Chapter 68 Punishment for the Empresss Tears 2
68 Punishment for the Empress's Tears 2
A deep frown etched on her beautiful face as she regarded Feng Tianyi for a moment. What he said made sense, not because they shared a bed but because they would be living together for a year. She would need to occasionally see or talk to him anyway.
"Fine. Qin Jiran it is." She said decisively, which earned a smirk from Feng Tianyi.
A while later, he was shocked to see Tang Moyu finishing her third sandwich, before downing her coffee with cream. Feng Tianyi had been shocked at first to know that this woman can eat a ton without worrying about gaining weight, but he was still unaccustomed to it.
Did she really love food that much, or was she starving because she hadn't eaten enough during the banquet last night? He wondered.
"What?" Tang Moyu raised a brow at him when she noticed his stare.
Feng Tianyi shook his head to clear his thoughts before shrugging in response.
Meanwhile, as Feng Tianyi and the Tangs started their day with lazing around, Feng Tianhua was greeted by bad news as soon as he entered his office at Feng Conglomerate.
"What do you mean Mr. Wang backed out from the deal? I thought that we only needed to sign the contracts and we would've already sealed the partnership?" He asked his Deputy CEO, Liu Changyan.
Ever since he kicked out Tang Moyu from Feng Conglomerate, Liu Changyan had been his partner and right-hand man. However, it was clear that the man's skills were below the empress. Liu Changyan wasn't as capable as Tang Moyu in terms of getting the maximum advantages on each deal the company had entered into and the growth of the sales and performance had been stagnant for the past five years.
"They backed out at the last-minute, Tianhua." Liu Changyan said. "Wang Corporation said they received a better offer from Qing Tian Group."
Feng Tianhua lifted his head and narrowed his gaze at Liu Changyan. This deal had been ongoing for months now and they weren't able to meet Wang Corporation's demand until now. However, Qing Tian Group was able to take it away overnight?
Qing Tian Group was owned by his father's ex-wife, Song Huifen. And although she still ran the company on her own, the majority of the shares were owned by his elder half-brother, Feng Tianyi, whom he hadn't seen nor talked to for the past five years.
Not that they were close to begin with. In fact, since they were younger, they'd been at each other's neck and could never be civil with each other. It stemmed from the fact that Feng Tianhua was born a month after Feng Tianyi's parents' divorce was finalized.
For Feng Tianyi, it was his birthright to inherit the Feng Conglomerate that had been run for generations by the Feng family, and yet, after their father's sudden passing, the will said that the company would be handed to the younger Feng brother instead of him.
The last time Feng Tianhua saw his older brother was five years ago when they had a heated argument the day before Feng Tianyi was involved in a multiple car collision, which led to his loss of ability to walk since then.
It had been five long years, and as far as Feng Tianhua knew, his brother had moved to France and had never stepped back in Shenzhen again. So why did the Qing Tian Group suddenly wanted to mess with him again?
What could have happened to lure the devil out from its lair?
"Have they signed the partnership yet?" He asked Liu Changyan again.
"They are signing the papers as we speak." The man nodded in response and had been wary of his reaction. Feng Tianhua didn't bother to hide his displeasure over the matter. How can he be happy when all of his hard work for the past months had been for naught?
Was Feng Tianyi back in the country and this was his gift to commemorate his return, or was there something else?
"Go and check if there are other bids that the Qing Tian Group made recently. We mustn't let this happen again!" He exclaimed with exasperation.
At that moment, his wife, Xing Yiyue burst into his office with an annoyed and pitiful expression on her beautiful face. She pouted and crossed her arms over her chest as she took a seat on the couch near his desk.
Liu Changyan excused himself and left the couple alone.
"Something the matter?" Feng Tianhua rounded his desk and walked to his wife, taking her hand in his. "Why are you so upset? I thought you said you have a photoshoot today?" He asked her.
Xing Yiyue frowned, her brows furrowing in frustration. Indeed, she had a photo shoot scheduled for today, but her manager had just called her, telling her she didn't need to go anymore. She could only go back and complained to her husband about the grievances she suffered from it.
"Darling, they canceled my endorsement all of the sudden. Why would they do that to me? I've followed all the clauses in our contract, but they said they wouldn't push through the project anymore as a new season is about to start." She told her husband.
Feng Tianhua's lips pressed into a thin line. Was it just a coincidence that he'd just lost a deal to Qing Tian Group and now his wife also lost one of her major endorsements for this year? Was Feng Tianyi also involved in his wife's predicament?
