Deviant: No Longer Human

Chapter 542: Becoming a real Guardian Officialy!

Wang Xiao's cruel grin widened as he leaned in closer to Zhao Lian, his lips brushing against her ear as he whispered.

"Asmodeus was a failure... He couldn't protect you, couldn't even keep you pure." His fingers dug into her hips, pulling her harder against him as he continued his brutal thrusts. "And Renji? He's sitting right there, doing nothing. He's failed you too. Useless."

Zhao Lian's face was flushed with a mixture of anger and shame, tears streaking down her cheeks as she felt her body being taken without mercy.

The sound of Wang Xiao's words cut deeper than anything else, slicing into her already fragile sense of dignity.

"But this time," Wang Xiao whispered, his voice dripping with mockery, "you've chosen the right side." He licked the side of her face, his breath hot on her skin. "You're with me now… and I always win."

Her mind was reeling, filled with humiliation, rage, and disbelief. Every fiber of her being screamed to fight, but her body betrayed her, torn between pain and the cruel pleasure he forced upon her.

She could feel her strength slipping away, crushed under his strength.

"Don't worry," Wang Xiao taunted as he thrust even deeper, her body shuddering from the force. "I'll take care of you better than they ever could. You'll learn to love this."

His words were venomous, meant to break her completely.

Each thrust was a reminder of her powerlessness, of how little control she had left over her own life.

She had no choice.

Zhao Lian's eyes quivered, the flood of emotions overwhelming her as fresh tears began to spill down her already swollen, red eyes.

Through the blur of tears, she glanced back—desperate, searching for anything—and there he was, Renji, sitting motionless, his eyes closed, pretending as if nothing was happening.

The cold indifference hit her harder than Wang Xiao's brutal touch.

It crushed whatever last shred of hope she had left. Renji, the man who was supposed to protect her, the man she thought might intervene, was doing nothing.

He didn't even acknowledge her suffering.

Her heart shattered.

"K... kill... him..." she stammered, her voice barely above a whisper, filled with broken desperation. Suddenly, with a burst of frantic energy, she grabbed Wang Xiao's collar, her eyes wide and pleading, her hands trembling as she clung to him. "Please... just kill him!"

Her voice cracked, a mixture of rage, anguish, and bitter resignation. In that moment, she didn't care about her dignity, her past, or even her future.

She just wanted it all to end.

She wanted Renji to feel the same pain she was feeling now.

Yuzuki watched them with growing interest, her eyes gleaming as she took in every detail, intrigued by the chaotic development. Meanwhile, Liu Yanmei now sitting back in her seat, was utterly confused.

Her mind was fucked as she tried to make sense of it all.

In her logical world, guardians like Renji were supposed to be the emperors—the highest figures of authority, feared and respected.

The Prince, as she understood, should have been beneath them. But what she was seeing now shattered that belief entirely.

Does this mean… all this time, we should have feared the Prince and not the guardian?*

Her thoughts spiraled in confusion as she watched Wang Xiao assert his dominance, controlling the room with such ease.

Renji's eyes slowly opened, a hollow look in them as he gazed at Zhao Lian. Her trembling body was pressed against Wang Xiao, her back facing him.

The way her blonde hair clung to her skin, messily covering her bare figure, gave her the haunting appearance of a vengeful spirit—her red, swollen eyes staring at him, burning with hate.

He could only manage a bitter smile, thinking to himself, 'So, you wanted to use him to kill me?'

His gaze shifted toward Wang Xiao, who was watching him with an unsettling grin. Wang Xiao's smile widened further, his eyes gleaming as if he'd achieved exactly what he had hoped for.

Slap!

A sharp sound cut through the room as Wang Xiao slapped Zhao Lian's bare butt under the table, his grin twisted with amusement.

"Enough," he said mockingly. "Do you really think you're valuable enough for me to fall out with him over you?" His words were like daggers, delivered with a casual cruelty.

"..."

Zhao Lian's face darkened, the weight of realization sinking in.

She had been played—manipulated from the start. She thought she had some kind of control, some kind of influence, but it was all an illusion.

Wang Xiao had fanned the flames of her anger, setting her against Renji, making her believe she was the one making choices.

But in reality, she had fallen right into his trap. Now, with her relationship with Renji in ruins, she had no choice but to align herself with Wang Xiao. There was nowhere else to go.

But as for Wang Xiao doing anything for her? Was she truly valuable enough to warrant that?

Her thoughts raced as she considered her own worth. She had not too many extraordinary powers like her father, Asmodeus. She was simply a cold beauty, a conquest for men like Wang Xiao—someone to ravage, but not someone to protect.

But in time…

She thought desperately, 'I will become valuable enough. I have to become valuable enough…'

Her eyes hardened, a new determination rising within her. Renji Hayashi had failed her.

She would become powerful enough to make Wang Xiao kill him for her.

Having achieved his purpose, Wang Xiao didn't dwell further on Zhao Lian, who still clung to him with the last shreds of her broken pride.

If she showed any sign of disobedience in the future, he would deal with her accordingly. But for now, she was just right—a useful asset molded by her own fear and desperation.

Her personality was perfect for it.

Shifting his attention, Wang Xiao's eyes narrowed as he fixed his gaze on Renji. "What did you do with that fake guardian?" he asked, his tone laced with suspicion.

His mind wandered back to the fake Asmodeus, who had briefly posed as the Guardian of Europe. The thought of someone impersonating his enemy disgusted him.

Renji, trying to keep his face calm despite the tension and Zhao Lian's glaring eyes, answered, "He's dead."

"Oh?" Wang Xiao raised an eyebrow, letting out an amused sigh. The mention of skinwalkers surfaced in his mind.

'Interesting,' he thought, eyeing Renji carefully.

Could Renji have been dealing with them too?

Naturally, Wang Xiao wouldn't reveal his suspicions just yet. Whoever had orchestrated these events was no fool.

Renji wouldn't have kept the skinwalkers around once he discovered Wang Xiao knew of them. Still, it made him wonder how much Renji truly knew and what his long-term plans were.

Wang Xiao grinned slightly, but his next question was sharp. "So, when are you announcing me as the real Guardian of Europe?"
