Awakened: The Spirit King!

Chapter 103: Divine Sense Explanation!

Hundreds of people crowded the northern streets of the City Covered by the Clouds as they were interested in watching the tournament which the City Lord will hold at dusk to determine who will gain unique cultivation resources and the opportunity to explore the secret spirit realm recently discovered by his third son.

Dusk was to come four hours later, yet the merchants and hard-working wives had already set up stalls near the stadium to sell food and gimmicks to interested wanderers.

Unaware of it all, Lin Hua was fast asleep on the bed.

Her husband, on the other hand, was as tired as her but still wide awake. It was not because he wanted to participate in the tournament but because he was busy exploring the capabilities of his divine sense and couldn't get a wink of sleep.

The first thing he determined about his divine sense was that it was weaker than an immortal but better than a mortal.

The reason behind it was as plain as day to Xie Yang.

A person's soul determined the strength of their divine sense.

His current soul contained one of his three immortal souls, due to which his divine sense was better than crossbreed spiritual cultivators and equal to the spiritual senses of spirit kings.

While there was no comparison between the current state of his soul and the one he had at his peak, it was better than that of a mortal by more than several dozen times.

Thus, his divine sense was as strong as the spiritual sense of a spirit king!

The second thing he determined about his divine sense was that he could use it to scan 1/3rd of a kilometer of the area around him, and he could do it ten times before exhausting all the divine sense in his divine meridian.

The third thing he determined about his divine sense was that the rate at which he recovers it in his divine meridian was impressive.

In only thirty minutes, the divine meridian absorbed the radiation of his soul and converted it into thirty streams of divine sense, awing him so much that he became speechless.

It also made him realize the truth about an event that occurred long, long ago!

"I misjudged the entire situation that occurred ten thousand and 200 years ago." Xie Yang's brows furrowed as if he was thinking about something deeply.

"The immortals were willingly marrying the diverse races of the spirit world and vice versa not because they were following my lead and saying goodbye to diversification and racism but because the result of my research became public as soon as Feng Jiang made a name for himself and they found out that the product of their lovemaking may be a child with spiritual meridians as well as mutant elemental and divine meridians.

They were procreating so furiously that it almost put me to shame because they wanted children whose talent and prospects surpass the strongest ancestors of their races!"

Although he was ten thousand years too late, Xie Yang understood that the members of divine, celestial, and spirit clans started to marry human immortals, and some even went as far as to invade the mortal realm to kidnap or entice young women and men into mating with them, to create a generation of experts.

In a sense, he was the cause of the population boom that happened in the spirit world more than ten thousand years ago.

From merely 4 trillion beings, the population quadrupled to 16 trillion in two hundred years.

Why didn't he realize that sooner? It was because he had deluded himself into believing that the excellent relationship he shared with his seven ideal wives and 3000+ concubines had knocked senses into the beings of the spirit realm, making them understand that racism was a foolish choice and only saying yes to eating the beauty of any race was the right choice.

Xie Yang shrugged, kicking the thoughts of the past to the back of his head.

He focused on finding out the properties of his divine sense.

He found out that exhausting his divine sense would put his divine Meridian to work automatically, meaning he didn't need to waste his time focusing on recovering it. On top of that, after it converts the mostly useless radiation of his soul into divine sense, it will expand slightly, meaning his divine sense capacity will increase, albeit slightly.

Xie Yang smiled.

No matter how small the increase in his divine sense capacity, it was still better than nothing.

The first thing he determined about his divine sense was that he could use it to not only make his sword fly but also control its flight for at most a minute.

However, it felt too mentally straining for him.

Xie Yang sighed, "In my peak, I could control tens of thousands of words by using my soul sense. But now that I lack two of my three immortal souls, even managing to keep on afloat while using a cheat like the divine sense is a challenging task for me."

"I would need to train for ten years or come across unique cultivation resources to use my divine sense for something other than scanning areas, spying, and eavesdropping on other people's conversation unannounced."

"Wait!"

"I still have a way to become a flying sword cultivator!"

"The day Feng Jiang swore loyalty to me, he gave me the design of the ancestral rune of his clan. If I remember correctly, it bestowed its user with total control over wind after putting wind elements into it to activate it. While I don't have elemental wind energy, I can use divine sense to substitute for it. It's definitely worth a try."

Xie Yang tried to recall the ancestral rune of the Feng Clan, but his memories were so extensive that he felt like he was sinking in a deep ocean whose end he couldn't see.

Xie Yang helplessly smiled, "I have no choice but to put this brain of mine to good use. I'm not going to stop until I recall how it looks like!"

While Xie Yang was missing two-thirds of his knowledge, he still had a lot of information in his mind.

He rummaged through them, and after two hours, he got what he needed.

Xie Yang found the design of the Feng Family's ancestral rune extremely complicated. Even though he was an expert at creating talismans, he found it challenging to inscribe them on his sword. Thankfully, he didn't need the entire rune and only a part of it. He didn't want to gain total control over the wind. He wanted to gain control over his sword and the wind around it.

He modified the design of Feng's Family ancestral rune. He was good at it, and it didn't take him more than half an hour to drive a new rune out of it.

He asked the steward to gather the materials he needed to inscribe the rune on the sword. The money was his, and the city lord favored him greatly, so the Steward tried to impress him this time and brought everything he needed to his doorstep within an hour.

Xie Yang inscribed the Sword Control rune on his sword, and he used up a wind spirit core and dozens of other stuff to do so.

His moonlight sword was no longer a normal weapon. It had become a spiritual object with a special effect.

In simpler words, it had become a legendary flying weapon!

When he finished upgrading his moonlight sword, Lin Hua woke up and yawned lazily. She felt sore all over her body, but not even a single sense of pain assaulted her, and that surprised her. She remembered her husband forcing her to take a tortuous bath, for god knows how long. However, it didn't leave any scars or trauma on her body. Instead, she was only feeling sore.

Even her mood was better than before. Her positivity and happiness doubled as she saw her white skin glowing brightly.

She subconsciously turned her head to the mirror, and when she saw her reflection, her eyes widened to the size of saucers.

"OMG! I have become prettier after a nap!"

Her exclamation alerted Xie Yang that she was awake.

He went up to her as he said, "It's one of the permanent benefits of the medicinal bath. The more times you soak in it, the more beautiful you will become. Your skin will glow three times more brightly and become soft after you soak in it for three months."

"That's too amazing."

Lin Hua thought for a moment before adding, "I think many women will go crazy if you make it public."

Lin Hua wasn't wrong.

Many people in the world were willing to endure hellish pain to look a bit better and prettier.

Thus, Xie Yang indeed could profit out of it.

However, Xie Yang still shook his head, expressing direct refusal to her plan.

"The ingredients I need to make my special medicinal bath is expensive than any jewelry in the world. It will be a waste to sell it in the empire in exchange for gold taels and spiritual crystals."

Lin Hua asked, "If it's so costly, why did you use it on me?"

Xie Yang answered, "Because you're my wife, and it's my duty and desire to get the best for you."
