Chapter 13
C13 – Blessed by Misfortune
Upon returning to the Huo Family Villa, Yin Xu locked himself in his room, issuing a stern directive to the butler and Wu Sheng: “Unless it’s an emergency, refrain from disturbing me!”
Assuming Yin Xu had been mistreated by his peers, the butler and Wu Sheng left him to his solitude, hoping it would soothe his troubled spirit.
Yet, Yin Xu remained secluded for three days and nights, abstaining from sustenance. Were it not for occasional sounds emanating from his quarters, they might have presumed he was transcending to the Immortal Realm.
With a resounding thud, Yin Xu withdrew his hand, a gleeful expression adorning his face.
At last, his endeavor was fulfilled! Five paces away, a shattered table lay in silence upon the floor.
Upon delving into the Flame Yang Spell, Yin Xu concluded it was incompatible with his Profound Yin Body not due to blocked meridians, but due to its overtly positive nature.
Imagining practicing such a technique from a young age, Yin Xu conjectured it would have been fatal, likely leading to demise before the age of five.
A sigh escaped Yin Xu’s lips.
Realizing the Flame Yang Spell was untenable, Yin Xu reverted to previous knowledge, selecting the Devilish Exercise as his primary focus, considering its alignment with his physique.
Navigating between levels too high for practical use and levels too low for efficacy, compounded by the absence of spiritual energy, Yin Xu faced challenges in finding a suitable cultivation technique.
After two days of relentless scrutiny, Yin Xu settled upon “Infinite Devil Return to the Heart,” a martial art pillaged from his conquest over the three major devil sects.
Intent on refining the technique, Yin Xu opted not to adhere strictly to its original path, confident in his ability to rectify its deficiencies at the Tribulation Realm.
With a surge of elation, Yin Xu commenced cultivation, momentarily disregarding hunger pangs.
Thanks to its partially self-fashioned nature, Yin Xu’s cultivation proceeded with remarkable ease, complemented by his profound understanding of various Devilish Exercises, culminating in the condensation of Demonic Qi within four hours.
Although hindered by narrow meridians and blockages, Yin Xu remained unfazed, confident that the potency of Demonic Qi, coupled with consistent channeling, would eventually remedy these impediments.
Recognizing the necessity of fortifying the body alongside soul cultivation, Yin Xu acknowledged the inherent weakness of many Demonic Cultivators—a frail physique hindering their progress in strength.
Nevertheless, many Demonic Cultivators overlooked this aspect, as they could simply inhabit another body if their current one proved too feeble. Yet, they often neglected the fact that even successful Possession might not result in a complete fusion of soul and body.
Upon hearing the commotion, the usually composed housekeeper could no longer maintain his calm demeanor. He instructed Wu Sheng to forcefully break down the door and hurried inside.
“Young Master, are you unharmed?” The butler and Wu Sheng gazed in astonishment at the shattered remnants of the door strewn across the floor.
Despite the disruption, Yin Xu’s countenance retained a serene smile as he arched an eyebrow and responded, “Why worry? Everything is under control.”
With newfound determination, he tightened his fists, no longer feeling powerless.
Passing through the debris, the butler reached Yin Xu’s side and gently touched his forehead, expressing concern, “Are you sure you’re alright?”
Despite abstaining from food for the past three days, his young master appeared unusually energized. Why the sudden burst of vitality?
Having reabsorbed the Demonic Qi into his body, Yin Xu rose to his feet, engaging in a few jumps before lazily stretching and rubbing his stomach. “I believe I’m hungry. Fetch me something to eat,” he instructed.
Sensing the urgency, Wu Sheng promptly made his exit. Soon after, he returned with a box of food.
“Young master, the butler was uncertain when you would emerge, thus he requested the kitchen fire to remain lit. Since these dishes have been reheated thrice already, please indulge,” Wu Sheng explained as he placed the dishes on the brick bed by the window.
Eyeing the lifeless form on the table, Wu Sheng hesitated momentarily before proceeding.
Yin Xu endured three days and nights of starvation, evident in his visibly diminished frame and the expulsion of impurities from his body.
While previously overlooked, these changes now demanded attention.
“Let’s forget about it and focus on bathing and changing,” Yin Xu decided, suppressing his hunger as Wu Sheng prepared the bathwater.
Submerged in the warmth of the water, the pangs of hunger intensified. Hastily washing himself, he donned a single robe and settled onto the brick bed.
