Chapter 48: Radiance

Chapter 48: Radiance

Lemi felt that her brain turned into a state of disorder as if someone had used a chopstick to stir the grey matter in her head and turned it into an oatmeal paste. It was to the point that she felt as if everything in front of her was a dream.

This nostalgic scenery the familiar knight his eye-catching silvery-grey armor as well as his all-too-similar touch

Lemi who was on the verge of slipping into unconsciousness had fixed her dazed eyes onto the side of his face that was within arms reach and obscured by the helmet. Even the noisy sound of the wind that was blowing into this floor whose roof and walls had long disappeared was unable to prevent her astonishment at the glimmering reflection of the silver-grey armor under the beautiful moonlight.

Big brother Radiant As her consciousness blurred Lemi felt like she was dreaming. Her hoarse and fine voice wanted to shout out the name of the knight and catch his attention. And yet her petite body could no longer withstand the burden of her state causing her eyelids to droop downwards.

Have a nice rest. Youll be safe and sound here. Despite not hearing Lemis weak cries Ji Bai crouched his body and gently placed Lemi onto a spacious empty ground all the while dragging his gown through the floor. After he had straightened out her ponytail he then turned his body to face the group of outsiders that had come with bad intentions.

Heh heh! You punk ass knight! Dont you think that I wont recognize you just because you have changed your bloody outfit alright?! Lets see whether or not I can smash your shiny new metal can into pieces! After a brief moment of surprise the troll arrogantly massaged its shoulder as it pointed the spiked club in its hands straight at Ji Bai trying to provoke him. This reaction wasnt limited only to him; the trolls behind it all had a look that suggested they were filled with the utmost confidence right now. They were all shouting about how they could hammer Ji Bai into a circle.

Killing a knight that possessed a sacred ability and then lugging his head back to the tribe was a matter worth bragging about for a month. These young trolls were anxious to win the recognition of their tribal chieftain and were filled with all kinds of killing intent to the point that they could no longer tolerate the murderous desire in their heart.

Only the troll that was standing at the far back who had a knife scar on its face raised a frown. As a veteran soldier that had spent a long time on the battlefield its sense of danger was countless times more astute than these young and inexperienced recruits in front of him. While it stared at the knight wrapped in full-body plate armor in front of it an unknown feeling arose within its mind; it had a nagging thought that the armored-outfit was somewhat familiar as if it had heard of it from somewhere before.

I advise all of you to be cautious. The veteran troll narrowed its eyes and reminded them.

Old Wo did your guts get smaller as you got older? Dont tell me youre afraid of this puny human thats shorter than my arm? Your daddy can crush at least 10 of these chickenshit knights every day! You should go back to your hometown and be a farmer if you only have such a cowardly mentality as a troll warrior!

Hahahaha! Your head will belong to me your daddy! You can die now worm! The young and vigorous trolls maniacally laughed as they surrounded Ji Bai. With a terrifying gale suffused in its trajectory a spiked club that was as thick as a stone pillar was brazenly smashing towards Ji Bai.

The berserk strength contained in it pressed down against the wind causing it to release a mournful cry. Its strength was sufficient enough to pound a large block of steel into a pancake.

Despite all this Ji Bais eyes within the helmet only carried a noticeable calmness as he remained motionless.

Haha! This frail worm has already submitted to its fate!

The troll revealed a fierce glare as it ferociously smashed the spiked club towards Ji Bais head.

Clang!! As metal and metal violently collided a series of shuddering noises resounded.

The ferocious descending spiked club bounced back the instant it made contact with the helmet. Like a mouse that had seen a cat it was shivering like a garlic pounder. When combined with the troll that was holding onto it it currently resembled a puppeteer holding onto a wind-up puppet that was incessantly trembling in a comical manner.

??? The troll that was devilishly grabbing onto the incessantly trembling club had a face filled with cluelessness. He hadnt completely come to terms with exactly what just happened.

Ji Bai went up to the troll and forcefully held onto its neck. Before the troll could make any movement to struggle itself free waves of helplessness flooded into it like seawater.

Only when its own green bodily fluid fully soaked its chest did the troll slowly realize that it could see only half of the knights extremely average iron longsword outside; the other half had already been submerged inside its chest.

Ji Bai stretched his hand and pushed the troll whose luster had disappeared from its eyes off his sword. It lied on the ground like a dead dog not moving the slightest bit.

As Ji Bai placed his hands across the hilt of the sword that stood upright on the ground his chilly gaze swept past the remaining trolls through the gap of the helmet that had all fallen into a daze.

How despicable! Use magic! Hurry up and attack him with magic! A knights armor always has very low magic resistance! When they awoke from their frightened stupor the remaining trolls finally realized what had exactly happened. They hastily distanced themselves from Ji Bai. After swaths of magic power rushed forth from their heart and into their throat they turned into raging green high-temperature flames that erupted outwards.

Ji Bai unhurriedly plunged the sword into the surface of the ground. As he lunged forwards he moved sideways and aimed his shoulder towards the blazing flames coming at him. The sun cross on his shoulder-armor seemingly came to life it released an eye-dazzling silver radiance that was large enough to cover Ji Bais entire body. A medieval shield that had a cross shape imprinted on it had materialized out of nowhere.

The blazing flames that came into contact with the knights shield resembled reflecting rays of light and returned to where they came from.

Ahhhhh!! The trolls suffered the consequences of their actions. Before they could figure out what was going on they were surrounded by their own magical fire. Soon after they had rolled and struggled on the ground they all turned into ash.

Someone escaped? Ji Bai coldly grunted after momentarily staring at a crevice in the corner. He was somewhat in a bad mood for letting a fish slip through his net.

The armor on his body turned into spotless light particles as it fluttered away.

Whoosh whoosh whoosh At this moment the wind pressure surrounding him suddenly increased. Ji Bai raised his head and saw a helicopter currently approaching this ruined building under the moonlit night.
