Chapter 57: Elemental Test (1)
Chapter 57: Elemental Test (1)
"How many points did you have on Luck?" Sophia asked Anton.
"Eight."
"I'm sorry, did you say eight?" Sophia raised an eyebrow, while Anton nodded.
"Only that much, I got fifty-two," Michelle said from behind.
"crap," cursed Anton. He looked at the others.
"I got sixteen," Davin confessed.
And others started to as well.
"Thirteen," Kevin said.
"It seems that I'm not the only one unlucky," Anton said, looking at Michelle. "You're the only one who got a high number."
"Maybe, maybe not," Michelle said. "But that doesn't change that you got the lowest number. Even Jacob who came here accidentally entered the trial has more numbers than yours. Right, Jacob?"
"I've thirty-six in luck actually," Jacob said noticing Anton's gaze.
Anton's lips twitched again. A guy who accidentally came to the Trial had over four times the luck than him.
"Wrik?" At last, Anton came to Wrik.
"Don't worry, Ton. I'm sure eight was not your final number," Wrik tried to console Anton. "When the first time after the assimilation I have about only 17 on luck but it whooped to 47 after my ability awakened."
"You're not helping it either," Anton's lips twitched. He looked around everyone but his expression only darkened seeing their face. All their face told they have better luck than him.
"Ton, there's no need to be worried. We're always together, so our luck should be entangled as well," Wrik nudged his brother at the shoulder calm him a bit. He squeezed Anton's shoulder softly. "Besides, Sophia hasn't said anything yet."
Anton nodded and looked at the blonde lady in the front waiting for her reply.
"First of all I don't trust the so-called Luck," Sophia said. "I'm not denying it, there's definitely something ethereal like Luck. But that doesn't change anything, High value in luck doesn't mean you would get an advantage in anything or a lower value would make you disadvantageous. It may even be the opposites. .. in the end all that matters are your choices.
"What I'm saying is low luck can not escalates to accidental death by some asteroids. So there's no need to worry about something you can't control."
At last Anton's mood turned for better, hearing out everything Sophia said.
"Turns out, Luck isn't anything special at all," Anton sneered, turning his head to Michelle.
Michelle was about to counterattack with something, but Sophia carried on with her lesson.
"So where are we?" Sophia asked.
"You're mentioning that all eight stat were important and interconnected." Tanya reminded her big sister in her serene tone.
"Oh, yes, I'll finish about all these stat shortly. Just remember the growth of one attribute effect other attributes as wellsome on a deeper level while some at the inconsiderate level." Sophia continued. "For example: If your strength increase by five points then your Constitution and Agility would increase as well, though not that high, 1 or two points may be. Well, the number may defer from individuals to individual. While it would have negligible effects on the mental attributes.
"Now if there are no issues, let's jump into actual training."
Wrik pondered for a moment to came up with anything that he found unconvincing. He did have a few questions, but they were not that urgent. While the others were not the same they started to ask about some of their personal queries, while Sophia answered them best of her abilities. The one's that didn't ask any questions were him, Tanya and Michelle. While the one who asked the most was none other than his good brother, Anton.
Anton didn't miss the opportunity to have the chat with Sophia. His questions were all around the room, sometimes about the tower, some were about Mahasaying or the stuff Sophia revealed to them.
"Last question, what are the highest number one stat could be grown?" Anton asked and the chamber turned silent still. "Or when it stopped to grow?"
Everyone looked towards their blonde instructor including Wrik. The instructor met their eyes but shook her head.
"This question is not appropriate for the time," Sophia said. "I'll answer it at a later date."
Anton was clearly disappointed, so was the others, the answer would give them somewhat ideas about the limit of Mahasayer. But it appeared Sophia was disinclined to answer it.
"Don't give me that look, you are all nothing but juvenile in this business. It's still years early to worry about saturation." Sophia mocked their stupidity, she pondered for a moment then looked at Wrik. "Wrik, Have you tested the nature of your Maha Mana?"
Wrik shook his head and found out he was not the only one left to test. Kevin and Jacob were among the crowd were like him. Well, Anton was one too, but he already found his element after the class succession.
Knowing the nature of Maha mana helps on a lot of occasions. For instance, you don't have to waste time on something you're not suitable for. If you know the nature of your mana even before its awakening, you will have a far better idea about your future. Like one with the affinity towards fire can not be a cast any wind spell, and it only be wasting time to study other elements.
"So, we got three here, then let's finish this business real quick," Sophia said as she opened a glass orb--half the size of a human head from a pouch that was only a little less big than the actual orb. Wrik had seen this type of dimension pouch with Tanya as well. Sophia continued, holding the glass orb in her palm. "Who is going to be first?"
Wrik couldn't wait to test his Maha mana nature, but gave the first opportunity to Kevin who stood up and asked Sophia:
"How is this work?"
"It is pretty easy, put your hand on it and discharge Maha mana into it for a few moments." Sophia finished her phrase, and pull pulled her arm which was holding the Orb towards Kevin. "Give it a try."
Kevin nodded as he put his right palm on the surface of the orb. A bleak amount of almost invisible smoke transmitted from his palm to the orb. But nothing changed in the orb apart from the smoke inside it. It continued for a good minute before Sophia shook her head.
