Chapter 39: The Silvermoon Household

Chapter 39: The Silvermoon Household

I got off the train and looked around, the city of Ebony was completely different from Alden, it was bigger and more populated, but it was also richer and more powerful.

I walked through the streets and admired the view, I was heading towards the Silvermoon household which was located at the center of the city, but I didn't want to rush things as I didn't know what to expect.

I eventually arrived at the center after a few hours of walking and saw a giant mansion, it was surrounded by a tall wall and had a huge garden, it was obviously the Silvermoon household.

But I didn't enter it directly, instead I sat on a bench nearby and observed the place.

I looked around and saw that there were guards patrolling the area, they were all wearing silver armor and had a sword or a gun attached to their waist.

"Well, there is no point in going inside in broad daylight, might aswell wait for a good time" I mumbled, thus deciding to book a hotel close to the mansion to see if anything happens.

I went to the closest hotel and booked a room, it was expensive but I didn't care, I had enough money to pay for it, well only for two nights that is, after that I'd have nothing.

I entered the room and threw my backpack on the bed, then I sat down and looked out of the window, I could see the mansion from here.

"I wonder how Mina is doing..." I thought, "I hope she's okay."

I decided to spend the rest of the day resting and preparing, I didn't know what would happen but I needed to be ready.

***

(At the same time, inside of the Silvermoon household)

Mina was sitting around a giant table in the dining room, there were dozens of people sitting around it, but she wasn't paying attention to them, she was more preoccupied by the different dishes infront of her.

"So what are you gonna do about Mina?" an acquaintance of Julius, her dad, asked.

"I frankly don't know, we've sent her to the best school in the world and we get info that she hangs out with a weak human, I was quite shocked" he sipped a bit of tea before answering, "me and my wife are discussing about the matter, but the most probable outcome would be to get her out of this filthy place and marry her to a pure and reliable elf noble"

Heating these words, the elf couldn't stand it anymore.

"I DON'T WANNA GET MARRIED TO SOMEONE I DON'T KNOW!" she slapped her fist agaisn't the table and shouted with tears in her eyes, "AND HE IS NOT FILTHY OR WEAK!"

"Mina, you should learn to respect your elders" her mother, Tina, scolded her calmly.

"I don't care! I want to stay with Kaine."

"You're not allowed to see him again" Julius said coldly.

"No!"

"Enough!" he raised his voice, "you will listen to us and obey, or else I'll have to use force, you're already embarassing us infront of our guests."

"..." she stayed silent.

"Good, now eat your food and go to sleep"

"Yes father..."

She grabbed her fork and started eating, but she was crying while doing so.

"Poor girl, she's still young and naive" one of the guests commented.

"Indeed, but she needs to understand that she can't always have what she wants"

"I agree, I wish my daughter was like her though, she's a complete brat"

"Hahaha, I feel you, this Kaine guy already corrupted her enough to say stuff like this..."

They continued to talk about random stuff while Mina finished her meal, then she excused herself and left the room.

Mina obviously thought about escaping, but how, and where? Her father would find her in less then an hour if she tried anything.

The only thing she could do is wait for her parents to decide what to do with her life, and nothing could stop them from doing that.

She was chained.

***

I spent the next two days creating my plan, I couldn't do it on a single night as it would be too difficult to assess everything even with the [Extra's Knowledge] skill.

But now I was ready, I had a clear idea of what to do and how to do it, all I needed to do was execute it.

I had mapped out the environment around the mansion, plus the schedule of the guards and the different ways to enter.

Of course I would use both the relic and my axe to dispose of any... um... annoying people.

Sigh... so much happened lately, just for this moment, I needed to focus.

It has been seven days since I left the academy to retrieve Mina, and now I was the closest I could ever be to her.

One final push and the [Hatred] skill would activate aswell.

I waited until it was dark outside, then I exited the hotel and headed towards the Silvermoon household.

I left the backpack inside of the hotel room, the only thing I took was the gun relic.

I arrived at the entrance of the mansion and looked around, there were no guards in sight, which meant that they were probably inside of the garden.

I jumped over the wall and landed in the garden and just as I thought, there were three guards placed in positions where they could watch everything.

Honestly, the first thing I thought when I imagined a rescue mission was to infiltrate the household to get her back without anybody noticing me.

But unfortunately this is not a viable option, this isn't a movie after all.

And so the next best thing to do is...

[Skill: Trial and Error, activated]

Smash through them in the fastest amount of time possible.

I charged at the nearest guard and punched him in the face, knocking him out instantly.

"What the-" the other two exclaimed.

"Who are you?!" one of them pulled out his gun and aimed it at me.

"Nobody important" I answered and ran towards him, I dodged the bullet and kicked him in the stomach, making him sleep as the impact was too powerful even with their silver armor equipped.

"ARGHHH!" the last guard screamed and tried to attack me, but I grabbed his arm and twisted it, making him drop his weapon.

I then proceeded to punch him in the face, rendering him unconscious.

"Welp, no going back now I guess" I advanced towards the mansion and noticed that one of the giant decorative windows, specifically the one leading to the dining room, had it's lights on.

I climbed a bit and peeked inside, just to see a giant table with around thirty people around, and along them was...

"MINA!" I shouted inside of my head.

Everybody but her seemed extremely happy and festive though, I guess they're celebrating something that she doesn't like...

"Huff... puff" I breathed a bit before getting ready for the next step.

And after I finished to calm down, I stepped back by a few meters from the window then sprinted towards it.

[Anger meter: 99/100]

At the final moment before impact I jumped and dropkicked the glass, thus shattering it and finally entering the house in the coolest way I could think of, infront of everybody's surprised eyes.
