Chapter 321: Love Near-fetched (Part Two)
Zheng Lun was wearing a yellow long sleeved dress, with collars and lace at the hem. There was a thin white belt around the waist, which enhanced her figure beautifully. The hem of the dress reached the knees, showing her nicely shaped calves.
She was standing there with her hair down, searching inside the grocery bags one after another. Zheng Jing found the scene enchanting.
Zheng Jing knew pretty well that his sister was an extremely beautiful girl. Any man who met her even once would be attracted to her. They tended to look at her with caring eyes, wanting to approach her in some way.
She was a girl who could easily make men want to protect her. Everyone except for the distant Jing Yichen, would consider her as a rare gem. Even Mu Qing had praised her as being the angel from heaven.
He knew that Mu Qing spoke highly of Zheng Lun, because he appreciated her as a beautiful girl. But he had no romantic thoughts towards Zheng Lun. His mind was totally upon Zhao Anan.
But other men didn’t have such honest look as Mu Qing. They tended to look at her with lust in their eyes, making Zheng Jing extremely uncomfortable.
Therefore, he barely brought Zheng Lun out, because every time they were out, men would come to her and flirt with her despite the fact that her fierce looking brother was next to her.
She was too pure and innocent a girl who had led a sheltered life. She would never understand what those men looked at her for.
But he had overprotected his sister so much that his sister almost... admired him.
Zheng Jing was more rational and calmer than Zheng Lun. He was a mature man who knew what to do and what not to do. It was impossible between him and his sister. Zheng Lun could only be his sister his entire life.
Therefore, he started to take Zheng Lun out to socialize. He took her to his meetings, trying to show his sister that there were many other excellent men in this world for her to choose from.
He couldn’t possibly keep her sheltered throughout her entire life. She needed to have her own life and her own family.
He had realized his real feelings towards his sister and it ached his heart making it bleed. But however much it hurt, he had to do what he was supposed to do. He couldn’t ruin his sister’s lifetime happiness.
But those whom he had thought of as nice among his brotherhood turned out to be worthless.
Some were too loud, some too hot-tempered, others too discreet and some not as gentle. He was a policeman and the men in his brotherhood belonged to the same profession. They were excellent in their jobs and diligent. But... none of them were gentle enough!
Those men who turned up for the blind dates also turned out to be unworthy. They were either too wild or simply liked fooling around. Some who were relatively honest and obedient turned out to be way too silly. Zheng Jing had almost gone through all the unmarried men in A City and had not found even one suitable guy. Maybe it was because he was being overly critical.
He had thought that Mu Qing might be an excellent candidate, but Mu Qing was still hung up on Zhao Anan although they had been separated for so long. He totally gave him up after the couple reunited. Zheng Jing had never considered Jing Yichen, even when he was unmarried. Jing Yichen was not an ordinary man, but a king standing on the top of the pyramid, totally unfit for his little, timid sister.
Zheng Jing was troubled. he had gone through all the unmarried men in A city. He couldn’t possibly marry her sister off to another city or province, right?
It wouldn’t be possible. Neither he nor his parents weren’t willing to do this. Zheng Lun was their treasure whom they protected with all they could. Her mother cut her nails even now and didn’t want her to be wronged or go through any bitterness. If she was married off to another city other, his mother would definitely kill him.
Zheng Lun had too many mixed emotions inside him, but he showed nothing on the face. He looked calm and quiet.
When Zheng Lun found the scallion and pulled out one, she mumbled inside her heart, “This must be a scallion, isn’t it? I remember that it looks like this.”
She turned around and gave the “scallion” to Zheng Jing. “Here you are, Brother, the scallion.”
Zheng Jing looked at the “scallion” which his sister had given him and found it amusing. But soon his heart softened. “Silly girl, these are garlic seedlings, not scallion. Go and continue to find. Get me the right thing.”
He wanted to raise his hands to touch his sister’s head but withdrew it instead.
“Oh really?” Zheng Lun got confused. She tilted her head and stuck out her tongue in a cute way as she said softly, “Then wait a second, Brother, I will go and find it.”
She was always very outgoing and happy in front of Zheng Jing. Soon, she turned around with another green vegetable. “Brother, am I right this time?”
“Yes, you are.” Zheng Jing smiled and took it from her.
Zheng Jing’s large hands grazed her fingers during the exchange.
Zheng Lun’s heart skipped a beat at this moment. She could feel the scorching warmth in the middle of her brother’s palm, making her almost lose her breath.
Zheng Jing moved away his hand, pretending as if nothing had happened. Their fingers parted instantly.
“Lun, go and get a garlic, that you recognize, right?” Zheng Jing had a calm look on him and pointed at Zheng Lun, with a smile.
Zheng Lun recovered from her reaction and nodded happily as she looked at Zheng Jing. “I just learned what it looks like. Brother, you mustn’t laugh at me!”
Zheng Jingg laughed loudly, “If you get me anything else, we would not be able to make the fish on time. The lunch will turn into dinner!”
Zheng Lun laughed too. “I ate potato chips, I am not hungry!”
She said as she turned to search for the garlic in the pile of ingredients.
Hearing that Zheng Jing was in need of garlic, Mu Qing wanted to give him the other half which he had used. But Zhao Anan took it from him and tossed it into the dustbin. She mumbled in his ears, “Don’t look around, just cook food!”
Mu Qing felt helplessly. When did he look around? His eyes had always been on her. Who else would he look at, with her around?
It was just garlic. Why was he accused of looking around? How could he ignore his friend’s requirement?
