Building A Business Empire From Scratch In Another World

Chapter 52: 52 : Slave Market

As Bridgemoor City bustled with activity on its dense and interconnected roads, a luxurious carriage being pulled by a large horse slowly rumbled down the street.

Inside the carriage, Felix gazed out with a smile on his face, watching the pedestrians bustling about.

After half an hour, the carriage came to a stop.

"Master Felix, we have arrived," a respectful voice called from outside the carriage. Felix snapped out of his thoughts and stepped down from the carriage, looking around with curiosity.

He found himself in a completely different part of Bridgemoor City - the Slave District. The place was filled with an aura of misery, with faint sounds of crying and deep shouts and whips in the air.

"This is the Slave District, Master Felix," the coachman said respectfully.

"So this is the Slave District, huh?" Felix nodded.

"Yes, but most people like to call it the Slave Market as it is more appropriate that way," the coachman explained.

Felix nodded and said to the coachman, " Ok find a place to park the carriage, I'll be going inside to take a look".

" Understood" the coachman bowed and left to find a place to park the carriage.

As he strolled into the Slave Market, a dense aura of misery and blood hit him, causing him to frown.

As a Mana Cultivator, his senses were heightened, allowing him to sense things that ordinary people couldn't. The air was filled with a metallic scent of blood, and the market was bustling with activity.

The Slave District or Market as it name suggest, is a place were slaves are sold, the slaves here are not only limited to the human race but all other race. Dwarves, Elves, Beast-men and many other races.

Slave Trade is one of the most lucrative business in Sylphendil World.

The Sylphendil World was a place where the strong preyed on the weak, with constant battles taking place.

Every day, kingdoms rise and fall, and war is constantly being waged in this world. It's a place where the strongest fists rule, and some people just don't want to submit to others.

This leads to conflict, especially since resources are limited and not endless. Different factions fight each other to gain more resources or territories to strengthen themselves.

Resources are crucial here - the more you control, the more powerful you become.

In the world of Sylphendil, everyone is constantly striving to become stronger in order to survive. It's like a hundred meters race - if you stop running, you'll be left in the dust by someone else.

Unlike a regular hundred meters race where you can catch up if you fall behind, in Sylphendil falling behind means risking death or submission to others.

People are always fighting for resources, waging wars to secure the best spots and materials.

The more powerful you become, the more resources you need, so conflict is inevitable. The Human Race, in particular, is known for their greed and desire to dominate other races.

They thrive on internal conflict, with lying, scheming, and backstabbing being common occurrences.

Despite their flaws, humans do come together in times of crisis. However, they are still the most hated race in Sylphendil, even more so than the Demon Race.

Their reputation for selfishness and betrayal precedes them, making them a target for animosity from other races, so naturally there is always wars among the various races and also among themselves.

When all these factors come together, war is inevitable.

And with war comes destruction. The ones who suffer the most are the ordinary people - some become homeless or die, while others are captured and sold as slaves. Slave Caravans even attack small villages to capture strong individuals to sell.

It's not just humans who are captured and sold as slaves, but other races too, like Elves.

Elves are known for their beauty and magical talents, making them prime targets for Slave Caravans. Beast-men, who are a mix of humans and magical beasts, are also highly sought after.

They have unique features like cat ears, rabbit tails, or horns, making them desirable to those with special fetishes.

Felix shook his head at the thought of being captured and turned into a slave.

Once that mark is placed on you, you're a slave for life. It's a harsh reality in this world of constant conflict and power struggles.

Unless you find a kindhearted person who is willing to remove the slave mark after buying you.

And in this world finding a kindhearted person was like finding a needle in a haystack in this cruel world.

The previous Felix was lucky to have met kindhearted person who removed his mark after buying him from the slave market.

Trinity and the others were also quite lucky to have met the previous Felix for freeing them from their marks.

This world is extremely cruel, having no strength or any formidable strength.eans that your life isn't really yours. It can be taken away at any moment by someone else.

Being enslaved is the absolute worst fate imaginable - being treated like property, sold off like a piece of merchandise. Your life ends up being worth less than that of an ant.

As Felix walked through the Slave Market, he couldn't help but feel sorry for the slaves locked up in cages.

Their faces showed nothing but despair and fear. There were slaves of all ages and races, from adults to children.

Despite feeling pity for them, Felix had no intention of buying any of them.

He was no saint, he couldn't do anything that doesn't benefits him in anyway, if they were some use to use then he couldn't mind buying them but there were useless to him, they would even become a burden to him.

The market was bustling with Slave Merchants shouting and displaying their 'goods '.

People were being treated like commodities, with lives being sold for profit. It was a sad and cruel world, where even a dog's life seemed more valuable than a human's.

Felix continue stroling around the Slave Market,he was quite intrigued by the different races he saw, including elves, beast-men, dwarves, and even saw those with blue skin known as the Ifrits Race.

He continued to stroll around the market, taking in the sights of the unique races.

Felix continued to wander around the Slave Market when, after half an hour, he noticed a commotion in the distance. Intrigued, he slowly made his way over.

Eventually, he stopped a few feet away from a large, three-story shop. Outside the restaurant, he saw numerous cages filled with slaves in chains.

Right now, outside the shop, a muscular man without a shirt was mercilessly whipping a slave.

Felix could tell that the shirtless man was a Mana Cultivator, a Tier 2 Intermediate Knight, while the slave being whipped was just an ordinary person.

Felix observed the tall and handsome slave with curiosity.

The man appeared to be in his forties, with long hair that was now matted with blood from the deep wounds covering his body.

Felix's eyes widened in surprise as he noticed the man's long, pointed ears. "Huh, this guy is an Elf," he thought to himself.

The most distinctive feature of an Elf is their long and beautiful pointed ears.

Felix was taken aback when he realized the man being mercilessly whipped was an Elf. While captured Elves are still treated as slaves, their treatment is typically better than that of other slaves.

Elves are usually treated well because the healthier they look, the higher their price. Slave caravans make sure Elves are not mistreated. However, this Elf was clearly being treated differently.

Felix was shocked by the fact that the Elf didn't make a sound when being whipped. It was clear that the shirtless man was using all his Tier 2 Intermediate Knight strength, but the Elf didn't show any signs of pain.

It was impressive to see the Elf's resilience in the face of such brutality.

If it were an ordinary person, they would have died by now from being whipped with the full strength of a Tier 2 Intermediate Knight.

But this Elf only let out faint, muffled sounds. What was even more peculiar was that the Elf's expression was completely devoid of any emotions.

His eyes showed no emotion at all, even though he was making sounds from his mouth. It was as if the beating he was receiving wasn't painful to him at all.

Felix was amazed by the guy's ability to endure so much pain.

He thought to himself, "Wow, this guy's pain tolerance is really impressive. I don't think I could handle that kind of pain."

" I told you to kneel down when someone wants to to buy you!".The shirtless, burly man yelled at the Elf.

The man continued to whip the Elf mercilessly.

The people around them shook their heads and looked at the Elf with mockery and disdain. They had no sympathy for the Elf; to them, he was just a worthless Elven slave. It was a sad sight to see.

"This guy is so stubborn, why can't he just kneel? It's not like he'll die or something," a man on the side remarked.

"I don't understand either. He just has to kneel to the person who wants to buy him, that's all," another person added.

"He's lucky someone even wants to buy him, yet he's acting all arrogant," another person snorted.

"Maybe his pride doesn't allow it," another person said sarcastically.

"Pfft, ha ha ha! Pride? Does a slave really need pride? He's lucky he's an Elf, otherwise the boss would have killed him already," another man taunted from the side.
