Chapter 225 Extreme Cultists?

The room was already noisy when Roland arrived.

The moment he walked inside, a lot of gazes were immediately drawn towards him. Others nodded towards him as a greeting, while the others even went as far as to say hello. A process that Roland had not gotten used to yet, the drastic change of attitude his classmates were showing towards him.

Roland merely smiled and nodded towards them as well. Although he knew the reason for their actions, it would be rude to ignore them as well.

Sitting on his chair, Roland took a cursory glance around him and noticed that everyone was still busy talking among themselves. Curious as to what they were talking about, he decided to ask Madison about it, who was already sitting beside him at this point.

Madison stared at him for a good few seconds before she responded.

"It seems that you really are not always using your phone." She said as if in defeat.

"What's the matter?" Roland asked with a look of confusion on his face.

How does him, not knowing what the others were talking about, connect to him not using his phone very much?

Madison could only sighed after seeing his confusion. She no longer cared about his indifference and explained to him what had happened.

"So basically, everyone is talking about Bryan and the others."

"Why? What happened to them?" Roland asked with a straight face. However, the moment Madison mentioned the name Bryan, he already had an inkling on what would come out of her mouth next. He took a glance around and noticed that Bryan and the others were not around.

"Well, I don't exactly know what happened but according to their report in our group chat, it seems that they got robbed on their way home. Aside from all of their belongings getting stolen, all of their knees were also brutally shattered by the suspect," Madison said, her voice quivered a little at the mention of the robbing and the shattered knees.

"In fact, the whole school already knew of this and all of us were warned not to wander too much during the night. I am surprised that you seemed not to know about it. Well, considering that you did not even open our group chat, and even my messages even once, this is actually not surprising."

Hearing that, Roland could not help but smirk inwardly. What a convenient way to hide the fact that they were actually lying in ambush there to teach Madison a lesson. It seems that the way of the rich truly makes wonders.

From suspects to victims real quick!

As for Madison not knowing that she was actually the root of Bryan and his friend's demise, Roland thought that it would be better for her not to know anything, even just a fraction of what was about to happen that time if he did not secretly send someone to guard her.

On the other hand, Roland fished out his phone out of his pocket and opened the Dissbook messenger app. And indeed, Madison was right. There were truly a lot of unread messages in their class group chat, while below it was Madison's chats which were also left unread.

Roland clicked on it and read that she was just checking in on him. She said in the chat that Bryan and the others were 'ambushed' and she was worried about Roland after he did not go online last night.

Seeing that, Roland could only look at Madison apologetically with a wry smile. He was very busy and did not have the time to open the Dissbook messenger at all.

Madison could only roll her eyes towards him after seeing his actions.

"Right, how are they doing now?" Roland suddenly asked, trying to shift the topic away.

There seemed to be some worry on her face as she continued. "Right now, they are already being treated in the hospital and they might not be able to come to school very soon."

"Sigh, first was the arson and now this incident. What is exactly happening?" She continued, a hint of worry in her voice.

The news regarding the arson had also blown out on the internet. It took the whole city into a storm, as everyone grew tense to the brutal murder of those people's bodies being burnt to crisp.

Everyone was at the edge of their seat, and coupled with Bryan and his friend's incident last night, it was finally rumored that someone was trying to commit a mass serial killing for some sort of ritual.

"What I am concerned though is that the arson and what happened to Bryan is actually connected. In fact, the Police had already made a statement earlier that this seemed to be the work of a rising cult, in which they are trying to commit robbery and then kill their victims afterwards and sacrifice them to their worshiped Evil God."

"The reason why Bryan and the others were just left with broken knees was probably due to the fact that Councilor Brown arrived at the scene just in time, scaring the cultists away in the process."

Roland's mouth twitched after such ridiculous explanations and rumors. The two incidents were both connected to him, if this was true, doesn't this mean that he was now being treated as an Evil God by the police and the people of Fore City?bender

'What Evil God, I'm just clearly seeking justice!' Roland joked inwardly.

"According to the Police, the cultists would probably launch another attack soon!" Madison stated.

Madison hugged her arms together, feeling a little chilly upon the mention of the extreme cultist, "I hope that the Police will be able to catch these extreme cultists soon and punish them for their crimes already. Sigh, at this rate, going home would probably be very dangerous."

Roland did not know what to say after hearing that.

'Lady, are you hoping for my demise now right after I decided to save you?'

Roland shook his head and said, "Well, just don't think too much about it. Let the police do their work and we should just focus our attention on our studies."

Madison nodded her head, as if agreeing to his words.

A while later, Teacher Theodore entered the room with a ragged face.
