Dimensional Store System In Apocalypse

Chapter 192: Before Returning (1)

Chapter 192: Before Returning (1)

"Boss! Would you like to come and take a look at this?" one of the subordinates from the local group approached Zhang Qin Feng with an eagerness to show him something.

Seeing how enthusiastic is the member looked, Zhang Qin Feng agreed to follow him and went to one level below the ground level. Because the generator is now providing more than enough electricity they needed for the facilities under their control, there's an excess of power to be diverted into this hardly notable facility.

"Wow… Were all of these plants the mutated Soypod Tree?" Zhang Qin Feng was clueless about them and just randomly guessed. But his guesses weren't off by a lot because only the produce from this tree was edible right now.

"It's the Soypod Tree, but this one here is what left into the maturation chamber we abandoned before this because there's a limit of energy we can use. Since they're still alive, we can go along with what's left and start propagating them until this facility is filled with them." the member said.

"Good. I'm excited and looking forward to that day. While we're still on this topic, do you know if we have any other products that produce edible fruits or seeds?" Zhang Qin Feng asked out of curiosity.

There are no other plants that were edible so far from what he had known. Of course, this facility might have some seedlings kept aside to be used like right now.

He could bring some of the seeds from his world here too, but that would be too risky as he won't know if the condition is suitable for the plants from his world to grow here. It would be best to rely on what they had and get back on track from there.

"We have five seed samples in total, but I think two of them were contaminated. The members good with hydroponics and plantation tried to cultivate them before but failed miserably. I could start the project again if the boss wished to see some results." the member replied.

"Good. Then get it started. If you need some help, let my Vice-Leader Satella know." Zhang Qin Feng said and placed his hand firmly on the member's shoulder. His action was like a flint that lit up the ember hidden deep inside the member's heart.

"I'll do my best for the Wind Base, boss! You can confidently leave these things to me!" said the member.

After they're done talking about the plants, Zhang Qin Feng left the underground level and returned to the surface. To his surprise, this place was where he killed the mutated chameleon before this.

'Was there a coincidence that the monster runs over here? Let's hope nothing else is in between this…' Zhang Qin Feng looked around and left this place.

Once again, before he managed to get any further, Victor was the next one to catches him doing his inspection. The leader seems unbothered by the proper respect the others were showing to Zhang Qin Feng.

Without asking for his permission first, Victor grabbed Zhang Qin Feng's wrist and pulled him straight into a considerably bigger building. The two walked for a while until they finally arrived at the deepest room in the building.

"I'm sure you'll be excited," said Victor. Swiping his executive card on the control panel, it opened the door into a restricted access room.

[Look's like the power supply was more than enough to power this facility. Perhaps the user could start considering the option of genetic-modifying your soldiers to create yourself an army of supersoldiers]

The system said. It seems that the initial preparation was almost ready for Zhang Qin Feng to fully utilize everything he had.

With this Genetic Modifier powered and running, all he was left is the surgery module required to automatically operate the chair. As long that problem is solved, creating his own supersoldier won't be a plain dream anymore.

From the look of it, his plan of taking over this facility was a correct one. First of all, the increase in the number of areas and facilities they had here would contribute to the base's self-improvement without a doubt.

And from here, they're be getting an upgrade and more upgrades, depending on how far they're willing to go. While trying to reach the level of their previous civilization might be difficult, getting one-tenths of what they had before the apocalypse would be more than enough.

But they'll have to start worrying about something else after this.

This was something unavoidable for someone who was trying to maintain such an extensive base. With the increases in human activities, their position will soon enter the sight of both zombies and survivors.

One will be here for their brains, and another would be coming here for their resources.

"Victor, I'll talk to Satella later, but get ready to choose a few people to start the modification program. Includes Queenie and Alex into your list of soldiers for modification. I won't mind if you, Valerian, Marvin, Miria, and Miriam are joining the program too. But make sure it will not hinder the base's day-to-day operation."

"Also, we have to start preparing more arsenals. You should understand where we should be focusing on, correct?" Zhang Qin Feng's following order did not touch on the apparent matter, but it was clear enough to make Victor understand.

Part of the reason he chooses to speak with Victor about this was not that Marvin and the others weren't as reliable as Victor, but because their focus lies on different matters. To Zhang Qin Feng, everyone in this base was indispensable.

And Victor was the best one to plan upfront in this regard.

"Leave this to me. I'll make sure that no zombies would be leaving our place after coming, and no survivors dare to think of troubling us after visiting." Victor replied. Zhang Qin Feng smiled after hearing his words.

It seems Satella was waiting for him when he came out from the building with Victor. Knowing that it was time to take care of something else, Zhang Qin Feng left Victor and walked with Satella accompanying him.
