Brand New Life Online: Rise Of The Goddess Of Harvest

Chapter 1072: The Three Factions' Scheme

-----

Within the Magician Guild Tower of the Luminous Kingdom, the old bearded Merlinus sat over his throne, he had not slept a single hour since the incident, and his Mana Senses kept spreading as much as he could, with no results. He had been scanning the entire city several times but has not found the culprit based on their initial appearances.

He was frustrated, his beard flaring with flames, his presence distorting space itself. His dark blue robes waving constantly, he wasn't having a good time at all, he was furious. And his fury could not be soothed yet, not until the heads of the insolents that dared to insult his guild were in front of him, ready for him to splatter their brains into countless little pieces with his foot.

"Anything yet?!"

"No sir, the Demons have been looking everywhere but there has not been anything they could find yet… They are experts at finding everything. This most likely means they're not here, Players, perhaps."

"So they were masking their identity as Players this entire time?! How come nobody realized this when their status was revealed?"

"W-We have no idea, perhaps some sort of spell, or skill that can hide or falsify not only appearance but a status information-"

SPLAT!

The magician in front of Merlinus had his head blow up into pieces, as the compressing space around his head pressed his skull until it exploded.

Blood, brains, and fragments of his skull fell into the ground as the headless body fell over the floor, painting the ground red.

"What are you waiting for, you dogs? Eat it."

The old man called, as several of the men covered on black coats standing around him roared like wild beasts, leaping into the corpse, and beginning to bite and eat it piece by piece, cleaning the bones and everything.

And he watched in silence, he found the act of savagery and destruction as the true art of the world. There was nothing more satisfying than taking the life of someone that didn't deserve to die, and there wasn't anything more beautiful than seeing a corpse being desecrated.

Once the bones were left picked clean, he called something, a being behind him, a Lich.

"Rise it, add it to your little collection… He was decently strong."

"Thank you for the offering, my King will not forget this show of kindness."

The Lich waved his hand, the bones were quickly engulfed by a phantasmal azure flame, quickly rearranging itself together into a skeleton, and standing up, even with its skull broken.

It walked towards the Lich, who quickly stuffed it inside of its own Phantasmal Aura, making the undead disappear completely.

"All of you, useless parasites. Start searching for them and quickly. The King and the Queen… they've been awfully silent. I don't know what those fools might be planning, but I can bet they already know everything-"

"We don't know if that's true yet, Master."

Suddenly, one of the men covered on black cloaks spoke.

"Oh? Why is that?"

Merlinus treated this man much differently than the other magicians, listening to his opinion.

"It could all be just your delusions instead, after all… The King and the Queen are young still, foolish. Do you truly believe this could have been orchestrated by them? Perhaps it was another foe, another enemy."

"Who else than them then? This Kingdom is safe from anybody but us, I've made sure that is the case."

"Are you completely sure of that?"

"Hm?"

The man looked at the Lich standing in silence.

"Oh, I jest. That would be incredibly stupid to even believe. Why would my King ever dare do such a foolish thing?" laughed the Lich. "If we ever wanted to wage war against you lot, you all would be dead already."

"I wouldn't say that when that woman has singlehandedly stopped every attempt of your kindred to sow chaos," Merlinus spoke.

"Hmph, you ungrateful demon, do you think you can sow discord between two allies now? What is your scheme?" the Lich glared at the black cloaked man.

"We have no scheme. Our only goal is to resurrect our great lord and king of all destruction," the black cloaked man said. "Your King, in comparison, is nothing but a neglected, lonely, and weeping king that was unable to protect his territory and ended creating bonds that now make him weaker than before. Bonds shattered that only made him delirious and insane.

Your King is but a false one, change your ways and join us on resurrecting the true king of destruction."

"What?" laughed the Lich. "Again with this, stop your prattle this very instant, disgusting demonic aberration. You crawl on this world because of our help, yet you dare point your hand at me, calling my own King a false one? Give me a reason why I shouldn't exorcize you out of existence!"

"Planta."

"Wha…? Don't you dare say her name!"

"Yggdrasil."

"Stop it!"

"Yggdragon."

"Close your mouth this very instant, or I shall silence you myself!"

The Lich roared in fury as he pointed his cane made of bones at the "demon", the King of Wizards smiled at the scene, the chaos made him have fun, his wicked mind working on their own, wicked ways.

"There is a common enemy, we all serve different Kings, even the one in front of us, our contractor and current master, desires to become King himself," said the black cloaked man. "Yet, who is the one truly stopping us right now? The Herald of Life, the perfect child of the Gods. They had various names, Yggdragon, then Yggdrasil, and now they go by Planta!

The third party that is plotting our destruction is nobody else than them, the eternal enemy of all the Kings!"

"So you're implying that those four scoundrels… were actually working for her?" wondered Merlinus, his sharp crimson eyes glowing. "Possible… If so, she has fooled us quite well."

The existence of Planta was becoming more and more of an issue for these three parties, and they had to quickly vanquish her before they could ever accomplish any of their malefic plans.
