Chapter 124 : Joy
Everyone nodded in agreement.
"Now that this part of our plan has been set into motion, we need to focus on our next steps,"
Felix said decisively. "You guys should get busy with your own plans, we don't have time to waste!"
" You're right about that Brixton and I will be going to the Adventurer Guild today. So you won't see us for a long while " Trinity while looking at Fellix.
Felix met her golden eyes for a moment before saying softly, "Just be careful out there."
Trinity turned her head slightly away with a faint blush creeping onto her cheeks and nodded subtly. "Hmmm."
"I'll also be tied up for a while with Jarvis," Zephyr chimed in as Jarvis nodded beside him.
Felix gave them both an encouraging glance before responding, "Good luck! If you need anything at all, just send word."
"Will do!" With that affirmation, Zephyr and Jarvis vanished from sight along with Finn and Clarke who were standing at the side.
Trinity shot a quick glance at Felix before vanishing from her spotwith Brixton.
Felix fell into a contemplative silence, staring at the empty space where Trinity had just stood.
"Missing big sis already, are we?" Nixie's playful voice broke through his thoughts, pulling him back to reality.
A faint smile tugged at Felix's lips as he shook his head. "Alright, you two should find something to keep yourselves busy," he said with a chuckle before walking away.
Nixie turned to Gwendolyn with a curious expression. "Hey, don't you think there is something strange going on between bigbro and big sis Trinity?"
Gwendolyn watched Felix's retreating figure, intrigue sparking in her eyes as she pondered the question deeply.
---------------------------------
At the back of the Morningstar Family Estate lies an expansive area stretching nearly ten miles, now adorned with stunning white buildings.
A long, paved road winds gracefully through this vast complex, reminiscent of a picturesque campus.
The structures resemble grand dormitories, spacious and beautifully designed.
From a bird's-eye view, the complex appears to be divided into two distinct sections: one side features numerous buildings clustered together in a harmonious layout that feels open rather than congested.
In contrast, the other section boasts fewer but larger and more exquisite buildings, where the concentration of mana is noticeably denser.
In addition to these impressive structures, there are over a dozen expansive training grounds, each measuring up to one hundred meters, equipped with various training equipments.
Scattered throughout this architectural wonder are unique towers that add an element of intrigue to the landscape.
As we shift our focus back to the present moment, all thousand children, from ages five to eighteen, have been guided into this magnificent building complex by attentive servants.
Awe fills their eyes as they take in their beautiful surroundings.
"Ahem," a male servant steps forward, clearing his throat to capture everyone's attention. "Welcome! This will be your home from now on. If you're siblings or know each other, feel free to choose rooms on the same floor. Please organize yourselves as we show you where each of you will live," he says with an encouraging smile.
Immediately, those who recognize each other begin grouping together while families unite; however, some children stand alone without familiar faces nearby.
"Big Brother Leo," a little boy tugging at Leo's shirt asks eagerly, "Are we going to live together?"
"Of course!" Leo replies warmly as he scoops up his younger sister in his arms.
Just then, a maid approaches them with a gentle smile. "Hello there! If it's alright with you, I'd like to take care of this adorable little girl."
Leo's expression shifts instantly as he tightens his grip on his sister. "Are you going to take my sister away?"
The maid raises her hands reassuringly. "No! We're not taking her away from you at all. She's still just a baby under six months old; we'll ensure she's well cared for until she can join you again."
"Really?" doubt flickers in Leo's eyes.
"Absolutely! You've joined the Morningstar Family now; there's nothing to worry about, we'll treat her kindly," she assures him with warmth.
After pondering for a moment, Leo nods slowly and hands Solstice over reluctantly but trustingly.
"What's her name?" the maid asks softly as she cradles Solstice gently.
"Her name is Solstice," Leo replies proudly.
"That's such a lovely name!" she responds with genuine admiration before turning away with Solstice in her arms.
As they watch as the maid left with Solstice a sad feeling welled up in their hearts.
"Don't worry! It's not like we can't see Solstice again," a little girl, about Leo's age, chimed in cheerfully. " That big sister said we can visit anytime we want!"
Leo simply nodded, comforted by her words.
"Alright, kiddos! Do you want to live together or…?" A male servant stepped forward, addressing Leo and his siblings.
"We're family! We want to live in the same building," Leo declared without hesitation.
"Great! Follow me," the servant replied with a warm smile as he led them toward one of the buildings.
Moments later, they found themselves on a vast floor lined with doors on either side. The marble tiles gleamed under beautiful lamps adorning the walls.
Standing in awe, Leo and his siblings gazed around, wide-eyed at their new surroundings.
"This is where you'll be living. Feel free to choose any room you like! Don't worry; there are bathrooms and everything you need," the servant explained kindly.
Nodding in disbelief, Leo and his siblings slowly made their way toward the rooms to explore their options.
When Leo opened the door to his room, he was utterly taken aback.
The space was spacious and inviting, equipped with a large comfortable bed, a desk and chair, a huge wardrobe, cabinets, and even a cozy couch.
His eyes widened in shock. "Is this really where I'm going to live?" he whispered incredulously.
After years spent sleeping on cold ground in the slums, how could he not feel overwhelmed?.
Now he was about to sleep in such luxury, a big bed with warm sheets!.
At just ten years old, emotions swirled inside him like a storm.
"Okay everyone! Come out!" The servant's voice broke through Leo's reverie.
Shaking off his astonishment, he stepped outside just as his siblings emerged from their rooms too, each wearing equally dazed expressions as they processed what they had just seen.
"Do you like it?" The servant asked with a grin.
Leo and his siblings nodded slowly but surely; their faces still reflected sheer amazement.
"Now that you've seen your rooms," the servant continued enthusiastically, "go take a nice bath and toss away your dirty clothes and inside the wardrobes, there are fresh outfits waiting for you inside. Once you're all cleaned up, come back out; I'll take you to dinner at the canteen!"
With renewed energy from this promise of adventure (and food!), Leo and his siblings headed back into their respective rooms for baths while the servant leaned against the wall with a slight smile.
About an hour later, Leo and his siblings emerged from their rooms, transformed and gleaming.
After a much-needed bath, they were now clad in fresh clothes that made them look lively and adorable.
Gone were the days of dirt and grime; their eyes sparkled with energy, reflecting the joy of cleanliness.
However, despite their vibrant appearance, they remained skinny, mere shadows of themselves, with pale faces and dry, cracked lips.
As they admired their new outfits, a male servant leaning casually against the wall nodded approvingly. "Alright, now that you're all cleaned up, let's get you some dinner!"
With that, he led the children out of the building.
Along the way, they noticed other servants guiding more kids outside.
Everyone was freshly scrubbed and dressed in bright new clothes, excitement radiating from their faces as they chatted animatedly.
"My room was huge!" one exclaimed.
"Right? That bed was massive! I've never seen anything so comfy!" another chimed in.
"This feels like heaven! We each have our own rooms and those giant beds," a third added with wide eyes.
"I thought I was dreaming back in the slums," said another child wistfully. "We had to sleep on the ground without even a rag to cover us."
"Yeah! I'm so lucky I met the age requirement and got chosen for this place!" someone else exclaimed.
"And guess what? We're about to eat dinner, even though I have no idea what that really is!" one child said with a grin.
"It seems 'dinner' means food in the evening," another replied thoughtfully.
"Wow! Is there really such a thing?"
"Yeah! The big sister who showed us to our rooms mentioned it," came another voice filled with wonder.
"This is amazing!"
"You know," one child said quietly, "I've never eaten in the evening before. Sometimes I couldn't find food for three whole days."
A collective sigh echoed through their group as they reflected on how fortunate they felt. "This family is so generous and kind; I'm really glad I got to join!"
As they walked along the paved path toward the canteen, laughter mingled with stories of hope and gratitude filled the air, a stark contrast to their past struggles.
