Douluo Dalu 3: The Legend of the Dragon King

Chapter 1928: United Wills

Chapter 1928: United Wills

Gu Yuena was right: if they wanted to defeat the Holy Lord, then they would have to make full use of everything available at their disposal. They still hadn't been defeated yet.

The power of the planar ruler had been cut off by the Holy Lord, but the tree of life was still standing in Shrek Academy.

This wasn't the time to be conserving energy; they had to do everything in their power to defeat the enemy.

Tang Wulin closed his eyes to sense the aura of the tree of life amid the raucous cheers. Even he didn't know what the tree of life's current condition was following the destruction of the secondary tree of life.

His aura as the Son of Nature spread outward to seek out the tree of life, and in the next instant, a warm aura surged toward him from all directions.

Exuberant green light radiated from Tang Wulin's body, and in the distant sky to the south, which was further inland, the projection of a massive tree with an enormous canopy gradually began to take shape.

As the green light shone down from above, all of the soldiers clearly felt rich life energy flow into their bodies, instantly wiping away the cold and their exhaustion.

This scene was also being displayed to all of the citizens of the Douluo Federation, and they didn't know what the green light was, but it was clear to everyone that it was definitely extremely beneficial to the troops on the front lines.

What was most important at a time like this? It was confidence and belief!

Excitement began to spread through the ranks as everyone was reinvigorated.

Tang Wulin cast his gaze toward the projection of the tree of life in the distance with tightly pursed lips. He didn't know exactly what the tree of life could bring, but he knew that it would bring them hope and courage.

The time limit of three days was about to expire soon. Cao Dezhi and Zang Xin had sacrificed their own lives to buy everyone this time, and it was one final opportunity for them to turn the tables.

Come, Holy Lord; we'll be waiting for you here!

All of the soldiers sprang into action under the instructions of the military officials, and the air of despair in the human army had completely vanished. Under the nourishment of the tree of life, everyone was filled with vigor and quickly returned to work, reconstructing the defensive lines.

Meanwhile, the powerful beings of the human army basked themselves in the rich life energy provided by the tree of life, doing their best to make improvements that they could in the short term.

Right at this moment, a door of light slowly appeared nearby, and two imposing figures emerged.

Tang Wulin was ecstatic to see them, and he swooped down like a golden shooting star to meet them.

"Uncle Da Ming, Uncle Er Ming, I'm so glad to see you."

Indeed, the ones who had emerged from the door of light were none other than Sky Azure Bull Python Da Ming and Titan Giant Ape Er Ming, the two beast kings that resided in the Myriad Beast Plane.

Perhaps they weren't as old as Beast God Di Tian, but their powers most certainly weren't inferior. After all, they had once been residents of the Divine Realm and were brothers of Tang San.

"What choice did we have? The Douluo Continent has been reduced to such a sorry state by you humans, but we still have to play our part in defending it," Da Ming said as he cast his gaze toward the light barrier that was sealing the abyssal passageway.

"We're counting on you, Wulin," Er Ming said.

Tang Wulin took a deep breath before giving a firm nod in response.

"Ancestor!"

Yuanen Zhentian and Yuanen Tiandang, as well as the other members of the Yuanen Family on the battlefield, hurriedly rushed over to Er Ming to pay their respects.

Er Ming waved a dismissive hand as he chuckled, "No need for formalities; I'm glad to see our Yuanen Family playing a part in this battle."

At this point, only around half of the Limit Douluos of the human army remained, and there was a severe lack of quasigods among them, so the arrival of Da Ming and Er Ming was undoubtedly a much-needed boost.

The abyssal army wasn't much of an issue; the only problem was whether they would be able to bring down the Holy Lord.

The Holy Lord was capable of destroying everything on his own, so his downfall was mandatory if the human race were to prevail.

Everyone was gathered on the front lines, waiting in silence. Even Yu Guanzhi and Zhang Huanyun were present.

At this point in the battle, there wasn't much use for commanders like them.

Tang Wulin turned toward Gu Yuena, and the flames of resolve in his heart burned even more fiercely.

For her sake, he had to win no matter what.

"Gu Yue, do you think it would be feasible for me to open one more seal or open both of the remaining seals? I feel like I should be able to handle it now that my body has reached the godly level."

Gu Yuena immediately shook her head in response. "That's absolutely out of the question. I can sense that the seals in your body are very powerful and also very intricate; they were most likely left to you by your father. The final three seals contain the true power of the Golden Dragon King, which is godly power. After opening the 16th seal, your body is now already almost as powerful as that of a third-rank god. To put it in simpler terms, if you had a godseat now, you would be able to become a third-rank god right away, and the final two seals would elevate you to the level of second-rank god and first-rank god, respectively.

"Think about how massive those enhancements are. Firstly, there's no way your body will be able to handle that much power, and even more importantly, the Golden Dragon King's soul is lurking in those final two seals, so you're extremely likely to be possessed if you try to access the power in those seals. You can only attempt those breakthroughs if you're reunited with your father someday and can benefit from his protection."

Tang Wulin nodded in response.

Their conversation had taken place entirely through voice transmission, so no one else could hear them.

All of a sudden, Tang Wulin asked, "Gu Yue, you're not a human, right?"

Gu Yuena faltered slightly before a wry smile appeared on her face. "You've been wanting to ask me that for a long time, right?"

Tang Wulin smiled, and said, "It's not important to me whether you're a human or not; all I know is that you're my wife."

Gu Yuena immediately blushed upon hearing this. "Who's your wife? I haven't married you yet!"

Tang Wulin latched onto her hand. "After this battle, I'll propose to you. I'll organize the most lavish wedding for you, and I'll make sure that you never leave my side ever again."

A somber look appeared in Gu Yuena's eyes. "Do you really not care that I'm not a human? I'm sure you've already guessed that I'm the Silver Dragon King, the other half of the Dragon God."

Tang Wulin was silent for a moment before replying, "That possibility did occur to me, but it's still quite incredible hearing you confirm it."

Gu Yuena's eyes glazed over slightly as she said, "Over a decade ago, I took on a human form, and due to some unforeseen circumstances, I was forced to split up into Gu Yue and Na'er. Due to the separation, we both lost a lot of our memories, which was why she was like a blank slate when you first met her. You cared for and nurtured Na'er, shaping her personality and making her fall in love with you. In the year that Na'er left, she had done so because my memories were gradually returning to me, but Na'er was still an independent entity.

"If I were to forcibly devour her, I would have to pay a heavy price. In particular, my mental state would become flawed. Hence, I made a bet with her. She asked me to approach you and remain by your side for a set period of time. Once that time was up, she would agree to fuse with me. It seemed that Na'er lost the bet as I did as she demanded, but in reality, I was the one who lost as I had fallen in love with you during our time together. Thus, Na'er was fully willing to fuse back with me, but I didn't want to do that as I was afraid that you would be saddened by Na'er's passing."
