Chapter 64: Fates Wheel turn (2)

Chapter 64: Fates Wheel turn (2)

Whittaker was standing inside the bathroom because things were about to get messy. He pulled out his S-ranked class weapon and clutched it in his right hand.

Very carefully, he made a very small cut on his little pinkie, causing some blood to pour out. He pulled back the Blood drinker and dropped the blood on the skill book placed on the basin. The crystal turned scarlet and then vanished into thin air. It appeared in the Soul space and sank into the Frost spellbook, becoming one with it. Inside the frost spellbook, the crystal morphed into a page.

Right then, a system notification popped up,

[Guardian has learned "Icy breath"]

[Icy breath (F-ranked)

Cost: 15 Mana

Effect: Releases a sharp blast of cold wind against the targeted enemy. Can cause a bleeding effect]

Whittaker has learned the spellbook that Shadow has gifted him. Icy breath was nearly as impressive as Frost's bolt. But, he had another reason that forced him to learn this skill.

"Hey, system, you sure that I won't be facing any repercussion for upgrading my spells to E-rank and above?" Whittaker asked.

The system replied, [There's no need to fear. The spellbook and the mana pool won't be damaged even if you upgrade all your skills and spells to S-rank.]

In this world, an F-rank mage can only cast F-rank pure-mana and elemental spells. A spellbook only forms elemental spells according to the rank of the mage.

The only way for a normal mage to cast a spell higher ranked than his rank was the somatic method. The somatic method can be used to cast a higher-level elemental and pure-mana spell, but a mage will need a very stable mana pool otherwise, they will suffer a backlash, but Whittaker didn't need to follow the same rule. According to the system, once the skill development mind is consumed, the spell page in the Frost spellbook will be upgraded.

It's because the Night Will's system, his Frost Spellbook, and his S-ranked class weapon "Blood Drinker" weren't normal. His class weapons could learn higher-ranked spells and skills without any problem.

"System, upgrade Icy breath!" Whittaker said in excitement.

[It will cost 2 Skill development points to upgrade Icy breath into Icy blast]

Utilize two skill development points?

Yes or No

Whittaker had three skill development points, so he didn't hesitate and said,

"Yes!"

[Icy breath Icy blast]

[Icy blast (E-ranked)

Cost: 30 Mana

Effect: The spellbook releases a sharp blast of cold wind that morphs into sharp and long needles made of ice. The needles can pierce deeply into the flesh. Cause Frost poison and bleeding effect]

It was already ten p.m, so Whittaker went back to his bed to sleep. He wasn't feeling tired but as he tried to sleep, he started to feel sleepy. Soon after, he fell asleep.

A black-haired boy, on the other hand, was training in the vacant training ground of the academy. His body was somewhat upside down and bend from the middle as if he was a spineless snake. Executing this dangerous posture, he has increased his battle energy by 2 units. Right now, his closed eyes opened up and he straightened his back as his battle energy has increased by another point.

Shadow gazed at the half-moon that has enchanted the clouded skies. In his eyes, some drops of tears appeared, "Mother, two years, and I will avenge you!"

He clutched his fist in anger and lowered his head. With his eyes burning in resentment, wrath, anger, and disappointment, he continued, "Duke William, one day, with my own hands, I will kill you!"

There was so much hatred in his eyes that they burned with a purplish and abyssal hue. The memories of that night played in his eyeballs. A mother and her son being chased by Warlords and powerful killers, in the end, the mother died, and the son followed in her footsteps.

His negative emotions attracted "Demonic spirits" from the spirit world. Dozens of them came to integrate with him, but Shadow glared at them with his eyes that no longer looked like human eyes. It was as if something was gonna burst out from those eyes, something that has scared all the demonic spirits.

With one gaze, Shadow sends them packing!

Shadow came ten minutes before the gate of the boy's dormitory was going to be closed.

Seeing the snowy-haired boy wearing baggy clothes and sleeping messily, his anger and wrath hid back in the depth of the heart.

Shadow plopped on his bed and closed his eyes. A single thought accompanied and soothed his soul, just like the comfort a child feels when his mother sings a lullaby.

Shadow believed that one day, he will be able to kill his father, the person that abandoned his mother and him, and let them die!

The only reason why he was alive was because of Master Ze Ye, Master Yen Ye, and Master Yi Ye. These three were the relatives of his mother, Binghe Ye. Master Ze Ye was his grandpa, Master Yen Ye was the Magic teacher of his mother, and also his Godfather, Yi Ye was the brother of his mother, and also his uncle.

Ten years ago, the three Masters of the Shen Ze Yi Guild has forcefully integrated the King of Demonic Spirit "Wrath" in his body to bring him back to life. That's the only reason why he was alive.

Shadow's hatred was boosted by the action of his father. His father didn't care about the death of his wife or the life of his son. William has even kicked a three-year-old Shadow out of the Water duke mansion. Over the past ten years, he had gained enough intel to ascertain that the enemy that attacked them that night was the enemy of his father!

With these thoughts in his mind, Shadow, a young boy with a mighty heart that suppresses deep hatred has fallen asleep.

The heavy burden he was bearing was only known to him. To be the vessel of a King's Spirit, especially wrath came with a hellish pain and mental destruction that reoccurs on every full-moon night.

The cold moon day was only some weeks away. A full moon enchants the night's skies on the Cold moon day!
