DxD: My Main Skill is Winning Hearts

Chapter 4 – My First Girlfriend, Yumma

Chapter 4 – My First Girlfriend, Yumma

I had only suspected that I had been teleported to the beginning of the High School DxD story, but confirmation came when I was approached by Amano Yuuma.

She was a good-looking girl with a nice personality. The only problem was that it was all a disguise. I knew this, and yet I accepted her invitation for a 'date'.

I didn't necessarily go on a date, because her proposal was more like 'let's go out and get to know each other?'.

Anyway, this was important for the continuation of the story, so I went to the agreed upon meeting place. It was a busy place in the city center, near a shopping mall and a big clock.

Suddenly, a woman with fancy clothes and little devil wings approached me. She had a flyer in her hand and handed it to me before I had a chance to refuse.

I took the flyer and analyzed it. In the middle of the flyer was a circle with various strange details and the phrase 'I will grant your wish'. Despite the strange and suspicious flyer, I smiled.

"This will be my door into the arms of Rias Gremory, but first I must..." I was talking to myself when I heard footsteps approaching quickly and someone calling my name. I quickly stuffed the flyer into one of my pockets.

"Leo!" I looked to my left and saw Yumma approaching.

"Good morning, Yumma."

"Good morning... Sorry. Have I kept you waiting long?"

"No, I just got here," I replied casually, with a smile.

We started the meeting by walking through the busy city streets together. This was my first date, so I was a little nervous and couldn't talk much.

As she commented on some of the clothing stores and window displays, I listened intently. Soon, we arrived at a small cafe near the mall and chose a table near the window. We just waited for our orders, but Yuuma kept talking, talking about herself, her tastes and dreams. I listened like a good friend.

When the two huge bowls of ice cream arrived, I saw her smile genuinely. Even though I knew everything that was going to happen, I was distracted by her smile.

Like I said, this was my first date of my life. I had the right to relax a little, right? I allowed myself to and enjoyed Yuuma's company that afternoon.

After the ice cream, we walked more and talked more. Then Yuuma said it was getting late and suggested we end our first date at her favorite place in town. I already knew where this was going, but I agreed.

It wasn't long before we reached the Fountain Square, where the orange dusk made everything even more beautiful.

She was surprisingly quiet, more introspective, and there was a flush in her face that could easily have been mistaken for shyness - Arh! I wanted to grab her when I saw that blush.

When Yuuma left my side and walked near the water fountain, she put her hands behind her back holding her bag, looked at me and said:

"Hey, Leo... To celebrate our first date, could you do me a favor?"

She slowly approached me with that friendly smile, putting one foot in front of the other. Any boy would be stunned by this, but I sighed, reached out and stopped her.

"Wait, I know where this is going." I said in an indifferent tone. "I know what you are."

Yumma raised her head, looking surprised, but my expression remained serious. A sadistic smile appeared on her face at that moment.

"You really know, don't you? That makes it more interesting."

At the same time, the sky began to darken rapidly, as if the clouds were gathering in a whirlwind above us.

"I may die in the end, but first I'm going to test my new ability."

Yuuma laughed. "Hahaha! So you're not the innocent boy I thought you were! Anyway, if you want to do this the hard way, let's do it!"

With a quick movement, Yuuma transformed. Her clothes fell apart and her black wings came off her back much faster than shown in the anime. In an instant, she was no longer the gentle girl I had just shared ice cream with; she was now in full Fallen Angel form.

"Although our time together was short, it was a kind of fun. I saw you looking at me with... affection. Are humans so easy to manipulate, even when they know what they're up against?"

I smiled and took a few steps back. "Did you enjoy the meeting? It's a shame I can't say the same. I couldn't wait for you to reveal yourself to me soon. You talk a lot and do nothing? You didn't even rub your breasts against me, so maybe I would have enjoyed it a little."

The proud smile disappeared from Yumma's face. "I wanted to give you a merciful death, child. But no more. You deserve worse."

"If you think you can defeat me so easily, you're wrong," I shouted, raising my left arm and concentrating on the image of Boosted Gear in my mind.

But to my surprise and horror, nothing happened. The red gauntlet didn't appear above my left hand, Ddraig didn't react to my command.

Yuuma laughed louder than before and conjured a light spear in her right hand.

"DIE, LEONARD!"

Before I could understand what was happening, Yuuma became a complete blur to me. Instinctively, I tried to dodge, to anticipate where her attack would come from, but the sharp point of the spear pierced my stomach the moment I moved, causing excruciating pain, a pain I had never felt before.

A system screen appeared for me just then.

It was my HP meter.

[HP: 70/100.]

[HP: 41/100.]

[HP: 22/100.]

I had the standard 100 HP, which was usually represented by an intense green color. The green color of the life bar quickly faded to yellow, orange, and finally red.

Yuuma withdrew her spear and her face twisted back into that sadistic smile as she heard me scream in pain.

"Ha... How delicious! You see, Leo? There was nothing you could do." She came closer, knelt down and lifted my head. "You're pathetic!"

Panting and feeling weak, I was forced to look into her eyes. The dark sky was getting darker and darker. My vision quickly turned into a black tunnel.

In a last-ditch effort, I put my right hand in my pocket, crumpled up the pamphlet I had received, and thought with all my might:

'Please, Rias Gremory, save my life and make me your servant!'

At that moment, even in the midst of all the darkness, I saw the light at the end of the dark tunnel, a light of an intense crimson color.

Yuuma backed away quickly, confused. I would have liked to see what happened next, but my consciousness faltered until I couldn't resist sleep any longer.

[16/100 HP]
