Back For My Daughter

Chapter 1262 What Are They Hiding?

In the City High School.

Yuan Meng sat beside Ning Wei since it was lunch break.

"Sister Meng, will Qian go to his work today right away?"

Ning Wei asked with a perplexed look on her face.

"Hmm, he should be."

Taking a bit of the dumpling, Yuan Meng nodded.

"Then we should not let him help much or he won't be able to take proper rest."

Ning Wei added with a worried look.

With the time she had been staying with them, she had never seen Ye Qian really resting by himself, in fact, she even wondered if he would sleep during the night.

"Hmm."

Yuan Meng simply nodded, causing Ning Wei to purse her lips.

"Sister Meng, why are you acting as if this is not an issue, aren't you worried about your husband?"

Yuan Meng raised both of her brows and continued.

"I am, and will try to not make him lose his health, but that doesn't mean that I will stop him from doing something that will bring him some happiness and calmness."

Then a teasing smile appeared on her lisp as she looked at Ning Wei and asked.

"But Sister Wei, I can ask a similar question, why are you so much worried about my HUSBAND?"

Yuan Meng's question caused Ning Wei to almost choke on the bite that she had just taken.

"COUGH COUGH!"

"Here, have some water."

Yuan Meng giggled and patted her back.

"Sister Meng, you can't always be joking."

Nign Wei looked at Yuan Meng in both tears and laughter not knowing what to say.

Such words from her would always cause her to have a mini heart attack, she just could not say if Yuan Meng was really fooling with her mind and teasing her or really saying this in seriousness.

"Hehe."

Yuan Meng giggled and said nothing in response as she glanced around and saw that Yang Kun was nowhere to be seen.

"Where is that fool?"

"Umm, he said that he was not feeling well and went away."

Ning Wei answered that she was here before the lunch break started.

"He seemed pretty irritated."

Ning Wei added as Yuan Meng nodded.

"Ohh."

Yuan Meng's brows raised in a bit of amusement and shock.

She had this feeling that there was some reason as to why he had come today and from the looks of it he seemed to not have accomplished what he intended to.

"Maybe he might have known about the notice about me getting fired."

Yuan Meng wondered.

She knew that with Yang Kun's uncle being one of the leaders on the board of directors of the school, he might have tried to ask for favours and wanted to make things difficult for her.

In fact, he had also several times said to her that he would help her get a high raise if she was willing to accept his LOVE for her.

"Hmm, he did seem like he wanted to see you in a struggle."

Ning Wei nodded, he seemed pretty interested and ardent when Yuan Meng was called to the Vice Recotr's office, but when she came back, his face darkened.

She was sure that the letter of termination must be somehow related to Yang Kun.

"Heh, nothing but a clown wanting to act."

"His injury was so little, but he acts as if he just dodged a bullet to his head."

Yuan Meng sneered, she knew better than anyone what had happened.

In fact, Yang Kun was completely fine and he had just exaggerated things to gain some sympathy from the school and other colleagues.

But she didn't care, the disgusting man's face only made her stay away from him as much as possible.

"Huh, what do you mean, Sister Meng?"

Ning Wei didn't know that the ACCIDENT that Yang Kun had experienced was a mere ACCIDENT.

Yuan Meng shook her head and didn't say anything.

With that, they continued to eat while talking about their test paper preparations.

__________

Meanwhile, in the house.

Grandma Yan was in the kitchen preparing lunch.

Since the number of people to eat during the lunch would be just three, there was not much work for her and she could already do it with ease since she already did it for both of them in their town.

"Little Qi and Little Meng are really hiding something or the other from us and from the looks of it, Little Wei also doesn't seem to know the real truth."

She muttered remembering what she had found in the drawer not long ago and also the many suspicious acts that she had noticed so far.

"I can feel that he is Little Qi, my own son, but at the same time when I touch him it makes me feel a bit weird as if the body doesn't belong to my son."

She had been feeling this kind of strangeness from the time she had seen Ye Qian.

"And this house also feels way too different and not like before, maybe it's because Little Qi is back and the environment and vibe of this place are different from before."

She could sense that even though she had just been living in the house and doing some chores she didn't feel restless which she usually would after staying in the house for a couple of hours like in their townhouse.

There she would go out and talk with her neighbours and spend time with the women around since Grandpa Xiao would go to the farms making her bored alone in the house.

But here, although things were not much different, she didn't feel really bored like in the town.

"My pains and uneasiness also seem to have gone away?"

She muttered, stretching her back.

She couldn't help but feel as if she had gotten ten years younger and could easily do the things that she was having trouble doing just a couple of years ago and it only got worse as days went by.

In fact, it was not just that, if she were to look carefully, then she would also feel that her hair had started to get a dark black from grey.
