AI Doctor : From Slave to Beast King

Chapter 151: Military Officer (2)

Damien chuckled lightly.

"Then don't mind if I do," he mimicked her actions and then forked a piece of mango on the fork and took a bite from it. As he snacked on the mangoes, he had to admit that the effect of the mangoes was almost instant.

He felt refreshed and his mind was much clearer than before.

The two siblings finished their meal in silence before Damien went to the library, where he took out all the books that he could find on the imperial family and the transcendental beastmen. There were not many books on these two topics but Damien still somehow managed to wade his way through the important topics.

He was still reading the onset of the transcendental beastmen when someone walked over to his table and set down. A bit annoyed at the person who had disrupted his study time, Damien looked up, and his gaze met with Luke, the personal healer of the Wolfe family.

"What?" Damien asked when he saw that the healer's eyes were glowing with the eagerness of saying something.

He knew this gaze really well after all. When he was working as a resident doctor, many of his juniors came to look for him with the same look in their eyes.

Luke smiled at him and said, "I heard from Xavier that you will be teaching Healer Gavin and Healer Robert the thing called CPR?"

"I am. What about it?"

"Then do you mind teaching me as well?" He asked Damien with a polite smile. "If you don't mind, then I am willing to share some of my books on medicinal books and a few more things. I can also help you by arranging a few medicinal herbs."

"Are you sure?" Damien asked. "Don't say that I took advantage of you later on."

"No, of course not," Luke shook his head and said to Damien, "I am willing to share these things with you in exchange for learning how to perform CPR and sewing back severed nerves."

"As long as I want?"

"As long as you want," agreed Luke.

"Deal," Damien shook hands with the man before closing the book. He was already bored with the thick books and after reading and studying so hard when he was trying to become a doctor, Damien couldn't focus anymore.

Since he was given a chance to get away from studying, Damien decided to hold it until he could not anymore.

"Let's go," Damien said to Luke. "I am going to hold the class at the guild; it's up to you whether you want to come with me or want to reach the guild on your own."

Once he finished speaking, he turned on his feet and walked out of the library with Luke closely behind him.

Damien didn't make any comment when he ran into Xavier and the three men arrived at the guild around one in the afternoon, where he started teaching them about suturing and CPR.

He was half way through the lesson when Healer Robert clapped his hands and said, "This is truly an ingenious and smart move. Though the spells of healers can heal the wounds of a beastman, they do not repair the damage to perfection, which leaves space and chance of the wound festering and getting worse. Sometimes, if the spell is cast hastily and with not enough mana to heal a wound, the beastmen can even die."

"And it is the cause of deaths most of the time," Healer Rober shook his head with a sigh. "Because only a few healers have mana enough to heal such delicate wounds, while the rest are only trying to wade their way to fame."

Damien knew this already. He had read books on healing spells with Healer Gavin and when he asked him why there were no spells to reattach limbs or remove tumours,.

In response, Healer Gavin laughed at him and told him that such a thing did not exist to begin with. According to what Healer Gavin told him, the healers had a limited amount of mana and the degree of injuries that they could heal was directly related to this mana that they had.

Since many healers did not have an unlimited supply of mana, they at most could heal a few injuries that were not severe. As for the high-ranking ones, they could heal severe injuries but to a degree, depending on their own mana and strength.

As for reattaching limbs and taking out tumours, Healer Gavin was certain that even the high priest at the Temple of Ax, couldn't do it.

"This will help us in saving a lot of lives if only we get the hang of it," said Gavin as he picked up the thin veins that Damien had sutured as an example to teach them.

"Indeed," Luke nodded as he finished writing his notes.

"Is Healer Gavin here!?"

A startled and panicked voice echoed in the guild hall causing everyone to pause and look at the man who had rushed in.

"Healer Gavin! You are needed, a military official from the Eren City is here and is calling for you."

'Military officer,' Damien glanced at the man who came looking for Gavin and frowned lightly. Why was a military official looking for Gavin?

"What's the matter?" Gavin got to his feet and asked.

But before the beastman could reply, the military officer rushed in himself.

He was a tall man, dressed in full armour with a thick helmet and a red mohawk. A spear was tied to his back along with a giant axe.

"Healer Gavin, please come with me. While fighting the wild monstrous beasts, many of our soldiers got injured," the man said worriedly. "Their injuries are quite severe and most of them are on the verge of dying. This is an emergency! Please come and save the lives of those soldiers."
