Chapter 27 Cube
For every player, defeating a dangerous monster was a significant event because it meant that the player would receive good rewards.
Zayne, for his part, looked at the messages with a calm stare as he didn't realize that it was abnormal how much he got in less than 24 hours after Fallen Fate Online was launched. Sometimes being a newbie was even helpful, as it was unclear what was good and what was bad, so there were no limits.
[You defeated Champion Monster!]
[You defeated an opponent whose level was much higher than yours!]
[You receive double the amount of experience!]
[You gain 100 EXP!]
[You have reached Level 6.]
'Well, well, did I really do something incredible?' Zayne muttered looking at the information screens floating in front of him.
[You became the first one who defeated Champion Monster alone!]
[You've won the title - First Champion Winner!]

"Zayne... How did you do that?" Harald asked with a dazed look.
"Yeah, I have the same question..." Roland muttered in disbelief, "I knew you were a capable guy, but to kill that monster alone... I'm not sure my knights could do something like that."
Zayne looked at the massive monster and muttered, "I don't know, I think you overestimate me. This monster wasn't strong or scary, it's easier to fight a bigger enemy alone since you can act as fast as possible."
Everyone was puzzled, especially the knights whose eyes went wide. They were experienced fighters, but the one-eyed monster was too big for them to attack without fear. They were humans, not soulless machines, so could not ignore fear, it was either there or not.
'Damn... Zayne truly is incredible.' Aron inwardly muttered looking at Zayne, 'He's definitely not a professional fighter, although he's pretty smart, but what makes him really special is his attitude towards fear. He just wasn't afraid, that's why he acted so confident.'
"Hahaha, Zayne, I can't believe it, but I feel like you're saying it absolutely sincerely!" Harald suddenly laughed as a wide smile appeared on his face.
"Hmm?" Zayne tilted his head in confusion, "Of course, I'm telling the truth, why would I lie to you? This monster isn't scary at all compared to the Black Wolf!"
"Hah, Black Wolf... right?" Roland grinned, "Sounds like meeting this beast changed you a lot. Perhaps Fate noticed you even then since that's where it all started, isn't it?"
Zayne didn't answer anything, he just nodded deeply, as if agreeing with Roland's words.
"Fine, since Zayne was able to kill this big guy all by himself, we can move on." Roland said, glancing around the group and slowly walking forward.
"What...? Isn't that the main monster of the second level?" One of the knights asked with a worried expression.
"Yeah... Zayne did something impossible! He just defeated another Champion Monster, didn't he?" His buddy gave a questioning look.
Roland shook his head, "If this were the final opponent, we would have figured it out by now since Chaos Hearth would have started to disappear, but as you can see, nothing is happening."
Elin looked at Roland, "Commander... Does that mean there's another enemy just like that ahead of us?"
"It does." Roland said calmly with a shrug, "Don't worry about it. Apparently, there's just one more ace on our team."
Elin frowned as she stared at Zayne with a frown, biting her lower lip almost to blood. She realized that Zayne was the main character here since he managed to outshine everyone else, even the commander.
'Shit, I don't know what you think of me, but I don't care! There's no way a simple guy can be so fearless! There's definitely something wrong with you!' Elin exclaimed inwardly, staring at Zayne as if trying to drill him with her gaze.
'Hmm? Why is she staring at me like that?' Zayne said to himself in a confusion, 'Well, Elin seems like a rather strange person, I'd better not provoke her.'
Roland made a decision, so the knights quickly recovered from the incredible show and headed forward, passing the massive monster next to whom Zayne was standing. He was staring thoughtfully at the one-eyed.
'Honestly, I didn't expect my idea to work, but this game is really no different from the real world. It was Champion Monster, so I've definitely gotten a lot stronger already. Well, I hope that's a good result.' Zayne inwardly muttered, took one last look at the monster, and followed the group.
Crackle. Crackle. Crackle.
Suddenly there was a strange sound like the shell of an egg breaking as everyone turned around. The knights immediately put their swords out in front of them, preparing for battle.
"Damn! I knew it was still alive!" One of the knights exclaimed, wanting to attack, but he was stopped by Roland, who extended his hand.
"No, that monster is certainly dead. What you see now means that in this dangerous mission, we have not only Fate on our side, but also luck." Roland said with a serious gaze.
Beams of light burst out of the monster's body as if it could explode at any moment, gradually the bright light covered everything around as one-eyed began to disappear, turning into ash that dissolved into streams of light. It was the loss of many rare materials, but no one was upset because it happened for something more important.
A white cube appeared in place of the monster, covered in a dense layer of energy as if slowly flowing through it.
"What is that...?" Zayne muttered with a confused look.
Aron stepped forward, smirked, and said, "It's called a Treasure Box. It can hold just about anything inside, but it's always something unusual or powerful."
Zayne headed forward, straight for the cube since he was very curious to know what was inside. The others only looked at each other, letting Zayne enjoy the moment.
"Mr. Aron, this cube is white... is that good or bad?" Zayne turned to Aron giving him a questioning glance.
"It doesn't matter. It just means that Fate or Chaos had nothing to do with the appearance of this Treasure Box, for then the color would be different." Aron explained as he waved his hand.
Zayne nodded and looked at the cube again. There was a four-leaf clover sign painted on top, which made Zayne smile slightly.
'I don't have much luck in the real world, as Mia and Rubia are the only things I can thank my life for...' Zayne muttered inwardly as his gaze grew darker, 'I hope that luck will be more favorable to me here because then I can improve my situation in reality.'
Zayne sighed, nodded, and placed his palm on the cube. At the same moment, many cracks appeared in the cube as a stream of azure light burst from it that blinded Zayne for a moment.
The cube disappeared as well as the light, so now Zayne could clearly see the object obtained from his first Treasure Box.
