Chapter 659 - Supernatural Figures?
Chapter 659: Supernatural Figures?
“I don’t even know what’s going on.”
Chen Zhao only heard about the Hell Cruise and learned more about it from Charlotte.
As for what really happened on it, he didn’t know either.
Charlotte couldn’t provide much more information either.
Right now, the pier was very still because it wasn’t 12 yet. One could only hear the waves crashing.
Charlotte checked the time. It was a bit after 11:30.
Right then, a car came over. Four young men and women came out.
Chen Zhao and Charlotte exchanged glances, surprised.
People of the same field?
“Hi, are you waiting for the Hell Cruise too?”
The leader was a handsome man. He glanced at Charlotte, Cindy, and Alyss, but his eyes went back to Charlotte in the end.
Compared to the youthful Cindy and Alyss, the mature and sexy Charlotte was clearly more attractive.
“I am Haus Mann, president of the Supernatural Research Union.”
Supernatural Research Union? Chen Zhao was the president of the Supernatural Organization.
They counted as colleagues, right?
“My name is Chen. I’m from the Supernatural Organization. Our groups have similar names.”
“Charlotte, Witch Society.”
The two sides introduced each other. In addition to Haus Mann, there was also Kasili, Hannah, and Jarion.
“You want to defeat the Hell Cruise too?”
“It’s mainly that we haven’t seen it before, so we wanted to check it out,” Haus said.
Charlotte looked at the four, but she couldn’t figure out their backgrounds.
“It’s very dangerous,” she said.
“We wouldn’t have come if we’re afraid,” Haus said confidently.
Awooga!
Right then, a ship’s horn sounded. A huge black shadow came out of the hazy distant sea.
Everyone’s eyes focused on the shadow. It was the silhouette of a ship.
The huge ship was covered in rust.
Haus felt his knees give out and he took two steps back subconsciously. Behind him, Kalisi, Hannah, and Jarion were also a bit scared.
Charlotte turned to look at them. “You’re regular people?”
“Regular people? No, we’re not.” Haus yelled as if sensing Charlotte’s demeaning eyes.
The cruise ship got closer and closer. It finally stopped by the dock.
No one could be seen on deck, but a ladder was thrown down.
Charlotte exchanged glances with Chen Zhao and they nodded at the same time.
The two climbed up one after another. Cindy and Alyss climbed too.
“Haus, should we go too?”
“Is that the Hell Cruise?”
“So scary.”
“Don’t forget. We’re from the Supernatural Research Union. We will undo these mysteries. Let’s go.”
Haus started climbing the ladder. Kalisi and Hannah looked at each other. They could only follow behind him.
Only Jarion didn’t start climbing. Haus looked at him from halfway up. “Jarion, you’re not coming?”
“No, you guys go. I won’t go...” Jarion said.
“Coward. You aren’t part of the group anymore.”
Jarion’s expression grew uncomfortable. He, Kalisi, and Hannah all joined the Supernatural Research Union mostly because Haus gave them a lot of money.
That was why they accompanied Haus in his supernatural games. They usually went to check out haunted houses or creep around caves.
If Haus wasn’t a rich heir, no one would play these childish games with him.
But then the ship started moving.
Before the three could climb onto the deck, the ship already started moving away from the dock.
Chen Zhao, Charlotte, Cindy, and Alyss hadn’t entered the cabin yet when they saw four people climb on.
“You guys really came?” Charlotte furrowed her brows.
“It’s not like this is your place.” Haus glanced around. “It looks like someone’s prank.”
“Who would drive a cruise ship out for a prank?” Chen Zhao rolled his eyes.
“Haus, let’s go.” Hannah tugged at his arm. The chilly breeze made her shiver.
“Where can we go?”
Charlotte’s group of four ignored them and searched for an entrance.
Just then, Haus caught up.
“Wait, let’s work together.”
“The deck is slightly safer. Who knows about the inside?” Charlotte warned.
“We obviously came here to take risks.”
“Ignore them... There’s a door here.”
Chen Zhao pulled hard and a hot gust of air hit his face.
The temperature inside the cabin was higher than outside. Fog rose up above the sea now too.
“Later, have Cindy and Alyss attack first. Let them practice a bit. Wait until they can’t solve a problem before acting.”
“Okay.”
The cabin hallway wasn’t wide. It was a design from the 70s or 80s and not very efficient. It was even smaller than a hotel’s hallways.
The light overhead was dim and yellow; the floor was wood.
Stepping on it would produce creaks that made one uncomfortable.
Just then, a shriek came from the outside.
And they saw Haus and the two girls run in.
“What’s wrong? What did you see outside?”
“Bugs! Huge bugs!”
“What kind of bugs?”
“I don’t know. They climbed in from the wall. So many of them. They’re like larvae.”
Chen Zhao turned back and looked outside the cabin, but there was nothing there.
“Where? I don’t see anything.”
“No way.” Haus came to the door too and looked outside timidly. Indeed, there was nothing there.
“Did you see incorrectly?”
Haus’s expression was confused. “I really saw it...” he mumbled.
Chen Zhao was suspicious. He glanced at the two girls. They seemed terrified too.
Just then, mist outside the door flooded over.
Suddenly, Chen Zhao looked again and the deck was covered in insects.
There really were insects! They were all fat pupa.
But when the wind scattered the mist, all of the insects disappeared.
“Is it a hallucination?” Chen Zhao grew suspicious.
Was it because of the mist?
He wasn’t sure, but he still shut the door tightly.
“You saw it too, right? You saw it, right? I wasn’t lying.”
“Chen, what’s going on? Are there really insects out there?”
“They appear and then disappear,” Chen Zhao said.
“Let’s go look inside,” Charlotte said. “Maybe we’ll discover something. This place gives me a bad feeling.”
