Chapter 1: Return
Chapter 1: Return
"Huh, what is this?" Levi who had just opened his eyes could not help but be confused when he found himself lying on a hospital bed.
His body looked a little thin while his right and left hands were attached to IVs that were each a different color.
"And what is that?"
His eyes narrowed when he saw something large flying far away in the sky.
It was probably an island.
How could there be an island flying on earth?
His eyes looked around again and finally found the date.
(12-07-2026)
"What, two years have passed, that chicken tricked me."
Levi immediately sat up with a bad expression because something did not match his expectations.
2 years ago, he was transferred to the cultivation world by a certain existence, given various facilities as a reward for completing a certain task.
It may have only been 2 years on earth, but in reality he had already spent over a thousand years in the cultivation world before having access to return.
The problem was that when he returned, things did not match his expectations.
The existence that had transported him to the cultivation world had promised him to stop time on earth, so when he returned, it seemed that only a second of time had passed.
Unfortunately, it had become two years.
Levi could not help but be angry as this mess made him think what would have happened if only time on earth had not stopped at all.
If it was like that, when he returned, over a thousand years would have passed.
He would not be able to meet anyone anymore among all the people he knew.
"Gosh, why don't I remember anything? Have I fainted since then?"
Levi scratched his head, and became even more uncomfortable as his body felt very weak.
In the cultivation world, he could easily pull a star from his home.
Suddenly becoming human again and it was so weak made him not know whether to laugh or cry.
"First I need to know what it is," he said, looking at the flying island again.
The good thing was that he found a tablet on his nightstand, it seemed more futuristic than 2 years ago.
He wasn't sure who had put it there.
Fortunately, the tablet was not locked. It was apparently part of the hospital facilities used by patients or families to contact doctors.
Of course, it had a browser that could be used to search for information.
Levi immediately wrote flying island in the search to get the information.
Apparently, it even had a dedicated page explaining the details.
He read through everything then was taken to another page explaining various other things.
Too many things had happened on earth in these 2 years, and all of them amazed him.
In essence, the earth had become a world of cultivation.
Everyone can cultivate because of the emergence of spiritual energy.
However, what appears on earth is not just spiritual energy.
There are many things that appear like mysterious places in various forms, one of which is that flying island.
One thing that really caused trouble was that there were two other worlds that merged with earth and those two worlds had the same conditions as earth, the new worlds had spiritual energy.
Although there was no war, conflict between the three worlds was often inevitable.
However, the most amazing thing was the existence of the Cultivation Leveling System.
This would appear to everyone who finally had a cultivation, helping to accumulate EXP by killing monsters or undead.
That EXP could then increase the cultivation stage.
For example, by killing several Level 1 monsters, a First Stage Cultivator could break through to the Second Stage.
All cultivators needed to do besides leveling was focus on mastering techniques because if they didn't have techniques, it would be difficult to defeat monsters and undead.
Every cultivator must have stronger techniques as they reach higher stages or else they won't be able to level.
'What happened to make these things appear?'
Levi wondered in confusion.
Although he had reached the peak in the cultivation world, he unfortunately had no experience encountering anything like the System.
Click!
Suddenly the door to the room opened, revealing a very young-looking female doctor.
She was very pretty with a white coat and long blonde hair that looked a little messy.
Her face seemed perfect with an oval shape coupled with a pair of bright blue eyes that seemed to glow.
Levi was a bit confused because in terms of age, the woman probably hadn't reached 20 years old, the same age as him.
Was she already a doctor at that age?
"Mm..."
Levi observed her and felt she was familiar to him.
Her face, he guessed he'd seen it many times, but he wasn't sure because he sure didn't know this kind of woman.
"Ohh, it's been two years, you finally woke up," she said with a faint smile while shaking her hair.
That did not seem to be the style of a doctor to his patient unless perhaps the doctor was familiar with the patient.
Levi remembered a doctor who had a similar style but was over 40 years old.
When he remembered that doctor, he finally realized that the young doctor's face was similar to that doctor.
"Doctor Charlotte!" His eyes widened slightly when he saw the name written on the young doctor's chest.
Wasn't that the name of the doctor he knew?
How could their names be the same?
Levi suddenly felt that they were really the same person.
The more he thought like that, the more he was sure their faces were really the same.
It was just different in age.
"Ohh, it seems our little Levi doesn't recognize me anymore. Yeah, after all, I'm getting younger now, this is natural," said the doctor, confirming Levi's guess.
Of course, after knowing that, Levi's reaction became calmer.
He knew very well that cultivation had many miracles.
If one was lucky, one could make the body return to a young body.
The woman walked towards him with her eyes fixed on the large screen beside his bed.
A strange expression appeared on her face for a few moments before she looked at him again.
"According to the data, you should have fully recovered, but this is hard to say because I also don't know what made you suddenly fall into a coma," she said.
"Lady Charlotte, have I been unconscious for these two years?" asked Levi in response.
Although it was obvious, it felt like something was missing if he had not asked this doctor.
Addressing her using the word Lady felt strange to him because of the change in her appearance, yet he had not thought of a suitable word to call her.
If he directly called her by name, it felt a bit strange considering he had gotten used to it in the past coupled with their age difference.
Actually, they were neighbors plus that woman was a close friend of his mother.
That was why he had an affinity with her.
"Even more than unconscious," Charlotte replied in her soft voice.
"You're almost like a dead person, only your heart is still beating. In fact, your blood has stopped flowing. If it wasn't for the special medicine, I'm afraid your body would have decomposed in two years so that only your bones would remain. You should be thankful for being the son of a rich man because your treatment costs are not cheap at all."
Levi, "..."
"By the way, where are my parents?" he asked, instantly changing the subject.
Of course, in this situation, he was more eager to meet his parents as soon as possible because they were the most important to him.
Over a thousand years, he worked hard just so he could see them again.
When asked about that, Charlotte's expression suddenly became serious.
"This might not be something you want to hear," she said.
Levi took a deep breath at that, trying to suppress his rapidly increasing heartbeat.
"Did something happen to them?" he asked in a low voice.
He would have already panicked to the point of losing his mind if not for the fact that he had a different life experience in another world.
Even with that, it was still difficult for him to calm down.
Charlotte was a little surprised to see that his reaction was not excessive where he could even ask calmly.
"Well, it might have been better if you knew earlier. As you know, the world has changed," she said.
She stared at the tablet in his hand, guessing that he was already looking for information about the changing world.
She continued, "they've disappeared and no one knows where they disappeared to. Of course, you can't think badly of them right away because there is a possibility of them returning. Some people have disappeared for longer and returned with greater strength because they disappeared to find a place with extraordinary opportunities to cultivate.
"I hope you're not too uncomfortable. I had previously promised your parents to take care of you if you recover, so you can come home with me later. Wait until I finish my work. Stay here for the time being. The nurses will come to remove the needles in your body."
She turned around after saying that, then walked away.
As a doctor, she rarely interacted for a long time during her working hours.
When the woman was gone, Levi observed his body again.
He moved his fingers, trying to sense the spiritual energy in this world.
'Quite thick,' he thought, somewhat amazed that with such spiritual energy, cultivating would be quite easy.
He closed his eyes, starting to cultivate.
From the information on the internet, cultivating manually would take a long time, something most people did while the elites had methods they got from various mysterious places.
The higher the level of the method, the stronger one became.
Levi didn't need to search for any methods because he had too many of them.
Repeating cultivation in an uncultivated body also gave him a chance to use better methods.
Seven Great Paths!
This was the best method he had and he would use it now.
With it, he could likely connect his consciousness with his body in the cultivation world.
It didn't die, it just lost consciousness, and it was fine to survive without consciousness for thousands of years. The important thing is that no cultivator at his level found it.
With his cultivation experience plus the best methods, cultivating became very easy for him.
In a short period of time, various phenomena appeared around him.
