Chapter 42: Origin

After hearing Chen Sen’s new theory, Ling Hao became slightly dazed because he understood what Chen Sen meant by ‘those people’. The Ling family and the Chen family were both at the top of China’s most powerful families and being the two future leaders of these families, both of them definitely know more things than the average person.

Those people included the ancient clans of China and also all the well-known but concealed sects. There were many scary possibilities, as some were above the ordinary authorities of the world. These people were not afraid of weapons and did not come to compete for power. Instead, they lived quietly and only focused on their training so as to improve their abilities.

These people were mysterious and unapproachable by the usual commoner. While access to them was limited, they were definitely present.

Within the seven most powerful families, there were some who came from such places. By serving these people, one was able to earn many benefits and resources for themselves. What they got was much more than what they gave!

These people were high and mighty and even the heads of influential families dared not command them around but treated them with utmost respect. Remembering the person that only his grandfather could order, Ling Hao did not rebut Chen Sen. However, he was still unable to accept this since there is no way that those people would save someone that was so insignificant.

“Chen Sen, it is possible that those people did something but why would they do such a thing when they are so high and mighty? What could they get by saving that pig? Anyway, how could it be so coincidental that they were there just when he got into an accident?”

Even Chen Sen felt that this was too far-fetched but besides this explanation, he had no other excuse!

“Young Master Ling, I do feel that this is quite impossible too but I have to remind you that I took your money and agreed to kill your brother, which I have done. However, I have no idea how he is still alive. Since he is not dead, I will find a way to repay your twenty million.”

For someone so greedy to agree to return twenty million dollars, Ling Hao knew that Chen Sen was spooked and afraid. Chen Sen might be harsh but he was definitely not dumb. If Ling Yun was truly saved by those people, for him to attempt to kill Ling Yun again might anger those people and bring problems for his family. Chen Sen would rather give up twenty million than attract such trouble.

Knowing that Chen Sen was unwilling to meddle in this anymore, Ling Hao chose not to push him as he furrowed his brows and said, “Alright, I trust that you have done it so I will give you two million dollars. Return me the rest as I still have a need for it.”

Although upset about his how unlucky he was, Chen Sen agreed with Ling Hao and reminded him, “Have you ever thought that perhaps your grandfather found him and sent people to save him?”

This was the other reason why Chen Sen didn’t want to be part of this. With their power and influence, it was entirely possible for the Ling family to find someone in vast China. Since Ling Hao had been able to do it, there was no reason why his grandfather would be unable to do so.

If he had been able to kill Ling Yun before the people sent by Ling Hao’s grandfather were able to find Ling Yun, then he would still able to clean his hands off the matter and no suspicion would be cast on him.

However, he had failed to kill Ling Yun, which resulted in a complication. He had seen a dead Ling Yun with his own eyes before leaving, yet, Ling Yun was still alive the next day!

No matter the identity of the person who had saved Ling Yun, he was not one to mess with considering the extent of his capabilities. If it really had been the grandfather of the Ling family who saved Ling Yun, then wouldn’t he come directly for Chen Sen should he find out that Chen Sen was planning to kill Ling Yun again?

If it came to that, even his own grandfather, Chen Jingtian wouldn’t be able to save him. It was at this point that Chen Sen decided to warn Ling Hao. Ling Hao replied firmly, “That can’t be! My grandfather does not even know that the b*stard is in Qingshui City. Okay, I will settle this by myself. You have no business in this anymore.”

He then cut the call and his face showed a strange and almost terrifying expression.

I failed! And I failed in a mysterious way!

Someone who should have been dead was still alive and this made Ling Hao gloomy. Being the eldest son of the current head of the family, he was next in line to become the family head but that was not entirely confirmed. He had to compete with his exceptional younger brother and two male cousins from his second uncle, Ling Bing. This caused Ling Hao to drift apart from his family as he thought of ways to beat his relatives while befriending his third uncle so as to gain some support in the process of fighting for the title of the family head.

Who would have thought that a few days ago, his third Uncle, Ling Xiao, had gone to his grandfather, Ling Lie, the one with the most power in the family, and confessed that he had a b*stard son that he banished to the countryside when he had just been born. Grandfather Ling Lie flew into a rage when he heard the news and kicked Ling Xiao out from the ancestral hall. He then requested for someone to find his grandson, murmuring about how someone with the Ling family blood could not be homeless!

Having three other rivals was enough trouble but now, with this extra person, especially someone who was a b*stard, Ling Hao couldn’t help but feel furious! He then took matters into his own hands by using all his resources and doing everything he could to find Ling Yun. It seemed like his father, the current head of the family, also agreed with his actions, considering the lack of response from the man.

With the power of the Ling family along with the advancement in technology, it was extremely easy to find any person. Furthermore, Ning Lingyu’s mother had chosen not to change Ling Yun’s name and had made an account for him in a public security bureau when she found him. Hence, within three days, Ling Hao had discovered the whereabouts of Ling Yun. After cross-referencing with pictures, he confirmed that Ling Yun was the b*stard son of his third uncle.

With murderous thoughts, Ling Hao had immediately contacted Chen Sen, offering twenty million dollars for the death of Ling Yun. As long as there was no one called Ling Yun on this earth, who would be able to find him? Even if he was found, a dead person would be no threat to him.

No one would have predicted that Ling Yun was still alive! Although unbelievable, Ling Hao trusted that the person he had sent to investigate would not lie to him.

“I never thought that this b*stard would have such a long life! He’s still not dead even after such a gruesome accident!” Ling Hao muttered to himself as he bit on a cigarette. With the support of his father, he was not afraid. In his eyes, killing a b*stard child that hadn’t been found by the family was nothing. Which eldest son of a big family would not fight hard to win the title of head of the family?

Finishing the cigarette, the crazy look in his eyes disappeared as he dialed another number. “Find me a few assassins to go to Jiangnan, Qingshui High and bring me the dead body of Ling Yun! Quick!”

Learning his lesson, he had to see the corpse for himself this time. After the call, excitement gleamed in his eyes. Pressing the button beside him, he waited for the two sexy ladies to re-enter the room and continue to pleasure him.

Qingshui High School, Male Hostel, Room 305

After entering Physique Tempering Stage Level 1, it only took Ling Yun a few minutes to arrive back at his hostel while carrying the sandbag.

Entering the room, Ling Yun placed the sandbag at the corner of his room before proceeding to remove the bags tied to his legs. He only laid down to rest after showering and washing his dirty clothes.

“When I reach Physique Tempering Stage Level 4, I should be able to use the spiritual energy in me comfortably. I should buy my silver needles tomorrow, I feel empty without them.”

To him, the silver needles were not just able to cure people but they were also lethal weapons. He understood every part of the human body and even with his eyes closed, Ling Yun was able to point out every point that was fatal or beneficial to humans. Given that he had attained Physique Tempering Stage Level 1, he would be able to hit any point within a ten-meter radius with his flying needles. Thus, the needles were not just tools to help others but also weapons to defend himself.

“The problem is, where do I buy such needles?” The truth was that when he had been shopping today with Tang Meng, he wanted to buy the needles but was afraid of being unable to answer Tang Meng’s questions, hence he had decided not to buy it. It was weird for a boy of his age to buy needles. Before going to sleep, he browsed through his mind for an excuse to buy the silver needles. After much pondering, he finally thought of something.
