Chapter 38
C38 – Entering the School!
“Your Highness, the enrollment qualification for the Long Song City Academy you requested has been arranged. A dedicated teacher will be in contact with you there.”
“However… are you certain you wish to enroll in the most basic class?”
Amidst the extensive renovations at Thundery Castle, Chai Jiu hadn’t anticipated that His Highness would actually require him to secure a spot in the Magic Academy’s Beginner Class.
Considering that, based on the battle at East Village, Hua Jie had demonstrated skills befitting at least a High Level Mage.
“Yes, leave this matter to me. Your task is to ensure the construction of Thundery Castle is completed to perfection. Later on, I’ll inscribe a few additional Magic Arrays.”
Choo Qin gestured dismissively, taking the envelope from Chai Jiu and signaling for him to exit.
There were some things he found too awkward to discuss with others.
After Chen Kai informed him that possessing an “Origin” was essential for advancing to a Great Sorcerer, he relied on his system and quick wits to approach the next level.
But unexpectedly, when searching for books at the Mage Guild…
He was utterly…
Baffled…
He had the power, even standing at the pinnacle of Long Song City.
Yet, when it came to the basics, runes, and the practice of spells, he might not even measure up to a Magic Academy student.
Initially, Choo Qin considered seeking guidance from Van Wan, but after the commotion he caused in the city, he felt somewhat sheepish.
After much deliberation, he decided to have Chai Jiu apply for a spot at the academy on his behalf, opting for the most standard Beginner Class.
By concealing his identity, he could avoid complications, quietly focus on his studies, and perhaps even charm a young lady or two—a win on multiple fronts.
Having organized the remaining affairs of Thundery Castle, Choo Qin set out alone under the cover of night.
For the sake of secrecy, he avoided the mansion he received at the previous banquet and instead purchased a residence near the academy.
It reminded him of the exhilarating nights sneaking off to the internet café during his school days.
Yet, this time, he found himself stealthily attending school, a thought that brought both laughter and a hint of embarrassment.
The Magic Academy of Long Song City is situated on the western edge of Long Song City, encompassing a vast expanse beyond the city limits. The architecture is sparse yet possesses a distinctive aesthetic appeal. Prominently, in the center, stand statues of former deans and notable Almighties who have made significant contributions.
Given that individuals with magic talent are rare, the student body is split into two main sections: the Beginner Class and the Advanced Class. The Beginner Class includes some commoners with modest means, who harbor dreams of their children one day awakening to the elements, ascending to the rank of mage, and thus securing a prosperous future.
The Advanced Class, on the other hand, is generally composed of Magic Apprentices who have passed the Spirit test and can manipulate the elements to perform minor tricks, along with a scattering of Beginner Level Mages.
At the pinnacle of the academy is the Elite Class, forming its nucleus. Graduates from this class, be they Beginner Level Mages or High Level Mages, are given the choice to join the Mage Guild or serve the Empire, embarking on their true adventure.
”You’re Choo Qin?” The reception area was not the modest house Choo Qin had envisioned but rather a bamboo pavilion. The teacher greeting him was a middle-aged man with a buzz cut, radiating magic indicative of a mid-stage Beginner Level Mage.
“Yes, that’s correct,” Choo Qin replied succinctly, his demeanor effortlessly that of a student, requiring no pretense.
The buzz-cut teacher scrutinized Choo Qin, detecting no magical aura, and a flicker of disappointment crossed his face. “Alright, come by this afternoon. I’ll introduce you to your classmates.”
