental.

The mysterious healer had saved him during his darkest, most despairing moments.

Ignorance was one thing.

But Si Fuqing's behavior was asinine to the extreme—a social blunder beyond remedy.

His disdain for her deepened.

Nevertheless, his refined upbringing prevented him from lashing out at her. He coldly walked past Si Fuqing without sparing her a glance.

"Aiya, Si Fuqing, it seems you have no ride," Zuo Qingya beamed, reveling in her misery. "You'll have to walk back. Don't even think about hitching a ride with my sister; picking you up was already more than you deserved."

No buses or even shared bikes were available nearby.

The sun blazed down, the air dry and scorching.

Zuo Qingya was keen to see how Si Fuqing would make her way back.

If the paparazzi caught her, it would be another scandal.

"Let's go," Zuo Xianyu murmured, casting Si Fuqing an indifferent glance before walking away.

Unfazed, Si Fuqing pocketed her phone and sauntered out of the cemetery.

A row of luxury cars was parked outside, but it was clear that no one was willing to give her a lift.

"Goodbye then, you can walk home," Zuo Qingya sneered. "After all, a bastard remains a bastard."

Just then, a thunderous engine roared to life, as if slicing the air itself, sending leaves swirling in its wake.

A blue car raced into view, revealing only its tail as it approached.

"Holy shit, is he driving backward? Has he lost his mind?" a young socialite exclaimed, his eyes widening in disbelief.

It was a driving style both arrogant and audacious.

Even Yu Xiheng leaned out of his car window, astonished.

"Hey, Yu, isn't that the new limited-edition car? Only ten were made," another socialite observed.

No sooner had he spoken than the car screeched to a halt in front of Si Fuqing, blasting her with exhaust fumes.

The rear window rolled down, and a male voice, as smooth as a breeze bathed in sunlight, softly rippled through the air.

"Come, get in."
