Chapter 29 - Unintential helper

Chapter 29 - Unintential helper

"A high acting aphrodisiac and some traces of another powerful drug that causes loss of inhibition." Jing Lihua glanced at the reports for the second cup. "A rare, strong sedative. That will cause the person to lose coordination and drowsiness. It will also induce a certain degree of inhibition."

Jing Lihua was in deep thoughts. So is this why Su Liwei behaved that way? Then... if he knew it was Jing Tian plan, why did he stay with her? Was it to stop Jing Tian to carry out her plan? But why would he care for her? What were his real intentions?

"Did you keep the whole process secretive?"

"Yes, President. No one knows about the reports. I had my trusted friend perform the tests at our own place"

"Alright, Bengwen. Your next task is to find out the records for all these drugs. These are not some random products. She couldn’t get her hands on them without a prescription from a doctor. Given how stupid my sister is, she would have left a clue for sure. But make sure, you’ll have to stay as secretive as possible. Our enemy must not even get a whisper of what we’re up to."

Heng Bigwen’s eyes lightened. His President was a devil incarnation. Her schemes were flawless. Slowly, she would make chase her enemies to the corner and torture them until they had no choice but to jump into their trap on their own. She managed to outplay her enemies while looking dumb and innocent all along!

And strangely... he liked her vicious ways!

"And Mei Xiu, what is the minimum penalty for an attempted assault and drugging someone?"

Mei Xiu had already given up on being surprised at her President’s astonishing plots and in her heart, she already worshiped her like she was a goddess.

"Three years in Prison. Is President planning to sue her sister?"

"No. That would be stupid. I just want to have something to manipulate her."

Jing Lihua knew how stupid her sister was. In her last life, she had trusted Su Liwei and betrayed her own blood for his sake. She had helped him to drown Tang enterprise and Jing family business, making them both go bankrupt. She had handled him everything. She went as far as to get herself pregnant and claiming it was Su Liwei’s child.

Su Liwei’s target was not only Jing Lihua but the whole Jing family. Slowly he destroyed their business whole until they were homeless. In the end, he even discarded Jing Tian who abandoned her family for him.

"Have you found the person she suborned?"

"Yes, it was Jing household driver. I sent a man to fetch him. But demanded a monetary bribe for testifying against Jing Tian."

Jing Lihua’s eyes darkened. She laughed drily. Did he think she was the same simple girl they used to bully in Jing’s household?

"You know what to do"

"Yes, President. I already have him detained" Even Mei Xiu eyes burned with anger. How dare that measly driver demand money from her President! Not to mention he once agreed to do such a disgusting thing to their dear President. Even the thought of it burned Mei Xiu blood to no end. Did he think he can escape once the President found him out?

At best he should have packed his stuff and already flew out of the country. Instead, he dared to demand money?

There was a deep meaning behind the word ’detained’. Tang enterprise had a hidden underground bas.e.m.e.nt to ’detain’ those people like him. The witnesses and other people who refused to corporate in the frequent court matters her big enterprise had to deal with. They even had specialists to make them open their mouths employing all sorts of legal and illegal methods. Only the President and the trusted secretaries knew about its existence.

When Mei Xiu left, Heng Bingwen remained.

"President, I made a progress on the person who is keeping Tang enterprise under surveillance"

"Did you find out who it is?"

Heng Bingwen looked embarrassed.

"I couldn’t easily pinpoint their identity. But what I’ve discovered, this is not a single person behind it. There are at least more than fifty of them. They operate day and night without sparing any effort. They all seem professional."

Jing Lihua was shocked. She took some time to digest all the information. Silence fell on both of them. Who could it be? Who would employ such a big force to keep her under track?

"Are you sure?"

"Yes... I managed to find out the source from where they are operating. It is a barren place from Hong Kong. But in my attempts, I-I accidentally cautioned them. Now they are alert. Now it is even more difficult to track them down."

Hong Kong. The word resounded in her mind. Jing Lihua leaned back against the leather chair. A massive force from Hong Kong targetting her. Tang enterprise was a big name in Beijing. But in Hong Kong, there existed powers far bigger than her Tang family or Su family. Who wanted to keep her under track? Who could it be?

"You don’t need to feel guilty. You did your best. They are professionals and not to mention a whole team of them. Instead, it is only you. To be able to track them is already commendable. Regardless of that, you have successfully managed the company’s setup. Without you, I doubt there it be possible to keep so many moles from our valuable information. And if somehow, Su Liwei had gotten his hands over that information, all our recent projects would have ended up in a failure"

Did she have an enemy in Hong Kong? She gave it a thought. There wasn’t any she remembered from her previous life. So could it be the downfall of Tang’s enterprise in her last life was not solely caused by Su Liwei? But there was another force from Hong Kong behind it? Could they be collaborating with Su Liwei? Or could it be some of her grandfather’s enemies that had nothing to do with Su Liwei?

But if they intended to harm her, why haven’t they made a move by now?

"President..." Heng Bingwen was hesident.

"Go on"

"I’m not sure but there seem to be two groups of people"

"What do you mean?"

"While one team clearly holds malicious intentions towards Tang enterprise and wants to penetrate in our network, the other one... the other one seems to be working to intercede them." Heng Bingwen’s eyes glittered. "It was very interesting the fight between two groups of professionals. And it was due to this chaos, I found a glitch to slip in and lock in on their location. but I don’t know which one of the two groups it is. It might be our enemy in Hong Kong or it might be that unintentional helper"
