Chapter 9: Hyperborean Heartwyrm
Chapter 9: Hyperborean Heartwyrm
Jay, now having completed his bonding and reunification of his family, decided he would like to try the other feature of creating gods. Jay asked Phineas,"Do I need to know anything in particular when it comes to this mode of creating gods?"
Phineas nodded and said,"Yes Father, you can design all the way to the final stages, but if your God is too ridiculous the system will flag it as a being that cannot exist. What I mean is if you gave 1 God the ability of both creation and destruction as skills or talents or whatever it may be, the system will not recognize it as a valid lifeforms because such a being would need as much godly energy to survive on a daily basis as you would to create a new species every 100 or so years."
Jay nodded as he understood this critical point. Gods were extremely powerful beings compared to normal people, however even they had apparent evolutionary limits where they simply would not even be allowed to exist. It may sense scientifically, at least in the shallow understanding that Jay had in the sciences at this moment.
Jay was about to enter the machine when Stelara asked,"Daddy, can I watch you make my new brother?"
Jay turned to Phineas and raised his eyebrow in a questioning look. Phineas nodded in confirmation with a tinge of regret on his face at this look as he already knew the answer to the question before it was asked.
Jay said,"Ok sweetheart" and put out his hand,"but you have to hold my hand while we're in the machine ok?"
She smiled brightly and said,"Ok!" while nodding her head vigorously. She then grabbed Jay's hand and had a gleaming smile on her face. As Jay turned to enter the machine, Stelara turned and gave a tongue out to Phineas as revenge for the planet's name.
Phineas gasped as he watched her go, unable to comprehend that she had just bested him. Stelara is now witnessing the birth of a new God in front of her eyes, possibly even contributing to it! This was a huge honor and she had guessed (correctly) that Phineas probably had wanted to Jay to take him with him.
Sol walked up to Phineas and sucked a sharp breath of air and clicked with her tongue as she said,"tsk, tsk, tsk, you swung first my new son, unfortunately it seems she got the the first hit in."
She smiled as Phineas just chuckled and accepted his defeat. She also chuckled as she asked," So how do I cook here?"
Phineas said,"Oh, it's easy, here I can teach you.."
HHHHH
Jay and Stelara were now in the machine that helped Jay bring his family to this world. Jay now seriously thought about pampering a machine as if it was a dog or something!
Stelara asked innocently,"Daddy, what new God are you going to make first?"
Jay said,"System locate Hyperwyrms, locate strongest male and bring him here. Ah but before that at least give it some sort of warning. Time is still frozen for them."
A few seconds went by and then suddenly an audible pop! like a confetti popper sounded. The sound also announces the arrival of the strongest male that was requested.
Jay knew intuitively that these lizards were nocturnal, that they were patriarchal in nature, and that they were slowly starting to evolve into a bigger, more nimble, and much more aggressive snake breed like he had on earth.
Jay liked that these weird little snakes had gone down an evolutionary path that not many lizards had the chance to even take. He didn't want to see it go to waste.
Jay said to Stelara,"This is called a Hyperborean Heartwyrm, or a Hyperwyrm for short as I call them. I want to transform this little guy into the God of the night, where ever he flies, the night follows him. I will have him be a nomad God, who brings the night with him, and blesses the land with a good night's rest, having a subtle healing effect for those who may be feeling ill or the injured."
Stelara was amazed and said,"Wow, my new brother is gonna be so cool!" while jumping up and down excitedly.
Jay looked at the winged snaked and communicated his desire to transform into a new God. Jay was the creator of every life form on the planet, how could he not be able to speak with his own creations?
The snake for its part was enthusiastic about getting such a great reward! It had struggled for nearly a decade to preserve its colony from outside threats while also putting down the beta snakes that threatened his position as the strongest. However it seemed that he had not wasted all that effort and was rewarded with God hood!
Jay felt a set of tools in his unoccupied hand he felt the familiar feeling.
At this moment Stelara also felt she was holding something but didn't know what it was so she didn't ask for now.
Jay started to work on the new body of the beast as he enlarged its size by nearly 20x, becoming as large as 3 commercial airliners stacked on stop of each other.
As Stelara was in awe, Jay quickly imbued the wings with the energy of the night. Putting this energy in his wings, if Jay was right, would mean that he would literally be flapping the night into existence. Right now, Jay's planet did not have a night time because the planet directly behind it, which was uninhabitable, was full of a reflective diamond material and would beam the sun onto the back of the planet. This happened every 100 to 120 years and the night cycle stopped for about 8 years at a time every time the planets aligned.
Jay worked on the wings fervently and with passion.
Stelara gripped the imaginary tools in her hand, and she started to think..
