Game’s Dogma

Chapter 355: Reward (8)

Chapter 355: Reward (8)

The Eastern server was a gathering of talents. No one could tell whether some elite players remained hidden, but at the very least, none could snipe an enemy at over 700 metres as of now.

Empyreal Alliance was the first to answer the kill-on-sight warrant. The snipers capabilities sent chills down Chau Yus spine. As a commander, he feared players who could take him out from afar the most.

The Eastern servers higher-ups decided to place a 100,000 coin bounty on Hawks head for every kill. The bounty could be redeemed multiple times, so players had an incentive to kill him over and over again.

On the other hand, the East was less wary of Butcherer and Musashi, two of the Four Generals. While the two were certainly strong, the East also had its share of top-tier players. Someone would step up to handle them when the time came.

Drako Yau paid the Arena and the Oda Clan Residence a visit after receiving the Cryoflame Spear. Ichor Hon and Oda Nobunaga were the ones who fought for this opportunity, after all. He even got to learn the old geezers name.

Yeung Tin Hun. That was who the old geezer was.

Drako Yau took no time pondering any longer and ran straight for the Castellans Residence. He had a list of things to do once he reached Level 40, and visiting Fatty was of foremost importance. Fatty had promised him a gift at Level 40, after all.

Stygiens quest was one that spelt certain death. If not for Hagrids sudden appearance and interference, Drako Yau wouldve died for sure. He couldve given up the quest to let the NPCs slay Stygien, but that was something he would never do either.

No matter what the Castellan gave him, hed receive without shame and quite rightfully sohe had earned it with his life on the line.

At the Castellans Residence, Drako Yau sat calmly across Fatty whose face was twitching, the fat on his cheeks jiggling. The two stared at one another until Fatty couldnt stand it any longer and said, Alright! Fine! Kid, stop staring at me!

You promised it, Drako Yau said with a poker face despite laughing in his head.

Didnt expect you to be Level 40 so soon Fatty murmured. He then asked carefully, Um How about you return in a few days?

Drako Yau put on an icy glare. Do you think I have much time to spare? Are you going to give it to me or not?

Fine, fine! Fatty stood up with some difficulty and hobbled into the rooms inner chamber. He glanced at Drako Yau, only to receive another glare. He shuddered and fled into the inner chamber.

In terms of combat prowess, Fatty could easily take care of Drako Yau, but he felt guilty for sending the young man to die. He simply gulped and didnt retaliate to the unfriendly glare.

After a while, Fatty returned while carefully carrying something with both hands. The way he treated the item suggested it was a priceless treasure.

What is this? Drako Yau asked, curiosity brimming.

The item was hardly appealing. The pitch-black ellipsoid was as dark as charcoal. Although its appearance was strange, Drako Yau didnt look down upon it because he could sense how much Fatty cherished it. Such a thing could carry great importance.

I dont know either, said Fatty.

Drako Yau almost choked himself upon hearing Fatty. He pointed at the charcoal and growled, You dont know? Then why are you giving it to me?

Fatty fought back this time. Hmph! Do you think there are many things I do not know? I know a lot, so theres hardly anything I dont recognise. Whatever that is, it has to be a precious item. This is the best reward I can give you now.

Drako Yau frowned and said, Then I dont want it. You can give me a Level 40 epic set instead.

Do I look like Im a charity? I cant just give you what you want!

Didnt you give Dan a set too?

Thats because I gave it to him in secret, a piece at a time! That was before the Warring Wastelands too! The higher-ups are stricter these days. If I give you a set now, I can guarantee you wont see me tomorrow! Fatty was starting to feel vexed by the conversation. I can only give you things I personally own. This is the best thing Ive got, do you want it or not?

Fatty looked like a fraudster from head to toe. Drako Yau felt his veins popping out just from looking at how smug the Castellan was. Left without much of a choice, he grabbed the charcoal.

Handle it with care! Fatty felt his heart aching at how Drako Yau handled the priceless treasure like it was trash.

Drako Yau suddenly realised something, but he kept up his facade and asked, Are you giving it to me or not?

Yes

Then I can handle it however I wish! Drako Yau then tried to put the thing into his item bag, only to receive a system notification.

Unidentified items cannot be stored.

Unidentified item? Drako Yau thought before saying, Why cant I put it in my item bag?

How am I supposed to know? Im not a player!

Then what are you?

Im Fatty quickly covered his mouth just when he was about to answer. You bastard! That was a trap!

Hmph, you got lucky this time. Drako Yau then left with the charcoal while thinking, What a shame.

The game world had many abnormalities, but Drako Yau couldnt wrap his head around the reasons behind them. He was simply trying his luck, hoping Fatty might leak some information.

Drako Yau carried what seemed to be a dirty dark chunk of stone through the city, attracting lots of attention and mocking laughs from passersby. He had swapped out all his equipment and removed his mask. Who could possibly relate this noob to the king of Yoda who could turn the city upside down with plain words?

I wonder what theyll think if they realise it is me theyre laughing at.

Without anyone noticing, he snuck into his home with the charcoal-ish thing in hand. He glanced at it and sighed. He originally intended to take advantage of Fattys debt to get his hands on something useful, yet he ended up with an unidentified item. He casually plopped the charcoal on top of a shelf, contrary to how careful Fatty handled it.

Drako Yau treated his home as a warehouse and a place to sleep, nothing more than that. His house was messy as he simply placed everything randomly, but he was fine with it. Most players didnt care too much about how their homes looked either because the focus was on the furnitures buffs.

After finishing his trip for today, Drako Yau sat on the Wyrm Bed with his legs crossed and began his daily cultivation training.
