Chapter 19
C19 – Just Break both Legs
Gu Zhen’s defeat was swift and decisive, unable to lay a hand on Ye Yu.
How could this be happening?!
Baldy Qiang was well aware of Gu Zhen’s prowess. Since taking him under his wing, Gu Zhen had never faltered. Yet today, he seemed utterly powerless.
Who was this young man? How could he wield such formidable strength?
Ye Yu’s gaze shifted to Baldy Qiang. With a mere inclination, he could reduce Baldy Qiang to ashes. Yet, Ye Yu opted not to exert excessive force at this juncture.
Just as fear gripped Baldy Qiang’s heart, a phone interrupted.
Hastily, he answered, “Big Brother Loong? It’s Xiao Qiang. What? You’re nearby? Excellent! Hurry over; I’ve encountered some trouble. Yes, yes…”
Disconnecting the call, Baldy Qiang turned to Ye Yu, a malicious grin spreading across his face. “You’re in for it now, kid. My boss, Big Brother Loong, is here, not me.”
Sunn Ann nearly leapt with excitement at Baldy Qiang’s mention of his boss. “Big Bro Qiang’s boss? Who is he? Ye Yu, you’re finished!”
A formidable boss with a bald head?
Ye Yu’s demeanor remained unchanged.
He observed the lead figure’s menacing scar and arrogant grin, now seated in a wheelchair, indicating injury to his legs. Upon entering, he immediately inquired, “Xiao Qiang, what’s the trouble? Anyone dared to cross you here? Tell me, I’ll take care of it, Brother Loong!”
“Brother Loong, look, it’s this kid. He dared to harm my men, even Old Gu couldn’t stop him!” Baldy Qiang pointed accusingly at Ye Yu.
Sunn Ann’s grin turned sinister as she contemplated Ye Yu’s impending fate.
Panic seized her momentarily, realizing Ye Yu was in deep trouble. A powerful bald figure was not one to provoke lightly, and with Baldy Qiang’s boss, Brother Loong, on scene, word of Ye Yu’s actions would surely spread throughout Jinghai city.
“It’s you, isn’t it? You…” Brother Loong’s voice trembled upon sighting Ye Yu.
Mistaking Brother Loong’s tremor for anger, Baldy Qiang interjected, “Kid, why aren’t you kneeling down? If Brother Loong gets upset, you won’t see tomorrow! You…”
“Silence!” Before Baldy Qiang could continue, he received a resounding slap.
Brother Loong pointed at him, his voice booming, “You imbecile! Who gave you permission to provoke Mr. Ye?”
Mr Ye?
Mr Ye?!
Who was this Elder Brother Loong? He wielded immense influence; his father, a retired figure of great significance, could still command Jinghai with a single word.
Yet, this time, Elder Brother Loong addressed the youth before him as Mr. Ye?
“Who is this guy? Why is Elder Brother Loong showing him such deference?”
“Elder Brother Loong, who… who is he?” The bald man stammered.
“Mr. Ye is a brilliant doctor. Do you think you can afford to offend him? Aren’t you going to kneel and apologize to him?” Wu Tie kicked the bald man.
Baldy Qiang realized he had offended someone of significant stature. He prepared to kneel, but Ye Yu’s voice interrupted, “Kneeling won’t suffice. He threatened to break my legs, so… break them both!”
“Break his legs?”
Hearing this, Elder Brother Loong commanded, “Did you not hear? Take him out and break both his legs. He’s tough, so if you ever dare offend Mr. Ye again, I’ll end you!”
“No, Elder Brother Loong—” the bald man screamed.
Sunn Ann trembled; he hadn’t realized Elder Brother Loong held such respect for Ye Yu. Had he known Ye Yu faced such dire consequences, he wouldn’t have dared offend him.
“Right, him too. I don’t want to see him anymore!” Ye Yu pointed at Sunn Ann.
Sunn Ann’s face drained of color. Desperate to avoid a similar fate, he knelt and begged for mercy, but Ye Yu seemed deaf to his pleas.
Following the bald man’s fate, Sunn Ann’s legs were shattered.
As for Xiao Fen, while Ye Yu harbored no fondness for her, her fate seemed intertwined with Sunn Ann’s. He let her go without further consequence.
Soon, only Elder Brother Loong and Ye Yu remained. This Elder Brother Loong was the same Chen Loong from yesterday.
“I’ve heard Vice Principal Wang and my father speak highly of you, a miraculous healer. Seeing you today, it’s evident. Mr. Ye…” Chen Loong’s usual arrogance had vanished.
“Cut to the chase. Speak up,” Ye Yu waved, “What do you need my help with? Your leg?”
Were it not for Ye Yu’s request, Chen Loong might not have been so humble.
“Mr. Ye, my leg’s in bad shape. Other doctors said I’d need months of rest. Can you expedite my recovery?” Chen Loong pleaded.
“Since you’ve learned your lesson, I’ll give you this pill for Elder Chen’s sake. You’ll recover soon,” Ye Yu handed Chen Loong a pea-sized pill.
“Thank you, Mr. Ye. Also, I have another favor to ask,” Chen Loong said, accepting the pill.
“What is it?” Ye Yu inquired.
“There’s an uncle of mine who’s been gravely ill for months. Many so-called genius doctors failed to help. If you could save him, we’d be greatly indebted!”
Ye Yu nodded, “You’ve aided me today. I’ll treat your uncle.”
“Then it’s settled. Tomorrow, someone will fetch you to attend to him!” Chen Loong promised, “Mr. Ye, allow me to escort you home now.”
Ye Yu declined, “No need. My wife might worry if she sees your men escorting me. I’ll manage on my own.”
“Very well. Take care, Mr. Ye!” Chen Loong bid farewell.
Initially suspicious of the pill, Chen Loong realized his standing and swallowed it without hesitation. If Ye Yu intended harm, he wouldn’t resort to such theatrics.
Exiting the KTV, Ye Yu noticed a commotion nearby. Among the harassers stood someone familiar: Si Qin.
“Hey beauty, all alone? How about some company from us?”
“Rare to find such beauty. How about a taste of happiness with us?”
“Come on, let’s go with us, beauty!”
They closed in on Si Qin, who recoiled, nearly falling into someone’s arms.
