Chapter 34: Dragon God Crystal

Chapter 34: Dragon God Crystal

Half a month ago, a remnant appeared near South Village.

More than ten thousand people rushed into the remnant the moment it appeared, with the South Village army led by the South Village King taking the majority of the loot. At the same time, more and more people started to enter the remnants in search of fortuitous encounters that others had missed.

And after about 10 days of relentless searching, the remnants were stripped bare, with even a medicinal pill of the Yellow level nowhere to be found.

People had noticed that this remnant was full of serendipity, not only did the strongest South Village King obtain two items of the Barren level, half of a Barren level cultivation method and a Barren level spiritual artifact, even Sheng Yi had gotten a treasure of the Barren level. Then, even Earth level items were scattered everywhere.

And even after such a long time, there were still people fighting each other for treasures, those that hadn’t been fortunate enough to uncover an item had resorted to killing and stealing. Those that were late to the party started searching for unworthy people who had benefited from the remnant, in hopes of murdering them for their treasures.

As a result, the number of casualties and death caused by the appearance of the remnants rose exponentially, far surpassing the death toll of the southern beast wave. There were corpses littered all over the wilderness, with no one to collect their bodies.

There were also plenty of people that had set their sights on Sheng Yi, even despite the fact that his father was in the Sky Reaching realm. After all, he had a Barren level treasure in his hands! If they could succeed in their attempt, they could use the treasure to reach the Abhijñā realm!

But Sheng Yi quickly disappeared after obtaining the treasures from the mountain. Even despite the South Village King, who had dispatched more than ten thousand soldiers to scour the vicinity for any traces of Sheng Yi, he was still successful in escaping.

After a few days, Sheng Yi painstakingly completed the arduous journey and arrived at a city near the capital, choosing to rest in the city for a few days. At the same time, a woman was seen next to him.

That woman’s name was Zi Lin.

The herb gatherer girl that was near the remnant.

At this moment, Sheng Yi was looking helplessly at the lively Zi Lin that was next to him, a soft sigh escaping his lips. Despite the fact that he had benefitted from Zi Lin’s knowledge in his descent from the mountain, this crybaby girl had now clung to him, leaving him no choice but to bring her along.

And on their journey here, the two had relied on each other and suffered together, experiencing all kinds of difficulties together that nurtured their feelings towards each other.

Sheng Yi looked at her back and muttered as he shook his head, “The big trouble I have in the capital isn’t even settled yet, and now I have this little trouble. Hah, if Zi Lin’s existence is found out, what should I do? It wouldn’t be difficult to explain to father, but that crazy woman might just latch on to me.”

Zi Lin turned around as she skipped, looking at the face of the man that she loved, she quickly noticed the discomfiting expression on his face and quickly grabbed onto his arm worriedly, asking softly, “Brother Yi, why are you frowning? What are you worried about?”

Patting her head, Sheng Yi responded with a gentle voice, “Nothing much, I’m just thinking about how I can bring you back to meet my parents.”

Instantly, Zi Lin’s face became flushed as she became shy.

And then, she quickly dove into Sheng Yi’s embrace under his warm and gentle gaze.

“Alright, let’s go.” Sheng Yi picked her up in a bridal carry and walked towards their carriage, they were going to quickly make their way towards the capital.

But what they didn’t know was that there was a bloody rainstorm waiting for them in the capital.

In the remnants outside of South Village.

More than a hundred thousand people had ravaged this area in search of treasures, almost depleting the resources within the remnant. However, there were still quite a number of hopeful people looking around, hoping to find something for themselves.

Wang Xiao Qi was one of them.

As a treasure hunter, he spent his time deep in mountains and seas in search of spiritual items and fortuitous encounters. He was of the Origin realm, attained by relying on his family’s secret arcane and resources, he was considered to be somewhat remarkable amongst the wandering cultivators, but his true achievements lay in the treasure-hunting world. However, it was a pity that he had been occupied with spectating the spar between the disciples of One Shot and Poisonous Old Ghost at the West Frontier when the remnants appeared. By the time he had rushed here, most of the treasures were already looted.

The South Village King, who had obtained great treasures had gone into seclusion to cultivate, stating that he was going to refine those treasures. As for the management of the South Village army, it was delegated to the 28 Manifestation realm experts under his command.

During Sheng Yi’s escape, he killed quite a number of Origin realm and Manifestation realm experts, shocking everyone that had heard the news.

However, none of this concerned Wang Xiao Qi. As a professional treasure, he was painstakingly exploring the remnants slowly.

What hurt his heart most was that such a vast remnant was picked clean of treasures, there wasn’t a single item remaining here that was even acceptable to a treasure hunter like him.

“Aiyo, I’m going to die of frustration! What is this! Fuck!” Wang Xiao Qi cursed as he kicked a stone by his feet.

At the same time, the sounds of a chase could be heard from afar. With the twitch of his ear, his figure flickered as he swiftly appeared on a branch of a nearby tree.

He could see the trees ahead of him shaking as three human silhouettes flew out. The frontmost was a figure trying to run away while being followed by two swordsmen wearing white.

“Su Mian, you can’t escape, just hand over your treasures!” One of the swordsmen bellowed.

Wang Xiao Qi’s ears twitched as his gaze focused, he had a thought.

Treasure?

Looking at the three people that were in the Crystallisation realm, he decided to continue observing.

“You wish! I painstakingly dug out this treasure myself! And now, you want to just take it away? I won’t hand it over! Not even to a Manifestation realm expert!” Su Mian, who was running in the front quickly threw two punches behind him that were quickly blocked by a sword light. In the backlash of his attack, his bare fists exploded.

“Ahhhhh!” Su Mian screamed in agony as he faltered, tripping to the ground as he bled.

The two swordsmen quickly appeared at his side, surrounding him. One of them cut off his four limbs with his sword while the other observed the vicinity. After he was sure that no one was there, he turned to sneer at Su Mian, who was lying on the ground.

Circulating his family’s arcane, Wang Xiao Qi suppressed his heart rate and breathing as much as possible to guarantee his concealment before continuing to watch the situation unfold.

“Liu Chang Feng, Liu Chang Hai! I’ll curse you even in my death!” Su Mian cried out miserably as he rolled on the floor, his limbless appearance resembling a human stick.

Liu Chang Feng, the swordsman that had cut off his four limbs, stepped onto his body as he retrieved the bag of holding on his waist. With a gentle tap, he broke through its defence and searched its contents with his spiritual power, quickly finding the item he was looking for.

A blood-red crystal was in Liu Chang Feng’s hand.

In that split second, all four pairs of eyes were locked onto the crystal.

How beautiful! How powerful! How powerfully beautiful!

A similar thought flashed past all of their minds.

Even Wang Xiao Qi, who had seen all kinds of spiritual items before, didn’t experience something like this before.

The powerful and beautiful red aura was swirling within the crystal.

What was that?

“Hahahaha! The Dragon God’s bloodline! It’s ours now!” Liu Chang Feng laughed madly.

“That’s right!” Liu Chang Hai swung his sword, instantly killing Su Mian, who was still staring at the crystal. His head rolled on the ground thrice before stopping, yet his eyes were still glued onto the crystal.

“Elder brother, is that the Dragon God Crystal? Can it really bestow a bloodline upon us?” Liu Chang Hai asked in curiosity.

Wang Xiao Qi, who was still hidden on the tree, almost couldn’t contain his aura any further.

Bestow a bloodline?

What exactly is that crystal?

Can it really bestow an innate talent bloodline upon a human?

“Hah! Of course, hahaha. Even if everyone knew about the remnant near South Village, they wouldn’t know about the remnants hidden under the valley next to it!” Liu Chang Feng played with the bloodline crystal in his hands as he laughed.
