Chapter 569: Inconsequential

Chapter 569: Inconsequential

"Ancestor Shu Qing I had to kill them my son my husband, I had to end them to save the others."

Many of the younger generations might think that those who fight for eons do it because they enjoy its thrill. That the Ancestors fight to fill their blood boil and to spread their names, no, that could not be any further from the truth.

The leaders of the Major Powers do not simply fight because they are bored, no, they do it so they could protect those important to them. Their long lives led to the fight because they have people to protect.

However, with the invasion, many of them lost everything and everyone, Wang Shu Qing knew of this truth, [Mu Wei really suffered.]

Wang Shu Qing couldn't even imagine killing his family for the sake of survival. Wang Shu Qing could understand her desire to die, "But, you cannot die, yet, we still have to fight to protect those who are left."

Mu Wei slowly raised her head, and with despair in her eyes, she asked him, "Are we really needed? The All-Father, and the All-Mother are already here, and they can decimate anything and everything, we are but ants in the tiny way of what they can do."

Mu Wei, one of the last remaining Elves was once such person. She was heading back to her Family when the invasion happened and when she arrived, only a quarter of her people remained.

The Masters all slain and simply buying time, and the Great Tree of life burning down with like the rest of the forest. Mu Wei hurried to get to them as quickly as she could and fought back the Revenants and the Demons.

She steeled her resolve to slay those who had been transformed into Demons. She wanted to cry with every swing, but she fought them back just so she could save what remained, but even that ended in failure.

She was beaten, and at the last moments, the Great Tree of Life gave its existence to her and brought forth enlightenment that granted her the ability to cross the line of an Ascendant cultivator to that of a God and match the Ancestors of the past.

With her newfound strength Mu Wei slaughtered the Revenants and the Demons. She attained victory, but when she turned around, what used to number hundreds of thousands became a mere few thousand, almost everyone was slain including her son and husband who fought valiantly to defend against the first wave of the invasion.

Mu Wei barely managed to keep them alive and she was at her last straws as to what she should do. Her body reverted to its peak a minute later as more portals opened, and with the remaining elves behind her, Mu Wei resolved herself to death.

But then, the skies parted as a White Portal of unknown origin appeared. A woman wearing red robes descended like a Goddess that bestowed life by her presence. Mu Wei and the Elves are known for their beauty, but no one could even dare claim they could match even a sliver of her luster and behind her was an army of Deities.

The Goddess looked at the carnage and raised her hand, "Destroy them all." Thus, her hands descended.

The Deities acted upon receiving a command. They charged towards the unholy beings and with another wave of her hand, space warped and the fight was sent to another dimension, far from the already ravaged lands of the Elves.

She descended into the world and the dying trees were revitalized with a touch, the dying found their breath and the weak rose. Her presence alone gave everyone relief even though no one knew who she was.

The Goddess looked around, observing the carnage brought by the army of the dead. She was silent, and no one asked anything of her, no one could as they felt their hearts twisting with reverence just at the sight of her.

"It really hurts to see so much fallen. I haven't been able to relieve my stress even after beating Ling to the ground and I haven't taken a life in so long." The Goddess waved her hands and the Revenants and Demons appeared in the skies, "Retreat."

She commanded the Deities and they who claimed the skies, land, and seas as their own followed her orders without so much as an eke of dissatisfaction. They stood behind her and both the Revenants and Demons roared in defiance of her existence.

They rushed to her, and the Goddess raised her finger and then pointed down, "Fall." She coldly spoke.

BOOM!

A crater, as deep as twenty meters was formed and as the pressure around their bodies force them down. They tried to fight back, but, the Goddess at its edge had already summoned her nine tails. In both hands appeared a ball of air and on the other fire.

She blew at the two ball of light, and as they wavered floating down, the Goddess' voice echoed, "I know that you all are clones of Ling before his death, so I have something to tell you all before you all die I'm taking this as a win."

The Revenants heard her voice and while the Abyssal Demons shrieked in defiance, they all just smiled, saying, "You're so petty, Xue."

They laughed as the balls activated. The wind transformed into a storm and then as the spark ignited, the flames of the Inferno came to incinerate everything that Bai Xue didn't like.

With a single utterance of a word the Revenants and the Abyssal Demons fell to their knees, and with a move, she ended everything. Later, when Mu Wei boards one of the Sailers, she would come to know that she was the All-Mother.

Mu Wei looked at everyone and asked them, "They are the incarnation of the creators, they have control over everything, and their strength is unmatchable. Do we even matter in this war!?"

No one could answer at least no one in the room could.

"Yes, we do." Answered a man walking into the War Room with a white fox wrapped around his neck, "We need everyone strong enough to help us to protect everyone and everything."

Finally, Wang Ling and Bai Xue have arrived.
