Florida Man in Magus World: Unleashing Liberty and Freedom

Chapter 83: Florida Man Claims to Spot Multiple UFOs During School Field Trip He Illegally Joined While Searching for His Cheating Wife

North of Big Zoot City

A ten-acre stretch of paved land had been designated as the gathering place for those hoping to participate in the Royal Magi Academy's public examination. Over 10,000 families from all seven provinces had journeyed here, bringing their children who showed high aptitude in magic, each hoping to test their luck despite the slim chances of success.

In the crowd, groups of three to ten commoners stood together. Parents held their children's hands as they anxiously awaited the opening ceremony and the announcement of procedures. They kept a respectful distance from the northern area, where the more privileged attendees had gathered.

Noble families also sent their children, all under the age of 17, to participate even though many were already students at local magic academies. As members of established powerhouses, these children had already been trained in the basics, including breathing methods and elementary spells. Most of them were either first-circle or second-circle mages.

These noble families clustered together in the northern section, facing the north road that led to the majestic Royal Magi Academy. Each noble house had deployed over 100 bodyguards and their top mages to accompany their children, ensuring their safety and comfort.

Although they represented just 1% of the overall group, they occupied a full 30% of the available space, dominating the scene with their presence.

Jane, Valley, and the Cement Golem stood in the eastern section of the gathering ground, preparing for the long trip ahead. Their luggage was neatly piled beside the golem, ready for camping. In front of them, a hundred families of wealthy commoners were clustered together, guarding their children and protecting their belongings with vigilance.

Valley and the other candidates from the merchant group had spent weeks receiving guidance from the Storm Tower, residing in the tower's dormitory during their training. Jane and the Cement Golem had served Valley as her followers throughout this time.

According to the mages from Storm Tower, the examination would begin with a preliminary round designed to separate the candidates into three groups: those with a promising future, average trainees, and those deemed lacking in talent. The latter group would be disqualified immediately and sent home, while the top two groups would advance to the next round.

Valley was brimming with excitement. As a first-circle wind mage, she was confident that she could easily secure a spot in the second group. She planned to rely on her knowledge and her newly acquired ability—Eyes of Appraisal—to achieve a high score in the written exams.

Jane, meanwhile, glanced up at the sun, estimating the time. It was 7:50 AM, just ten minutes before the examinations were scheduled to begin. Her thoughts wandered to Felix, wondering if he was still lazing around in the energy room. She couldn't help but miss him.

As Jane daydreamed, a large flying carpet descended over the gathering site, landing in the northern section. Fifty instructors from the Royal Magi Academy stepped off the carpet, surveying the crowd with smiles.

Among them was Sean Smith. His eyes scanned the attendees until they settled on Jane.

Sean inhaled deeply, licking his lips as his thoughts turned dark. "It's unfortunate you're serving a candidate. Otherwise, I would have had you two weeks ago. Well, it doesn't matter. There will be a time when you'll have to stay behind while the candidates spend the night at the test ground. I'll make my move then."

His breath grew heavier as he grinned, anticipating what he hoped would be a wild night.

*RUMBLE*

More flying carpets arrived, this time at the noble gathering area. Prestigious families continued to arrive, adding their presence to the already tense atmosphere. Among them was Veetee, the same young noble who had provoked Felix two weeks ago. He led a formidable group of his own, flanked by a hundred two-star aura knights and a fifth-circle water mage.

The entourage exuded a fiery aura that intimidated the crowd.

Sean glanced at Veetee and clicked his tongue in annoyance at the flashy entrance. He ranted inwardly, "Damn Seth House and their lightning mages. Just because their ancestor figured the secret of lightning element, everyone in their family has grown cocky. I hope you die during the practical exam."

The other instructors and noble families glared at Veetee and his entourage, echoing Sean's disdain. Among all the noble houses in the empire, the Seth House was infamous for its overbearing nature, notorious for exploiting their ducal status and unique magic to intimidate both commoners and fellow nobles. Rumors circulated that they were plotting to overthrow the emperor and seize the throne.

However, most of the family had actively participated in the war against the Crimson Desert Tribes, which helped to dispel these conspiracy theories.

Veetee crossed his arms and stared at the instructors with a smirk. His eyes then swept across the field, taunting the competitors as he searched for someone to bully. However, every noble child was accompanied by their family's best bodyguards, making none of them appear vulnerable.

Frustrated at not finding an easy target, Veetee scoffed and sneered, "A bunch of trash."

Everyone heard the remark. Several young candidates shot glares at the blond boy, ready to confront him. But their guardians intervened, pulling them back and whispering words of caution.

"You'll have your chance during the practical exam. There's a field test and a duel tournament to determine the rankings. You can settle the score then."

Other guardians echoed similar advice to their wards. Only then did the hot-headed youngsters manage to rein in their tempers.

Veetee wasn't the only one who had advanced to the second circle of strength. Among the crowd, a dozen boys and girls matched his rank. None of them believed they would lose to the arrogant blond boy in a magic duel.

As the tense atmosphere dragged on, killing intent filled the air. All eyes were on Veetee, each contestant anticipating a bloody confrontation or even the youngster's demise. In the midst of this, no one noticed the latecomer who had just arrived with the headmaster of Storm Tower.

Felix, seated on Garudeer's flying carpet, arrived at the scene. After landing, Garudeer helped Felix down and instructed him to wait among the crowd before joining the other instructors as one of the judges.

Felix quietly took his place in a corner of the noble section. By chance, he ended up near Veetee's group, though he hadn't yet noticed them.

The other magic tower headmasters soon arrived as well. The head of Ocean Tower was an elderly woman dressed in a nun's robe. Unlike the others, who arrived on flying carpets, she rode on a small rain cloud, resembling a mystical version of the Nimbus Cloud.

Accompanying her was her disciple, an 15-year-old black-haired girl wearing a nun's uniform and a black blindfold, who gracefully stepped down from the dark Nimbus.

After parting with her master, the young nun made her way to an empty spot, which happened to be near where Felix was standing. Without a word, she walked over and took a place just two feet away from him.

Felix raised an eyebrow as he sized up the young nun. Her hair was concealed beneath a coif, and her eyes were hidden by the blindfold. Yet, Felix could tell that she would grow into a striking woman, with a perfect nose, a pretty face, and small pink lips. Her pale, flawless skin stood in stark contrast to Jane's freckles and rough complexion.

Despite her youth, the girl's height was impressive, standing at 5'5", which was taller than most modern women on Earth. Her tight uniform highlighted her figure and her hips. As Felix observed her, he couldn't help but wonder how beautiful or alluring she might be beneath the veil.

After admiring the young nun's face for a moment, Felix closed his eyes and shifted his attention back to the adults. He inwardly cursed himself for checking the girl, feeling ashamed of himself. He slapped his forehead, reminding himself not to cross the line.

Meanwhile, another headmaster arrived on a flying carpet—the master of Nature Tower. She, too, was a woman, but unlike the others, she was 5'10 lady with a striking figure. Her face and appearance suggested she was in her early 20s, but when Felix noticed her long pointy ears and silky blonde hair, he realized that she was of a fantasy race.

The headmaster of Nature Tower was a stunning female elf. Her elaborate green long-sleeve shirt, matching pants, and gold trinkets looked like something out of an anime cosplay.

As soon as the elf appeared, every man's eyes fixated on her. Even Felix couldn't resist a silent whistle.

"Damn, I got married too soon. I should've waited. But are you happy, number two?" Felix thought, laughing at himself. In his mind, he began to role-play as his younger brother, letting his thoughts drift, "Not really, number one. Had sex, doesn't matter. I want some more, though.

I haven't had one in weeks. I couldn't even fap."

Jessica heard every word of Felix's internal monologue. She sighed and shook her head in disappointment before offering a warning.

<Be careful of her disciple.>

'Oh?' Felix wondered what kind of disciple the elf had. But when he looked up, he was stunned. An obese boy, whose his face covered in pimples, awkwardly descended from the master's carpet. He stood only five feet tall but seemed to weigh over 200 pounds. While sweating profusely, he nervously glanced around.

Then, the boy's eyes met Felix's, and he also noticed the attractive young nun. He blushed. However, he didn't avert his eyes from her.

'Oh, boy,' Felix thought, a sense of unease creeping in. He didn't want to get in the way of his puppy love at first sight, but his passionate stare gave Felix goosebumps.

<That's not it. Check the map.> Jessica warned.

'Hmm?'

Felix opened his system map and checked everybody's color. Most of them were yellow or red, except some of the instructors who appeared as green.

Surprisingly, the boy in front of Felix also had a purple color.

'…Huh?'
