Chapter 27
C27 – Cultivation Turned into a Human
Perched in the tree, Green watched intently as the events unfolded around Lee Tian. Its alarm peaked when it saw Lee Tian swallow the peculiar medicine from the human’s hand, and it couldn’t help but cry out, “How could you eat that? That’s ant medicine!”
Frantic and fuming, yet too fearful to descend, Green could do nothing but cling to the treetop, fretting helplessly.
Meanwhile, Lee Tian reveled in satisfaction after consuming the Spirit Cultivating Pill.
“Third Miss, we should head out. Without a hunter to guide us, we’ll be lost in the mountains,” Zhang Shan advised.
Zhou Yuyan nodded, her spirits lifted by the day’s triumphs against the Swordtooth Tigers. Not only had she inflicted serious wounds on several, but she had also slain one—a testament to her three years of diligent sword practice.
She cast a lingering glance at Lee Tian, her eyes tinged with regret. “It’s such a shame my father forbids me from keeping animals. Otherwise, I could have taken you with me out of these mountains.”
Lee Tian, hearing her words, yearned to say, “Your dad must be teasing. He wouldn’t actually stop you from having pets. Please, take me with you!”
But before he could voice his thoughts, Zhang Shan chimed in, “Indeed, Third Miss. If you were to bring this creature home, the Master would surely want to steep it in Black Ant Health Wine!”
He tutted appreciatively, adding, “Though, a Black Ant of this size would undoubtedly yield a potent Health Wine.”
He nodded emphatically, as if already savoring the prospect.
Lee Tian’s irritation flared anew at his words.
‘You dare think of using me for Health Wine? I’d chop you into eight pieces, believe it or not!’
Sensing the Big Black Ant’s displeasure, Zhang Shan wisely made his exit, addressing Zhou Yuyan, “Third Miss, this creature seems to bear a grudge against me. I’ll go on ahead and wait for you.”
With that, he hoisted the fallen Swordtooth Tiger over his shoulder and strode off.
Lee Tian watched him go, seething with resentment. ‘If only you hadn’t been so quick to leave, I would have surely cut you into eight pieces!’
In that moment, Zhou Yuyan cradled his face and declared, “Okay, little ant, you’ve taken the Spirit Cultivating Pill. Whether you’ll get better or not is now up to fate!”
She paused mid-sentence, her voice dropping to a whisper, “The Taixuan Sect’s Winter Hunt Trial is happening here this year. I hope to see you then. We will meet again, won’t we?”
Her gaze locked onto Lee Tian with a steadfastness, as if sealing a pact with a dear friend.
Lee Tian, of course, wanted to agree, but without the ability to speak, he resorted to a vigorous nod, trusting she’d grasp his intent.
Zhou Yuyan’s eyes sparkled upon witnessing the black ant’s astonishing nod. “Are you saying yes to me? Great, then it’s a date—we’ll see each other again!”
With a tender stroke on Lee Tian’s head, she added, “Take care of yourself, and wait for my return.”
With those final words, she turned and walked away with a heavy heart, catching up to Zhang Shan.
Lee Tian watched her go, her childlike charm stirring his emotions.
He nodded after Zhou Yuyan, vowing silently, “And you, take care of yourself. Once I’ve transformed back into a human, I will come find you!”
As Zhou Yuyan walked away, a frown creased her brow, a flicker of doubt crossing her mind: “How peculiar, that ant seemed to understand me…”
She continued on with Zhang Shan, their figures gradually vanishing into the woods.
Zhang Yuan gazed after her, lost in a reverie, until her silhouette faded from view.
He was so entranced that he failed to notice the Great Green Snake that had slithered up beside him, watching him intently for quite some time.
