Chapter 25
C25 – Defeating His Opponents One after Another
“Flying Guillotine?” Mo Changyou observed the rapidly spinning weapon in Mo Yangning’s grasp. He had encountered numerous Flying Guillotines before, but the one before him was a Grade Three Spirit Weapon—a rarity in all of Black Rock City.
“This Flying Guillotine is a Grade Three Spirit Weapon, the sole one in Black Rock City. Even an Energy Condensation Level 7 master would meet his demise against me. Mo Changyou, your death is certain today!” Mo Yangning sneered, rising abruptly and channeling Spirit Energy into the weapon. In an instant, the Flying Guillotine, originally the size of a human head, expanded nearly tenfold.
The Flying Guillotine, now resembling a massive bell, spun its gears wildly as it bore down on Mo Changyou.
“Today marks your end!” Mo Yangning jeered, hurling the Flying Guillotine. As his Spirit Energy surged, the weapon, as if sentient, zoomed towards Mo Changyou.
Yet, Mo Changyou simply offered a light, dismissive chuckle.
“Aren’t you aware that any Spirit Weapon beyond Fusion Spirit level is manipulated by thought?” Mo Changyou remained calm and collected in the face of the oncoming Spirit Weapon.
“What of it? This Spirit Weapon bears my father’s soul mark. Do you really think someone of mere Energy Condensation Level 3 can break it?” Mo Yangning continued to sneer.
In Black Rock City, this was the only Flying Guillotine, and Mo Yanglin had imbued it with his soul power, making it seemingly indestructible to Mo Changyou.
“If your father were here, it might indeed be challenging. Alas, he is not.” Mo Changyou’s lips curled into a familiar smile as he struck out at the incoming Flying Guillotine.
In that moment, the formidable soul power of the Heavenly Book Monarch infused the Flying Guillotine. The boundless force hammered down upon the weapon, shaking it violently and erasing Mo Yanglin’s soul imprint.
Though Mo Changyou’s soul was now a mere fraction of what it had been in his past life, it was still beyond Mo Yanglin’s capacity to match.
Mo Yangning lost control of the Flying Guillotine in an instant. It felt as though it had been snatched away by an unseen force.
Hovering above Mo Changyou’s head, the massive Flying Guillotine showed no signs of aggression. With a smile, Mo Changyou gave it a gentle pat, and it nestled against his hand like a tame lamb.
It seemed to have been subdued.
“How can this be?”
A profound shock reverberated through Mo Yangning’s core. He was in disbelief at the scene unfolding before him.
How could Mo Changyou so effortlessly break the soul brand of a Late Spirit Fusion Stage master? It defied all logic!
”This has to be dark magic. I’m going to expose you to the Mo family. You’re a demon!” Mo Yangning’s legs shook uncontrollably as he grappled with the reality that Mo Changyou had commandeered a Grade Three Spirit Weapon. The thought of the severe punishment that awaited him if his father found out was unbearable.
“In your next life, be content being a nobody,” Mo Changyou declared, tossing the Flying Guillotine. In that instant, the weapon lunged ferociously at Mo Yangning, who spun around and bolted outside in a frenzy.
His face was a canvas of horror.
Regret consumed him; he should never have crossed Mo Changyou.
Now, his earlier arrogance was replaced by a mix of anxiety and remorse. Given another chance, he would surely be submissive before Mo Changyou.
But as Mo Yangning fled, Mo Changyou’s eyes narrowed. The Flying Guillotine picked up speed and, in a flash, clamped onto Mo Yangning’s head. With a sickening crunch, it bit down, and its body expanded to engulf Mo Yangning’s entire form.
The sound of blades whirring, bones shattering, and Mo Yangning’s terrified screams filled the air.
Despite his cries, Mo Yangning met his inevitable end.
“I gave you the opportunity to live, yet you squandered it,” Mo Changyou said coolly, recalling the Flying Guillotine to his hand. It transformed into a bell the size of his palm and settled there.
Gazing at the gruesome remains before him, Mo Changyou shook his head with a hint of regret.
On the path of cultivation, there is no room for mercy. Every great power who has ascended to a high station has blood on their hands.
In the unforgiving world of cultivation, weakness invites cruelty; the strong show no mercy, trampling the weak underfoot and grinding them into nothingness.
At that moment, Mo Yangning’s father, Mo Yanglin, abruptly lost his connection to the Flying Guillotine. His eyes snapped open, filled with confusion and concern.
”Beiming is alright, isn’t he?” he asked, a trace of unease in his voice.
Though Beiming had been pursuing a mere novice at Energy Condensation Level 3, Mo Yanglin couldn’t shake a nagging sense of worry. Ever since Mo Changyou had entered the ninth floor of the Azure Dragon Pagoda, he seemed to have changed in an extraordinary way.
“Someone, dispatch three more practitioners at Energy Condensation Level 8 to hunt down Mo Changyou,” he ordered, unable to quell his anxiety. As he watched the trio set out on their mission, Mo Yanglin felt a measure of relief.
”Hopefully, Ming has just encountered a mighty figure who coveted his treasure. As long as Ming remains unharmed, all will be well,” Mo Yanglin whispered to himself, hoping for the best.
