Fate Online: Shadow

Chapter 21: F*ck Me!

"Whoa, there are really users fishing here"

Michael said as his lingered at the players fishing from the bank of the huge lake, and the first thing he noticed about them is that they are all old players around mid thirties and higher.

"Open Inventory"

Michael muttered, as a window appeared in front of him, showing him the current contents of his Inventory.

He then clicked an item, as it immediately appeared in his hands.

[Old Fishing Rod] - [Common]

Description: A fragile fishing rod that could only catch small fish, has a 1% chance to catch a medium size fish.

Requirements: None

"Hehe, I haven’t fish for a long time now. Gramps did say that you can cook in the game"

Michael chuckled as he slowly walked over at an elevated spot from the bank of the lake, and behind him is one huge tree rooted just three meters away from the lake.

Michael put on a bait on the hook, he then cast his line by pulling back and throwing the hook forward.

Plop!

Now it’s a waiting game for him, but not even ten seconds later, Michael saw the bobber suddenly sinking in the water, followed by a powerful tug that even pulled Michael to step forward.

"What the heck! That’s so powerful tug! I thought this shit could only hook small fishes!?"

Michael cursed, as he immediately put all of his focus on the fish, he immediately jerk the rod in the air, but the fish wasn’t having any of it,as it started fighting back!

And so, the two of them started a contest of tug of war, and that Michael could even hear his rod creaking from the pressure.

"Damn! This isn’t a small fish at all! F*ck that as*hole who put that misleading description on the fishing rod!"

Michael cursed in anger, after all, he only planned to try it out and maybe even catch a small, but he didn’t expect to actually hook a huge fish! That he could already make a rough outline of a five foot long shadow of a fish inside the water!

"Motherf*cker, could my luck get any worse!?"

He snorted in anger as he could already feel that his rod wouldn’t last long!

"Grr...if this keeps up then I would’ve just wasted a good ten copper coins for a freaking cheap rod for nothing!"

"You little shit, you still won’t give up huh!?"

The commotion immediately immediately attracted the attention of the nearby users who are also fishing like him. After all, he was really cursing out loud.

"Good god, did that lad just hooked on a big fish!?"

"Whoa, that rod is seriously bending hard, that lad needs to reel in it soon or his rod will break from the pressure!"

Some users immediately put their rods away and slowly made his way towards Michael as he watched him from a distance away.

This old men are already familiar with each other in the short time that they have been fishing here, and all of them are around Level 2 or Level 3 just from fishing alone.

The five users smiled as they greeted each other with a nod.

"Do you guys think that the lad would get the fish?"

"Catch it? Keke, it would be a miracle if he could actually catch it using that cheap rod he’s using!"

"I agree with Dave, it’s already a miracle that he could actually hooked a big fish just by using a cheap rod"

"How about a bet then? 1 Silver that he will be able to catch it"

"Bet? You’re on old man! 1 Silver that he won’t!"

"1 Silver that he will"

Some players grinding mobs nearby even joined the fun when they noticed the commotion happening around here, that they even joined in the gamble if Michael could catch the fish or not, and before long, there are already at least twenty players watching nearby.

’I could hear you, you f*cking bastards!’ Michael cursed inside, as the five old men are just standing a little over ten meters from beside him.

"Don’t even think about escaping from my grasp!"

"Arghh!"

Michael’s eyes burned with rage, as the muscles in his arms bulged with power as he pulled the rod backwards with all of his strength behind it!

Splash!

A four foot long shadow immediately flew towards the air and landed on the bank of the river, and at the same time, his rod also broke into pieces just after the fish flew towards his direction, along with the message that he successfully caught the fish, but he just dismissed it.

"Ahh!"

Michael shouted in the sky triumphantly like he just won a big battle, and then he immediately dash towards the four foot long fishing on the ground, and store it inside his Inventory.

"He freaking did it! I won!"

"Dammit! My thirty coppers!"

"That fish is so f*cking big!"

"Hey! Isn’t he the guy who’s been popular lately!?"

"Oh my god! He is!"

"Damn!"

Michael immediately dashed out of there as he didn’t want to attract more attention to himself, and while the players are taking in their winnings, the five old men just watched the disappearing silhouette of Micheal with disbelief in their eyes, as they didn’t expect him to actually catch it!

Even the two old men who wagered that he would catch it are also in shock!

"Hey, did he really catch that huge fish using a freaking cheap rod?"

"He did old man, he did"

"Damn!"

And now, Michael has another title on him after this, "The Fishing Master" apart from "Lone Wolf" and "Mission Impossible"

******

Michael immediately himself on the grassy ground at the park inside Haven City.

"I know that I just caught a big fish, but why can’t I stopped smiling because of it?" Michael said, as he has a huge grin on his face.

"Hehe, this must have been how those fishermen have felt when they caught a monster fish"

And then he checked back at the message he ignored earlier when he caught the fish.
