As soon as he got Forge, Yoshiki devoted all his time to learning it inside and out.

Despite being a power he himself asked for, he didn't know the specifics. He had only been told that that his power would be 'adapted into a suitable Quirk.' He hadn't been told the rate at which he'd acquire Energy– how Forge would judge the value of theoretical sub-Quirks– or if he even had any sort of limit. He didn't know any of that.

It took him about a week to get a decent grasp of how Forge functioned.

As for the value...

A single day of Energy could grant him 1 non-Quirk. By non-Quirk, Yoshiki meant anything that was practically useless, like... Blind, the ability to disable his eyesight. Sure, in very specific circumstances, Blind might be useful, but that just wasn't how Forge judged the value of its sub-Quirks.

His Quirk only cared about three things– utility, power, and effect.

How useful was it, how powerful was it, and to what extent could it effect the world– those were the factors that Forge used to judge the value of said sub-Quirk. Yoshiki had taken that as confirmation that he had no 'soft' limit, as in, the price of sub-Quirks would NOT go up the more that he had.

That would've been unfortunate.

As for the time it took for him to acquire enough of said Energy... it was exponential.

1 day for a non-Quirk, 3 days for a minor Quirk, 7 days for an average Quirk, 15 days for a decent Quirk, 31 days for a good Quirk, 63 days for a great Quirk, etc.

For example, base All For One would cost him over 600 days worth of Energy, but base One For All would only cost around 30. This was because All For One offered a lot more immediate utility then its counterpart.

On the other hand, despite the steep costs, he had a lot of freedom with it. If the cost wasn't to his liking, he could spend more OR less Energy to compensate, in any way he wanted. For example, if Yoshiki wanted to, he could spend 600 days of Energy on base One For All... and then he'd be as strong as All Might in just 10 short years.

As long as Yoshiki had enough Energy, Forge would forge his sub-Quirks exactly how he wanted them to work.

As for what he had so far...

Blank: Perfectly conceal the presence of Forge and/or any sub-Quirk of choice. Works on every person, machine, or Quirk. Will not hide Quirk usage or activation. *Toggle.

Cost: Know the exact Energy cost of any potential sub-Quirk. *Meta.

Notepad: A mental notepad. Can instantly record any thoughts, words, or ideas in text format. Has all the basic functions found within Google Docs. *Focus. 1GB limit.

After a couple weeks of having Forge, this was what Yoshiki had acquired.

Cost had been extremely useful when it came to learning the limits of his main Quirk. Without it, if he didn't have enough Energy for a specific power... that was all he would know.

And while Yoshiki did have a mental awareness of his sub-Quirks, he liked having a list. That's why he splurged for Notepad. Not only was it incredibly useful for recording his discoveries regarding Forge, he also used it to write down what he remembered of 'canon.' He'd be pretty fucking stupid to write any of that down on real, tangible paper.

Neither Cost nor Notepad had cost him more than a few days, so while he did have Energy to spend... he had decided to save it up.

For his 'public Quirk.'

It was kind of a fun puzzle.

The local Quirk specialist is a child trafficker– what is the best possible Quirk you can have without All For One breathing down your neck? Yoshiki so desperately wanted a public teleportation power, but that'd just be asking to disappear. As for what to pick... he was pretty sure that All For One loved flashy, easy to use Quirks, so he needed to choose a Quirk that wasn't too useful.

At least not without investing a lot of time and effort, like Best Jeanist's.

He also wanted his 'public Quirk' to at least kind of resemble those his parents had. The last thing he needed was to appear interesting to Garaki.

Well, Yoshiki had plenty of time.

'Unless canon starts early,' his thoughts betrayed him. Even if Midoriya and Bakugo being girls was a minor change, it was still a change. This clearly wasn't the 'canon' timeline. Not to mention his presence as well... but Yoshiki would wait until All For One and All Might's fated clash before making any assumptions.

BOOM! BOOM!

"Woooah..." Izumi muttered. "Kacchan's Quirk is amazing..."

Yoshiki sighed– Katsumi's ascension into entitled brat had finally begun. He almost found it disturbing how little she was reprimanded. Katsumi was leaving scorch marks all over the playground set, screaming at the top of her lungs... and everyone just watched, even going as far as to praise her for having a good Quirk.

'No wonder Bakugo turned out like he did in canon.'

"Shiki, what Quirk do you think you'll get? I want my mom's telly-kinesis!"

Yoshiki decided to entertain her. "Hmm... well, my mom can make illusions, and my dad is a battery, so I'll probably just have a stronger version of my mom's Quirk."

Izumi's face scrunched up in thought. "Illusions...?"

"Remember the tent?" Yoshiki supplied.

"Ah! That would be so cool, that would be good for attack and defense, mumble mumble, mumble mumble mumble..." Izumi trailed off, getting lost in her own head as she listed every single possible use such a Quirk might have.

Yoshiki wasn't really fond of canon Deku, but Izumi's antics were kind of cute. He also felt a ping of sympathy, knowing what was coming around the corner. No matter what anyone else said, though, she'd still have him. Yoshiki wasn't going to judge Izumi for something that she couldn't even control.

He wouldn't have judged canon Deku, either. 'In fact, I probably would've told the boy to get off his ass and learn a martial art–'

Yoshiki paused.

He knew that he wasn't living in the 'canon' timeline, but for some reason, he keep on acting like he was. He had been saving up for something more... useful, but seeing that this was something that he had been planning on getting eventually, Yoshiki didn't see a reason not to splurge on it now.

'Give me the power to understand Quirks.'

Yoshiki felt his Quirk hum in response, his Energy reserves depleting a little more than half.

Identify: Know the Quirks of others to an extent. *Target. Sight-based. 10m range.

He glanced at Izumi, who was still mumbling up a storm. With a bit of focus, Yoshiki was able to see her supposed Quirk. He held back a smile.

[ Absorption and Release. Emitter. Contact/Focus/Stockpile. ] (dormant)

"You said you wanted your mom's telekinesis, right?"

"Uh, yeah! Dad's Quirk would be cool too," Izumi answered.

"Sometimes, Quirks are a combination of our parents," Yoshiki explained. "Kacchan doesn't have her parents' Quirks, but parts of both, resulting in Explosion. There's a chance that you could also have a Quirk that's a mix of your mom's and dad's."

"I might..." Izumi squinted. "I might be able to control fire? That'd be so cool!!"

"Maybe," Yoshiki replied, a little smug.

It wouldn't do any good to spoil the surprise so soon.

"Shiki-kun! Sandwiches!"

Yoshiki turned to see all of their moms sitting off to the side. All of them being smoking hot anime moms. He'd whistle if he could.

There was also Masaru. That was something that he and Izumi had in common– both of their dads spent most of their time at work. Yoshiki had only seen his own dad half a dozen times, but he hadn't even seen Izumi's dad once.

That man was the true embodiment of the absentee anime parent.

Both him and Izumi ran over to their parents, the toddlers that they were. As promised, there was a sandwich waiting for him.

"Thanks mom," Yoshiki said, but before he could react, his mom pulled him into her lap, and then she handed him his sandwich. "Did you have fun? I noticed you were a little distant with Katsumi," Fumika said as she ran her hand through his hair.

She was very touchy, as per usual.

"She's loud," he replied.

His mother tried and failed to muffle a snort, and Yoshiki quite enjoyed the way Mitsuki clenched her jaw. Not that Mitsuki said anything. He wasn't exactly wrong, was he?

"Katsumi! We've got sandwiches!" Mitsuki hollered.

"I hear ya!"

A few minutes later, as well as a few BOOMS later, Katsumi was still out and about, still damaging public property with her Quirk.

"KATSUMI, I SWEAR TO GOD!" Mitsuki bellowed, and Masaru wilted a little.

"I HEAR YA!"

Yoshiki just rolled his eyes at their antics, leaning back into his mom's lap as he continued to eat his sandwich. He let out a soft smile. This was perfectly fine.

Hell, it was more than just fine.

Since even though Cost and Notepad were the only things he forged when it came to testing the limits of his main Quirk, Yoshiki had also given himself... that power.

Like the loli angel brat had said, he wasn't exactly a good person. Not by any means.

Power corrupts, and Yoshiki had power in spades.

X-ray Vision: See through anything at will. *Focus. 5m range.

Inko and Mitsuki might've been housewives, but goddamn. Then there was the fact that this was before Inko would've put on all that weight, so she was still a total baddie. Not that he had a single thing against the Inko of canon– no, Yoshiki was a man of culture, and he could most definitely appreciate a meaty woman.

His own mom wasn't all that bad either.

Not that he was thinking about that.

'Incest is bad,' he told himself. Not only was it frowned upon, but it also–

'You could make a power for that,' his mind betrayed him.

That was true. He could craft ANY power. With that thought, his mind spiraled towards all the other powers that existed in fiction. Their were a lot of powers that were... tempting. Powers that would make living here so easier, so much more fun.

Yoshiki gulped.

Well, he was only 4.

'That's a moral dilemma for future Yoshiki.'
