Cultivation Through Artifacts

Chapter 250 - Light Pillar

Sparks flew all around the place with each of Khal's hammer strikes while the Dark Oak Iron underwent slow, but visible changes.

Its already small size gradually became smaller while its deep black color strangely turned whiter, especially the veins inside it that Khal continuously hit with powerful swings.

CLANG~!

BAM!

After an entire hour later, the first Essence Burst appeared from the forged iron, shaking a few tools on the walls, but this didn't even hinder Khal from continuing his forging.

No, instead it made his swinging motions even faster as both of his hands started to move twice as fast as before, causing his arms to turn into nothing but blurriness!

Seconds turned into minutes and minutes became hours. After four hours of straight forging, suddenly the piece of metal erupted with another Essence Burst, but this time a unique aura engulfed its snow-white surface, one that Khal was quite familiar with.

'I succeeded with making its Spirit Essence!' Khal felt happy but knew he soon will be able to make something even greater thus quickly became serious and let the power in his body control him.

After reheating the metal, Khal continued to forge the now White Oak Iron, but to his surprise, when red dots appeared on the iron's surface, indicating he will start doing the Spirit Essence Refining technique, his body quickly moved to the fireplace and grabbed the bucket from inside it..

After so many hours, the cut-off pieces now completely became melted metal which Khal immediately poured on the small white cube and started to proceed on forging it.

Again, sharp and melodic sounds filled the Safety Chamber, but this time Khal struck with a much slower pace, even using only one hammer instead of two!

Hitting the red dots in his sight, Khal watched with shock as the melted iron began to seep into the White Oak Iron, causing all six sides of it to gradually turn half black and half white in a spiral-like shape, almost like a Yin-Yang sign!

BAM!

After a dozen or so strikes again, Essence Burst exploded from the piece of metal, while the Spirit Essence inside the iron's veins became denser with each second and only a few red dots remained on the cube.

'Spirit Essence Tempering!'

Khal quickly swung his arm and under a single minute, he struck all six sides of the cube exactly 24 times, turning the Spirit Essence inside it into something much greater, something much superior... Into Life Essence!

The whole iron emitted an aura of life while its surface even trembled and throbbed slightly from time to time almost as if it had a heart of its own!

'Amazing... So this is what Life Essence feels like.' Khal thought to himself with awe, as he felt his surroundings together with his body turn much calmer and warmer for some reason.

However, no matter how shocked he felt right now, his body still continued to move, but this time his strikes became even slower but at the same time thrice if not four times powerful, shaking not only the anvil but the entire room slightly each time he hit the cube with his hammer!

Meanwhile, outside the room, both Bazz and Chief Rou stood motionlessly, waiting patiently for Khal to finish his forging.

Time flew slowly, but even after 3 days the door still remained tightly shut, making the two men feel slightly worried.

Because both of them were professionals in the field of forging, they knew if one wanted to create Life Essence, they needed at least a day but not three! That is why when they saw Khal was still inside the Safety Chamber even after three days, they couldn't help but feel anxious.

And because Safety Chambers possessed several arrays that stopped any sounds or vibrations to leak outside from the rooms, they didn't even know what was happening inside, hence their worry only grew stronger with each passing hour.

"What should we do? Shouldn't we go inside?" Bazz couldn't resist the urge to ask as Khal was slowly inside the room for four straight days!

Chief Rou knew what Bazz tried to say, but just like Bazz, he was just as clueless about what to do as him. If they decided to enter the room, there was the possibility of disturbing Khal and causing him to fail immediately.

However, what if Khal was truly in danger and he was inside the room waiting for their help only to die because they didn't go inside? Just the thought of losing such a hidden gem like Khal made Chief Rou quickly decide and talk.

"We will wait three more hours and if he still doesn't come out, we will go ins-."

KA-BOOOM!!

However, just as he could have finished talking, blinding light exploded from the Safety Chamber the very moment as the doors before them were exploded wide open, while a mysterious and ancient power began to leak out of the room that neither Bazz nor Chief Rou have ever seen before!

"W-W-What is this? What happened?"

Both men stood in one place with stupified expressions as the only thing they were currently seeing was a mixture of black and white glow shining from inside the Safety Chamber with an almost blinding light!

However, not only they stared at this sight with stupified expressions, but everyone else inside Moon City and Moon Academy! All of them stood motionless on the streets or at the windows, staring at the thick pillar of light in the distance with widened eyes that were filled with shock and disbelief!

"Hm?"

Somewhere far away from the city, inside a huge and luxurious-looking smithery, a well-built man stopped swinging his hammer and looked in a specific direction with narrowed eyes.

After staring at one single point for several seconds straight without blinking, suddenly his eyes widened with alarm and without any hesitation vanished from his spot!

And it wasn't only him who did this as there were several other individuals all around the Southern Continent that turned shocked and started to move toward Moon City with rapid speed, some even approaching Moon City from the Eastern and the Western Continent!
