“Assassins’ Alliance? Ancient assassins?”
Randall was taken aback for two reasons: first, he had never made this kind of game, and second, there had never been this type of game in the market, which meant no reference points.
Lincoln’s first game was a tourism simulator that no one had ever seen before. Now for the second game, would he venture into making another unseen ancient assassins’ game?
“No, no, no!” Lincoln quickly shook his head to calm Randall’s anxiety, as he wasn’t that stubborn to go against the market.
Even if he had to bring up the Bible, “Players don’t know what they want,” he would have to wait until he had achieved success and gained general acceptance from players.
That’s when it would be a good time to create something new and cultivate the players’ interests.
Players have been using hot weapons for years, getting used to killing their opponents from a distance of several meters. Asking them to charge with cold weapons now would be a radical change, something they wouldn’t be comfortable with or patient enough for.
Not to mention that the current external environment wasn’t good at all; if Lincoln really went through with it, NetDragon and other large game companies wouldn’t give players the patience to adapt.
“Yes, the name is ‘Assassins’ Alliance,’ but what we’re going to do is modern urban assassins, in other words, killers. The weapons we’ll be using are
firearms, so relax,” Lincoln explained to them both.
After speaking, he pointed at the surrounding area, “I’ve already built the environment and randomly generated some character images, made a plot-driven movie. You guys can watch it together first, then stroll around the scenes. ”
“Old Qin, think about how you can turn this story into a game, where to start.”
“Sister Tung, as for you, help design the characters’ appearance, clothing, and the like. You can alter the scenes as you see fit, I trust your skill level.”
Randall and Little Chun agreed and were eager to see what Lincoln had created for the new story.
“OK, I’ve given you both the permissions. Watch the movie first, take your time, no rush. I’ve got important matters to attend to. When I’m back, we’ll work together on it.” After speaking, Lincoln exited the virtual world, as Yue Pengju was waiting for him.
He took the hard disk with him, and left with Yue Pengju, looking forward to seeing some major hardware today!
Inside the virtual world, Randall and Little Chun didn’t start working immediately. As Lincoln said, they first decided to watch a movie together.
Upon leaving the coffee shop, they saw a cinema, but only the street-facing side of the building was normal. Inside it was just an empty square space without any construction.
Undeterred, they used the developer tools Lincoln had given them and started designing the space from scratch, creating a movie theater projection room.
They had received the developer tools beforehand but hadn’t had a chance to practice. All they could do was study the developer documentation to learn how to use the tools.
Now, with their first attempt, they quickly built a projection room, which came as a delightful surprise to them both.
They sat down comfortably in the best viewing spot, not forgetting to make a bucket of popcorn and two cups of cola, and squeezed together to begin watching the movie.
The opening introduction of the killer organization’s thousand-year history was in English, which didn’t surprise them. Although gunfight games had been developed in the domestic market for years, there had always been some censorship and restrictions.
Moreover, after all these years of making gunfight games, the domestic themes had become overused.
As a result, there were now more and more gunfight games with foreign and even imaginary themes.
They were puzzled by the miserable-looking young man at the beginning, who seemed weary of the world and had a monologue full of sarcasm.
But as soon as a man in a suit and leather shoes got out of a car, they immediately realized that he was probably a killer.
They then watched the emotionless killer go upstairs, find an Indian woman to inquire about the source of the bullets, and then witness her being shot in the head by a sniper rifle in the distance.
Little Chun was even startled by the scene.
Then, the killer made his escape, rushing into the elevator.
As they assumed the killer would take the elevator downstairs, either to flee or move to another building for a counterattack, the killer suddenly crouched low.
He eyed the glass at the end of the hallway, and with his heart pounding faster, he stepped onto the metal elevator wall, which caved in under his foot. He then bolted out of there!
The couple watched the killer speed through the hallway on the screen, papers hanging from the walls on both sides fluttering off from the gust of wind created by his sprint. Even a woman in an office, who was in the middle of printing a document, was blown off balance. In the hallway, papers flew in every direction!
The camera cut to the killer sprinting to the end of the hallway, smashing his face into the reinforced glass, causing it to shatter into chunks.
Carrying the shards of glass, he leaped into the air, soaring toward the top of another building dozens of meters away!
Randall and Little Chun were completely dumbstruck.
Is this a killer? What kind of killer can do that? No, what human can do that?
Could this be a science fiction movie with genetically modified killers?
Before they could gather their thoughts, the very next moment the killer roared in midair as the music intensified, drew his gun with his left hand and killed two gunmen, then extended his right hand to pull out an ancient half-meter-long Old-style Rifle from his suit’s hem. He gave it a violent swing, and the bullet burst out of the chamber.
They watched in astonishment as the bullet curved after leaving the chamber and killed a gunman hiding behind cover.
They couldn’t think anymore.
Next, this cool and fancy killer, referred to as “Mr. X, ” was neatly killed by a sniper shot.
They saw the bullet traverse time in reverse, tracing a long trajectory in the sky, all the way back into a killer’s gun barrel.
They felt numb.
“Did I see correctly just now? Did a bullet just curve?” Randall, unconcerned about the movie-watching experience, paused the movie and turned to Little Chun with a bewildered expression.
“You saw it right, that bullet definitely curved,” Little Chun nodded, confirming he wasn’t mistaken.
“Ah? Bullets can curve?” The highly acclaimed “Father of Blaze” and gunfight game creator, Randall, looked utterly confused at this point.
Little Chun also looked surprised, but she quickly accepted the fact that the bullet had curved.
She even said uncertainly, “I think… I might understand the style the boss wants to make…”
“???” Randall became even more confused, “How can you figure out the overall style from just this short, unbelievable opening scene?”
“Yes.” Little Chun remained composed, “Exaggerated physical abilities, absurd laws of physics, rarely used old rifles, curved bullet trajectories, and delicately engraved patterns on the bullets. Isn’t it obvious?
Randall even began to doubt himself, “Obvious? What’s obvious? Are we watching the same movie? All I feel is confusion…”
“Show off! Silly!” Little Chun revealed her guess triumphantly, “Rare weapons, thrilling combat, and gorgeously absurd shooting techniques combined together. It must be for the ultimate show-off!”
Little Chun miraculously hit the nail on the head.
Randall seemed to understand something, and yet not.
Little Chun stopped pondering and continued to play the movie, “Keep watching, and you’ll understand. Let’s see if I’m right!”
“Sure.” Seeing Little Chun’s high spirits, Randall naturally wouldn’t refute.
He stopped thinking about other things and just laughed, moving the popcorn to Little Chun’s side..
