AI Doctor : From Slave to Beast King

Chapter 5: Banppee Wolf Poison

*******************************

Though not everyone walked down the same path, the social stigma against the hyenas was rather strong and they were ostracized by the other tribes.

This was also the reason why the healers refused to take the job. It was mostly likely due to their fear of being scammed out of their payment.

But Damien had his own reasons to treat these patients other than money.

"Are you sure that you want me to leave?" Damien asked the tribe members. "I don't know whether a healer will be taking this case. The chances of such a thing happening are rather low, ain't I right? So, isn't it better to let me take a look at their injuries?"

"Who knows maybe I can heal them better than any healer?"

"Are you going to leave on your own or shall I throw you out?" Robin raised his fist which was the size of Damien's face and showed it to him. "If you are having trouble walking just say it."

Damien clenched his fingers. He could feel that it was not just a threat, this man meant every word that he said—— if he did not leave then this man named Robin would make him leave.

However——

"They are going to die," Damien stated in a cold voice, as Dan activated the skill —— Eye of Observation which allowed Damien to see past the skin and flesh of a patient.

'Cool, this way I will not have to worry about not having an X-ray machine,' thought Damien while he carefully examined the body of the patient lying on the ground.

"You!" Robin turned around and raised his fists to hit Damien but the latter did not even flinch, instead he stared at Robin with a stern expression. He said, "Even if you do not let me treat them, they are going to die. So why not give me a chance?"

He had already examined a few patients and had also received the diagnosis as well as the treatment plans. But unless these people allowed him to treat them, there was nothing Damien could do.

His words struck a chord in the hearts of those who were waiting for the healer to come and treat their loved ones.

This man was right. Because of the hatred and prejudice that everyone had for their tribe, there was no way the healers were going to take their case seriously.

In fact, no one would be coming to help them.

Since that was the case then ——

"I want…ugh… I want to get the treatment," a man with his stomach cut open, groaned while lying on the ground.

"Dear!" The beastwoman on his side was startled upon hearing the words of her husband. This man was not even a healer, was it not dangerous to let him treat her husband?

"I am going to die anyway, so why not try it?" The man said to his wife who wanted to say something but upon seeing the deep wound on the stomach of her husband, she turned silent.

Since they could not wait for death in silence ——-

The woman gritted her teeth and turned to Damien before saying, "Please take a look at my husband's injuries doctor."

"Sure," Damien agreed with a satisfied smirk as he turned to look at the beastmen next to him. "Can you bring some clean water and soap?"

Even though he had sanitiser, it would not be hygienic if he treated this man without washing his hands.

"But——"

"Go," the tribe leader finally spoke up. His stern voice echoed in the silent tribe with an assertive dominance. "This young man is right, no one is going to treat our tribe, since our tribe members are on the verge of dying —— then we might as well try everything and anything instead of helplessly watching our members die."

A grieving expression was softly etched on the face of the tribe leader, as he sighed and remarked mournfully, "At least that way, we can tell ourselves that we tried our best to save them."

Robin pursed his lips hatefully. He did not trust Damien who suddenly arrived at their tribe, it seemed too much of a coincidence.

He turned to glare at Damien and said to him, "You better do as you have claimed. If you fail in saving the lives of my tribesmen then a punch will not be the end of it." After throwing these angry words, the man turned on his feet and walked away. He was going to bring the water and soap as Damien asked.

Damien was amused by the words of the beastman.

However, he did not waste his breath on quibbling with him. His skills were enough to speak.

Robin soon returned with a large pot of water and soap.

Damien used these two things to wash his hands clean before turning to look at the man who was lying on the ground.

"Eye of observation."

[Activating Eye of observation.]

The vision in front of Damien changed immediately as soon as the Eye of observation skill was activated. Now he was looking at a floating screen that showed not only the exterior but also the interior wounds inflicted on this man.

[Poison of Banppee Wolf detected.]

[Herbs required to clean the poison :

Amberfodder, Dwarf castle, Milkapple and Giant's finger.]

[Abdominal aorta, superior mesenteric artery, large arteries are unharmed.]

[No tear in small intestine.]

[The large intestine has received severe damage. Feces have spread in the abdominal cavity.]

Damien's eyebrows furrowed. This injury was much more severe than he expected.

"What's wrong?" When Robin saw that Damien was frowning, he could not help but jeer at him. "Cannot treat his injuries? This is why I asked you to not boast so much."

Damien turned to look at the fool before swiftly turning his gaze away, he turned to look at the tribe leader and said to him, "Go and bring these herbs."

As he spoke, he recited the names of the herbs that he wanted.

"Amberfodder, Dwarf castle, Milkapple and giant's finger? Why do you need them?" The tribe's leader frowned and questioned.

"To treat the Poison of Banppee Wolf."
