Chapter 13: Leveling up!
Chapter 13: Leveling up!
As time passed away, the Moon enchanting the night skies sets, and the Sun rose in its place.
The light of the Sun scattered and filtered through the atmosphere of the Awakened continent. The skies brightened up telling everyone that a new morning has begun and it's time to work.
Naturally, rays of lights sprinkled on the face of the snow haired boy. Whittaker wasn't a heavy sleeper and this little bit of Sunlight was more than enough to shook him out of his state. He groaned due to the annoyance that brightened his face and tried to go to sleep, once again.
But before that, he decided to sort out the disturbance that has brightened his vision even though his eyes are closed. Hence, he opened his eyes to locate the source of the disturbance.
His closed eyes opened up. Since the eyelid was no longer there to provide cover from harm, the Sunlight prickled his crystal-white eyes. He frowned due to the pain.
This little pain was more than enough to get his brain working. Looking through the window he realized that the Sun was up and that it's morning already. Before Whittaker went to sleep the windows were closed. He had seen that. He concluded that it's his black-haired roommate who opened the windows thanks to which he woke up at the appropriate time.
He felt slight gratitude in his heart but what happened last night had still left a scar that will take a while to heal. Shadow had to perform some more good deeds before Whittaker befriends him.
Anyway, remembering that he has a class to attend, he forgot all about wanting to sleep again.
"Yawn~" Yawning like a cub tiger, he gazed at the clock to check the time.
The Sunlight has also brightened up the room and the interior could be seen by naked eyes so he managed to see the clock.
A relief expression took place on his face, as the time right now was 6:05 am. The first class for a mage in Royal Frost Fall Academy starts at 7.am. He still had around an hour before the class that he has to attend starts.
Gazing at the sides, he also found his roommate sleeping soundly on the bed. Shadow body and face was buried under the warmness of the white and fluffy blanket.
Looking at his roommate, he muttered in jealousy, "Life is so good for non-mages. They can sleep till late morning! While I have to wake up early in the morning to study magic. Sigh~"
A young boy sighing was something to marvel and laugh at.
The Headmaster of the Royal Frost Fall Academy believes that a person's brain is most active in the morning. An active brain can absorb information just like how a sponge absorbs water and an apprentice mage needs an active brain to understand what they are learning. That's why the class for mages begins so early in the morning.
He had an hour and could sleep for a while but he decided against his desires. The first day of the Academy was the most important, this much even he knew.
He stood up from the bed, took the clothing out from the closet, and went to freshen up in the bathroom connected with room no.7.
After rinsing his face with water, he put on his new clothes, the academy uniform!
The bathroom had a Big Sparkly Mirror. In the mirror, he gazed at his reflection. If before he looked like a handsome country bumkin because of wearing commoners thick winter clothing then now after adorning the graceful Academy uniform he looked like a noble or like a young master from an influential family!
Except for the fact that his hairs were too long, from head to toe, he looked perfect.
Only ten minutes have passed by the time he was done dressing up and came out of the bathroom.
Whittaker took out the Academy map. He noticed that the walk to the Academy will only take five minutes if he sprinted. He decided to leave the room at 6:45 am. It will be 6:50 by the time he reaches the academy and the remaining ten minutes will be used to locate his classroom.
The name of the classroom was written on his student identity card. It said, 1-D.
Since he had more than twenty minutes left, he focused his attention on the Night's Will system.
Yesterday, he had completed a quest by teaching Barbarian Luo a lesson and received a reward of 20 experience points.
He knew the literal meaning of experience but didn't know what experience point did. He has never played an RPG, after all. Only System can answer his questions.
Sitting on the bed, he opened the character Screen!

"Oh!" Due to excitement, he almost exclaimed but muffled his sound as he did not want to disturb Shadow and appear suspicious to anyone. The system was his must keep secret. A secret that will go down the grave with him!
The Frost Mage Class only needed a total of 20 experience points to advance by a level. Twenty experience points were all that he had and he decided to put them all to advance his Frost Mage class.
